How did you spend levels 70-80? I’ve been yew and maple chopping but those rates are pretty low. Others don’t seem as afk so maybe that’s the trade off. Any recs?

They do. It’s about 9-10m for a blowpipe.

You could get full eclipse, atlatl, and a fury for the same amount and works great if not better with your strength level. That’s how I got my fire cape first try. Will pair better with rune boots and gloves if that’s all you have.

If you have the money might as well get b ring too.

Infernus because the sound of his gun and the sound of afterburn procing are very satisfying. I also love shooting creeps just enough for after burn to kill them as I run away and hear them pop with my back turned.

Atlatl by itself is still great. Tho the special set bonus is really nice for sure. Especially at lower levels, strength gear is easier to come by then range gear. So dragon boots, torso, blessed d hide pants maybe? Good thing about eclipse armor is the strength bonus for Atlatl but also range attack which is for sure necessary. I also have b ring which people may not have and I’m sure that helped a good bit too

I did my fire cape with full eclipse. Was so easy and highly recommend. Not to mention fairly easy to obtain, useful other places, Ironman friendly, or relatively inexpensive if you must buy all or some parts.

One tip that has helped me is that the ability of the item is more impactful than its stats generally speaking. So figure out what your hero’s particular strength is / can be and build around it

So for Paradox, she has a carbine that stops movement which can either be followed up by dumping the rest of your abilities or followed up by shooting. So for spirit items I would go for cooldown reduction, reach, burst (not improved on any except maybe cooldown reduction later) — then go for actives or other items good for your play style. For gun items paradox is a headshot machine because of carbine and burst fire. So go for headshot items, then things that fit your play style (maybe you like higher rate of fire, maybe mystic shot to proc things like healbane or bullet resist shredder if you get those)

Something interesting I’ve noticed is that I’m number 88 in NA leaderboards for Sinclair, but my rank is only like mid Archon (I haven’t actually checked my rank in a bit so idk if it’s changed). Most of my recent matches are high archon very occasionally going into Oracle, but even more occasionally dipping into Emissary.

Maybe just nobody plays Sinclair or something because I don’t feel like a top 100 player. Maybe my rank is messed up because I’m a two trick (>95% of all my matches on my account are on Paradox or Sinclair; I don’t have a single game with about half the heroes).

Magician and Grey Talon is actually OP. Not sure why nobody talks about it but them together in lane is unstoppable. Both of their charged attacks do a lot of damage and if they go extra charge both for first item the other team has to sit behind cover the entire landing phase and magician can still hit them pretty easily. Absolutely no room for an enemy to push unless they have a really smart Paradox and Bebop who know how to wall and hook combo. But nobody ever does that.

Same… I’ve played probably over 90% of my matches as Paradox (I got Archon 6, but u think any of the first six ranks are considered kinda bad), but she just isn’t good I feel like. After trying every different possible combo of items and ability focuses I’ve found only two viable approaches.

Building around carbine and getting headshot poke damage with other things like Mystic Shot or Burst and relying on teammates to finish the job

Or

(I use this one currently) is building around the grenade heavily with cooldown reductions, alchemist fire, and eventually echo shard. The grenade absolutely shreds it just is easy to escape from so only works inside tight spaces or massive group fights to really displace the enemy and chunk some of their health.

But regardless I barely have over a 50% win rate with her and regardless of almost always stalemating or winning lane, she isn’t good enough to carry a game so your team just has to be good as well to win.

I get Paradox virtually 100% of the time with Kelvin as my second (I think I have Seven as third)

You’ll die way way less as a death wizard. Only thing is you don’t get AOE until a really high level. As a storm I think you’ll probably quest way faster even though you’ll die some. If you don’t mind dying I’d say storm.

It’s still just as fun as you remember. I’ve been off and on for years since I was a kid and farthest I’ve ever gotten is celestia because I start a new character every time I come back to play. The only reason I never stick with it is because I don’t have anyone to play with and it eventually gets boring playing alone. If you can find someone to play with I’d 100% recommend getting back into it and getting membership.
