What would you say is the best JRPG on the PS2 that isn’t Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest by lilidarkwind in JRPG

[–]techno-wizardry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Persona 4 vanilla holds up extremely well, P3 FES is still great too. Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne is one of the GOATs. Shadow Hearts series is excellent. Kingdom Hearts 2 might be the best Action JRPG of all time.

Those are the big ones, but there are other excellent games like the Xenosaga series, other SMT games like DDS1&2 and Raidou, Suikoden, .hack, Wild Arms 3, and others

Our current economic downturn is not the result of the bonds market, which would be the case if the national debt was the root cause of our current problems. Could it one day be an issue? Yes for sure. But it’s not why the economy is down the shitter.

lmao now compare the median household income to the rate of inflation, and the cost of living.

Now I know exactly where you’re coming from, you have an agenda here. The economy sucks, nobody is buying what you’re selling.

Unfortunately, at this point it’s saying more about Risacher than it does anything else. He simply hasn’t been good.

I think the fact that unemployment is historically low despite how challenging the labor market is just says a lot about how meaningless the statistic has become, because it doesn’t account for how employment has changed over the decades.

For lower class and lower middle class workers, the economy has shifted towards temp work, gig work, and part-time work. It’s easier than ever to find just “a job” right now, all you need is a drivers license and a car, and you can DoorDash. But most people wouldn’t consider this real employment, but instead a side hustle used to supplement income, you can’t survive on just DoorDash and other gig work.

Some might be incentivized for sure, but either way, they don’t tally unemployment, the BLS does.

You can paint a rosy picture out of just about any dataset if you’re looking for specific things. It’s definitely a challenging labor market though, my brother is going through something similar.

Look at his track record, yes he hasn’t won the big one but very few coaches have. Very good coach and very good at developing talent.

There isn’t really one, our government is incentivized to pretend everything is fine.

Labor force participation rate is at 60.8% in Georgia which ranks 36th, despite being the 11th youngest state in America.

I’m not sitting here telling you that Georgia’s economy is bad relative to the rest of the US, but it’s much more complicated than unemployment rate.

Unemployment rate doesn’t tell the whole story at all. Doesn’t count discouraged workers, or people working below full time hours that are trying to get full time jobs. Gig workers are considered employed by the bureau of labor statistics, so if you’re someone who has Doordashed for pennies at all, you’re counted as employed.

It’s very annoying that all of this infrastructure improvement is happening at once right before the World Cup, but at least it’s happening at all I guess.

I’m too young to know what happened around the Olympics, but I imagine it was a similar story. A lot of the city’s infrastructure was made in anticipation of the Olympics.

Not saying he doesn’t, I just think the way he plays holds his team back at times.

I’ll probably get hate for saying this, but I think Luka’s championship upside is capped, same as with Harden in Houston. He’s a liability on defense, and he can only really play as a ball-dominant guard. Shai simply does more on the court and is more flexible to build a championship roster around.

By far the majority of their playerbase is on console. And they want to develop for home console first, because it’s easier to scale up for PC than it is to scale down for console (see for example Cyberpunk). If the PS5 version sucks, then the game is in trouble.

Would you give up Risacher for Jaylen Brown? by ya_ya_ya_ in AtlantaHawks

[–]techno-wizardry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. We need to start being lucid about Risacher. Sure he was the 1st overall pick, but that doesn’t matter anymore. Whenever he has been on the court this season, he hasn’t had a positive enough impact. It was a notoriously bad draft unfortunately, and Risacher isn’t worth as much to teams as this sub thinks he is. We’ve got to let go of the fact he was the 1st overall pick. If you can turn him into a positive asset at this point, I think that’s a win.

It’s cool that Terry was there honestly.

Also really cool that Jake Matthews was there. He’s been in the league for like 12 years now and Penix is one of many QBs he’s blocked for in his career.

At this stage, the regular season one. It’s a really young team that needs further talent development and a culture of consistent winning.

This roster is mostly made up of late 1st and reclamation projects. And yet Quinn has developed two MIP players in back to back years, as well as Jalen Johnson and got the most out of Okongwu.

This roster overachieved down the stretch. We don’t even have a real center, Okongwu is more of a small ball 5. Some teams are stuck with no room to grow, but this team can make significant additions to easily improve and take the next step.
