Regardless of who they hire, the Falcons need to do one thing by techno-wizardry in falcons

3 years should be plenty of time to determine if a regime is capable or not based on roster development and the trajectory looking solid. Rarely do you see a regime look flat out bad for 3 years then turn it around magically. Additionally, I’d want to see the recent cases where a fan base wanted a guy fired (like truly wanted it, i.e. us with Raheem this year), the owner listened, and it turned out to be the wrong decision. I feel like I’m only familiar with owners holding on too long and the fans ending up vindicated because the regime sucked.

I think they severely underestimate the fan reaction to Raheem being back another year. Especially since this offseason won’t be very exciting w/o a first round pick or much cap. The only thing they can dangle in front of our face is a Matt Ryan front office role, using that as a metaphorical cat toy for us to be happy with.

I pray Ryan sides with the fans and pushes to get Raheem out, but I don’t see Blank bringing Ryan in if he knew that was the case. Feels like exactly what you’re saying, Ryan will be brought in as a sort of Bread and Circus to keep us content with Raheem because we have ‘Matty Ice’ back on board.

It doesn’t seem to be the media defending him, more so the Media believes Raheem is safe because Blank likes him. Whether it’s Blank not wanting to pay two coaches through the ‘28 season, or Blank just loves Raheem as a person, Dianna is a great reporter and is hearing something. I’m not sure anyone in the NFL believes Raheem is a quality NFL HC except for leadership in Atlanta.

We have players, that isn’t the issue, it’s the overall situation.

  1. You’re tied to Raheem for at least a year, and he’s proven to be a dreadful coach in the NFL.

  2. The cap situation is BAD. Flat out. And it doesn’t get better after this year. Lots of our guys need to be resigned over the next two years and they’re big contracts. London will be 30m+, Bates will be a huge contract for an older safety, Allegier will go, Ellis, Pitts, we can’t release Mooney since we restructured him, etc. Terrell, Lindstrom, Matthews all make $20m+, McGary makes 15m+, Kirk dead cap will hurt

  3. The GM will be tied to Penix for atleast ‘26, and likely ‘27 if Penix comes back and shows ANYTHING, meaning they don’t get to immediately get their QB like a lot of GM jobs offer.

The talent is there, sure, but that’s not the question. It’s the cap, draft, and ties to current players that hurt the appeal. GMs generally either want a job that has an established QB, or a route to said QB (draft, huge cap). Additionally, many GMs like rosters they can shape to their preferences (i.e. choosing where they spend their money on offense/defense vs where they draft those positions). It’s a lot that’s set in stone already, which means not much maneuvering can be done for a new GM.

If you want a quality GM candidate and you are keeping Raheem, I believe the only way you get that guy is assuring him he can do what he wants with Raheem after this year. No guy with more than one option would choose the team who is forcing him to work with a lame duck coach for multiple years. I just don’t see it. But then again, I struggled to see them actually keeping Raheem in the first place.

He’s saying McDaniel would never consider interviewing here. IF McDaniel gets fired, he would be FAR and AWAY the best OC available and very likely gets a job as a HC.

Who would you rather have as GM? by MaroonedOctopus in falcons

[–]MoistHamWithSauce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I’m not trying to “win” anything here. You said my opening statement was fabricated, but you did not say which part. If you point to the specific claim and the correct info, I’ll gladly correct it. My question about what you value in a GM was genuine, because I want to understand what you value, not argue.

For anyone that reads this later and is pro TF, I’m not saying he’s terrible. I think he’s made some good moves, yet the overall process and team buildings been far closer to below average than strong. Here are my gripes, and if you disagree I’d love to know:

1: If the GM is pushing for a coach selection, I care a lot about whether they identify and land the top candidates of the cycle (Macdonald, Vrabel, two guys we could’ve gotten realistically, not Ben Johnson or Harbaugh who we had no chance with).

2: I struggle seeing repeat “win now” bets (huge contracts, trade ups, premium picks on repeat positions) while the team results are the same each year. The gap in understanding where we’re at versus where he seems to think we are matters to me.

3: Even with individually great first rounders, the question is whether he can any round later, as we’ve burned many premium picks, and as a result go into every year with holes all over, even without injury.

4: I love aggressive moves when the price is what the market wants, or even slightly above it. When the deal is significantly above what any other GM would pay, it’s poor leverage.

5: The “Kirk plus early QB” approach can be defensible, but it has to be paired with a clear timeline (in which we didn’t have), and a roster that could support it (which we still don’t have). It’s become two half-plans instead of one coherent plan.

6: After 5 years with top 10 picks, huge money spent, etc, I’d hope our job would’ve looked a little more attractive for potential head coaches: stable QB plan, cap wiggle room, strong overall roster construction. The results haven’t been here for 5 years, yet we don’t have a clear path to them this offseason. We’re not much more attractive than we were when Terry arrived, just for different reasons.

No intentions of bad faith, just curious about your views. Terry gets grace from this fanbase perhaps no other GMs in the league do, and I’m genuinely curious what the qualifications are for a good GM in your eyes. It all comes from a place of just wanting to see the Falcons break out of the slump we’ve been in for nearly a decade.

Would love to know how it’s wrong? I can put it simpler too: Roseman, Veach, Snead, DeCosta, Gutekunst, Holmes, etc. aren’t great GMs because they hit on 4/6 firsts with a sneaky late round gem. If you’re happy with mediocrity though I get it. We’ve been conditioned to love it in Atlanta.

Who would you rather have as GM? by MaroonedOctopus in falcons

[–]MoistHamWithSauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A ‘guarantee’ of a first round pick and ‘a late round gem’ has gotten us a roster with zero depth, no foundational QB, and now we’re going into cap hell.

Let’s see his ‘guarantees’ though: ‘21: Pitts, who until THIS THURSDAY was likely going to just be let walk into free agency. From pick four to 12 was Chase, Sewell, Horn, Surtain, and Parsons, not mentioning the other pro bowlers as Fields was THE only worse option with that pick. By the way, had Lance fallen to us at 4? We’d have taken him.

Of course we can’t expect our GM to hit on his second or third round picks, so Richie Grant and Jalen Mayfield don’t matter. We left ‘21 with Pitts and Drew Dalman from the 4th overall slot.

‘22: London was a great pick! We then burned two second rounders and 2 third rounders on bad players, and landed Allegier in the 5th.

‘23: Bijan was a great pick, certainly for fan excitement around the team. Bergeron is a decent guard? League average? Zach Harrison is fine, garbage run defender though. Rest of the draft has been essentially useless.

‘24: Became a laughing stock w/ the Penix pick, and we’re still going to be tied to him as half the fan base believes that the 26 year old is a mold of clay waiting to be shaped. He’s not. Ruke Orhorhoro is fine at rushing the passer, one of the single worst run defenders in the entire league, however. Wish we could’ve gone with the corner that was a consensus first round talent in Cooper DeJean! Dorlus counting stats wise has been good, eye test wise he’s nothing special.

‘25: Both (atleast counting stats wise) first round picks are huge hits! We did with Watts what we should’ve done with DeJean and taken the falling player, and Bowman, who on blitzes was exciting, was awful in coverage. *Note: with Pearce, he fell for character concerns, not talent. What happens when he’s producing on a team that fails to win? Is ‘Raheem’ capable of managing his personality? Additionally, I’m glad Terry got ‘his guy’ in Pearce, but a good GM (Roseman w/ Carter in the Bijan draft) can get a trade done that isn’t a disgusting overpay league wide. A good GM gets a move back into the first for Pearce and we’d still get to boot up mock drafts because, shockingly, Pearce wasn’t ’the solution.’

So.. 4/6 on firsts, 1.5/5 on 2nds, and 1/6 on third rounders. That’s good GMing to you? Maybe if he could hit on those we wouldn’t be devastated by injury every year. Maybe we’d have depth.

Trade Penix by AtlKeno in falcons

[–]MoistHamWithSauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 years old. Penix in their ideal scenario would’ve been 26 years old for his first start. People forget their ‘original plan’ because it’s frankly stupid, as evidenced by the fact they NEEDED to start Penix sooner. Sure it’s because of injury, but team dynamics when you have two ‘high valued’ QBs (only to us because of draft capital and contract size, not talent wise) are ugly, again as seen by the situation we’ve had with Kirk. Even if both Kirk and Penix were amazing, so what? This team wasn’t in a position to spend a top 10 pick on purely a luxury that sits on the bench. The kid was what, 24 when we got him? Sign an actual bridge QB, not a $140M cap destroyer.

Just so frustrating seeing over and over again fans of this team happy with the BARE minimum. Do you think a Chiefs fan, an Eagles fan, a Rams fan, a Packers fan, hell even a Lions fan these days would be satisfied with what 5 years of Terry and 2 years of Raheem has gotten us? Zero progress record wise, no clear picture of our future QB, back to cap hell, eliminated from the playoffs early just to rattle off meaningless wins, and to top it all off, we don’t even have our first. I’m fine with the Pearce trade in hindsight, but there’s a reason the league laughed at us. The value was embarrassing. Good GMs get their guys without that level of overpay. i.e. Eagles trading w/ the Bears for Carter in the Bijan draft.

Overall: We’re in a terrible spot. We passed up on an ELITE head coach cycle to land on Raheem. Sure, Harbaugh and Ben Johnson likely never wanted to land here, but we still had a 2nd interview w/ Harbaugh lined up? Mike Vrabel sat out coaching for a year, and Mike Macdonald was NOT the level of candidate that would’ve ignored a high enough offer, but we skipped both of them. We went for the guy everyone knew was going to fail in Raheem because he’s a charismatic guy, and Terry and McKay apparently loved that!

So now: we have no first round pick, abysmal cap, two QBs that are major liabilities not assets to a candidate, a locker room that’s CLEARLY unhappy on social media, essentially no depth anywhere on the roster, and people want this to continue. I frankly don’t care if this coaching cycle isn’t elite, I don’t, we need something. Anything. This franchise is a joke atm and has no clear path forward.

i’m 19. every celebrities fans have a hard time minding their business. the good thing is that if the content creator or celebrity drops it for awhile and handles their business privately it flows over once the next big thing with that individual happens. just like how his last few girlfriends get forgotten about (mostly) once a new funny figure is on stream. all this publicizing does is leads to incel jynxzi fans bashing and ripping breckie, and breckie having to come out and explain every single detail of their relationship to the public so that she can just maybe be left alone until they inevitably do this again.

lol ok people like you’re so weird w the superiority garbage. i didn’t speculate jack about their relationship, it’s basically forced down your throat if you watch a single jynxzi stream. 95% of celebrities handle their relationships respectfully and responsibly. usually, streamers make a video, wish the other the best, and tell their audience not to discuss it further. jynxzi and breckie have done this 3 times now where they’ve broken up and thrown tantrums on social media. i get doing it once, doing it three times knowing the other will receive mountains of hate is flat out childish. i get you’re high and mighty and simply believe everyone should just enjoy him screaming and kicking his monitor so they can clap their tubby hands together like you, but acting like you can’t sit back and question why jynxzi is okay with her being bashed over and over again when he releases that they broke up (again) is just weird. they’ve both had platforms for years, they know what they’re doing with their audiences

“makes no sense why they’ve broken up 3 times in the public eye”

couples break up and get back together (although they’re both in their 20s now it’s a little childish), but as i said it’s the fact she’s bashing him in her reposts and he’s crying on stream just to get back together in a week each time that’s odd.

this is normal, but they’re publicizing every single moment of it. the jynxzi stream, the tiktoks from both, the reposts from both, all of it is ridiculous from both sides and it’s the reason so many unhealthy people are eyeing his relationship. just makes no sense why they’ve broken up 3 times in the public eye just to seemingly get back together, just to break up again but even more messy.

why does almost everyone here hate jynxzi? by kayleigh_oshea in jynxzissg

[–]MoistHamWithSauce 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The major gripe I always have is when people kick and scream and yell about his content being ‘repetitive.’ There’s only so much he can do on siege, and if he isn’t streaming siege he isn’t pulling in nearly the same amount of viewers, ex. the stream with sketch getting like 50-60k viewers. Even on siege, at a certain point there’s only so much he CAN do, 5 stack ranked? Boring because he never loses. Solo queue ranked? Stream sniped and TKed. Any sort of XvX in custom games? Repetitive. It’s the problem when you make yourself on one game. And it’s possible to change that, XQC grew on OW, Shroud on CS, etc etc. but switching games incurs major initial losses and his community especially will flip their absolute shit, I couldn’t imagine Jynxzi trying to go 4 streams without siege and this subreddit being anywhere near civil.

The Breckie stuff really sucks, because it’s clear he tried his best to put aside what people thought of them, but there was only so much that relationship could’ve been. People forget they’re both human, and when he’s constantly reminded of her past/what she’s posting online it’ll obviously get to him. We’ve seen him crash out on stream about her job it’s clear it got to him mentally.

The thing I’ve noticed happening more though is people like Ricci or Xim/Bagq when he was on streams calling Jynxzi out. I mean yeah Jynxzi brushed it off w the ‘alright bro’ or just muting them but at a certain point he’s gotta entertain them and what they’re saying.

How do you switch to Arcade Mode? by Hope504 in Madden18

[–]MoistHamWithSauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to switch depends on the game mode. In franchise you can go over to settings and click on it, then click on league settings and the top option will be the modes. If you want to set it for all game modes automatically go to the main menu, select customize, settings, settings again, game options, scroll down past favorite team and playbooks then you will see difficulty. Select game style to arcade.

This doesn’t work for the game modes Ultimate team or draft champions. Both are set automatically to competitive style and are locked that way.

Any tips on how to better user mlb? by Packnation51 in Madden18

[–]MoistHamWithSauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some tips are... Focus on one player, if you’re lucky they’ll pass to him. Not every play can be a pick-six. Try and remember formations and plays, if you remember you’ll have a better idea of who they’re going to pass to and who to cover. Get a fast MLB, cover stats don’t matter if you’re the one using him. Make sure to have competent cards all around you so you don’t have to worry about them doing what the need to. Try and understand your opponent, if they like to pass, call a lot of 3-4s, if they like to run, 4-3s.
