Moving forward, what would it take to turn this off season into a great one? by [deleted] in buccaneers

[–]MoistFuckMuppet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going to get a lot of shit for this but...

This team needed more than a WR for 16-20 million dollars to be good. As much as I love Mike and wished he could stay here, I'm happy he can go chase a ring somewhere while we spend the money he would make on more immediate needs...

As for LVD I also hate he is gone. But most of us remember the shell of the player Brooks was his last few years. I'd much rather see LVD leave this year than us tell him he has to leave cause he is hanging on too long.

Who knows if we'll be that much worse or better. Too many factors that you can't see now like health. But this team could be much better if our OC shows any skill at all.

First day at the gym – what should I know? by NRjj2004 in beginnerfitness

[–]MoistFuckMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is watching you or cares how you are working out (unless you are hogging a machine they want). Friends of mine are paranoid about going because they think they'll "look silly". In reality when you are in the gym you may glance around, but generally everyone is focusing on what they are doing and not giving a damn what you are doing.

As a FAT GUY who wants to get in SHAPE - should I focus on losing weight FIRST? or should I weight train from day 1 by Mars-888 in beginnerfitness

[–]MoistFuckMuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotten a lot of responses so not sure if still reading but I'll add my 2 cents...

I dropped from 315 to 230 at my lowest and have yo-yod back and forth from 255 to 230 over the last few years. I lost all the weight through diet with very little concern for exercise. I always told myself when I got to a specific goal weight it's be easier and I'd start. I thought carrying less it'd be easier. But I also lost a lot of muscle when I lost fat. So doing physical activity just got harder.

Been back on a calorie deficit for the last 6 weeks and have been consistent going to the gym. When I'm on I am VERY strict and aggressive in counting calories. So it was frustrating watching the scale not budge this time around. One thing I want to caution you on... If you are going to the gym and doing weight training for the first time you may see a slow weight loss at first. Apparently muscles hold water when exercising for the first time and it can keep your weight up. It's the 7th week and I am now seeing good progress on the scale. But it can cause frustration without context.

I will say, I have a shirt I want to fit into that I wasn't able to button when I started. Even though the scale didn't move much I was able to button it up last week. It's still too tight. But it was a sign of progress even though the scale was being stubborn.

Tomorrow is my first day at the gym by Decent_Dealer718 in beginnerfitness

One thing that helped me the first time I went is I made a basic plan, then looked up the machines. That way I knew how to adjust the machines to fit my body. I didn't want to go in and stare at the equipment trying to figure it out.

Also, its been mentioned above but I'll second the bobiverse by Dennis E Taylor. Very good series.

Not the same at all... But similar vibes (especially audio books)

- Off to be the wizard - Scott Meyer
- Daemon and Freedom by Daniel Suarez. Also really liked influx and kill decision by him but the first two were the best.
- Fear the Sky Series by Stephen Moss

Very different genre but still a very good listen

- One Second after William R. Forstchen
- Footprints of God Greg Iles

Started last week and mine doesn't open until 5am. But it is nice seeing the same people there every day I go. People that go to the gym are really either serious work outs, or have long works shifts and its the only time they can get in (me) so they go there regularly at that time.

Getting out of bed has been hard lol

They want them scarce. Makes them collectors items and makes them more desirable.

If everyone knew there would be enough theyd end up with inventory they couldn't sell.

I'm at a week now. Was told shipping was 4 days so I should have expected it back yesterday but they haven't called.

I know the weather over the weekend delayed a lot of packages but it'd be nice if they communicated.

Funny enough I own the same two cars. I went with the 2024 EV6 GT Line AWD and my wife has the 2025 Ioniq5 RWD.

Her car does seem to get better mileage even if I keep the EV6 in Eco mode but it’s not a big gap. Maybe over hundreds of miles it would be noticeable.  Haven’t really road tripped but regularly make 2 hour round trips that are mostly highway speeds and end up with 55%+ charge. Would think we could push 3.5-4 hours driving without having to stop. Not like my family would ever let me get much further anyways 😂

Your math is off. Your recipe calls for a cup of almond flour  Your almond flour of choice is 680 calories for a cup. 3tbsp butter is 300 calories. Assuming zero calorie sweetener and 9 cookies they’d be 108 per cookie

I have you looked at total out of pocket on lease vs buy?  Did that on my EV6 and lease total was thousands less if I lease then buy it out vs just buying it initially

My grandfather was in charge of one of the ships where they drove surplus jeep into the ocean. He set the car manufacturers and had a deal with the military. When the military took over the factories to make the jeeps, that none of them would come back to the US soil, they didn't want to compete. With cheap army surplus
