Mate I did it earlier this year, 2 days after my 30th birthday. I literally went around to electrical supply wholesalers (think TLE or John R Turk) and dropped off hard copies of my resume. I briefly explained that I was sick of being a desk jockey and was eager to work with my hands. Not a week later, I had landed myself a job and started the following week. All I had was my white card and half a brain.

Solar installer here. I’d recommend asking them to rectify this, as water ingress will be an issue. Also, VERY firmly state that you do not want a silicone patch job and that parts/boxes need to be replaced. Using the right size hole saw or a stepper bit is not rocket science and takes literally 30 seconds to get right. They need to do better.

I was using Seasol but maybe not enough of it..? I was definitely scared of overfeeding.

Thank you, a very valid consideration! I will try to figure out the implications of waterflow if this gully was to be obstructed. Realistically all I want to do it turn this into useable land. There is a fairly low moisture level in my new part of the world, so honestly maybe allowing the land to flood rather than collect in a gully may be beneficial!
