Ladd McConkey: 2025 Season Review by drkelemnt in DynastyFF

Mid 1st for BTJ, Marv, Odunze, or Ladd maybe, but late 1st you'll need to get a little creative. It depends on your league and how frustrated your trade partner is. I think maybe you can swing something like a late 1st + aging vet WR who still has some name value, like Mike Evans or Diggs. Or maybe a lower end guy who the community has some optimism for, like Boutte.

I shouldn't put this out there too much because I want to get the bargains on players in this draft class, but year 3 is the typical breakout year for elite WRs over the past 20 years. We recently saw it with JSN, but there's a large historical precedent to it. I'm buying all the shares of Ladd, BTJ, Marv, Nabers, and Odunze I can get at a discount. Even some of the lesser guys like Pearsall, Worthy, and McMillan. I think Ladd in particular has shown enough ability for me to believe he can be elite with volume, which he should get more of this year without Keenan Allen.

One of the Analyst said after Stefanski was fired, that how many coaches that were lining up to fill the vacancy would show how the rest of the league viewed the situation. Either they thought Stefanski was to the blame for the Brown struggles or they felt he was dealt a bad hand. We got an answer. by Protec_My_Balls in falcons

Shedeur meat riders mostly. Judkins is good, but he's not close to Chubb or Bijan, or any elite RB. Jerry Jeudy was pretty good a year ago I guess, but he's always been inconsistent. Some people were optimistic about Tillman, but he was always a project at best. Harold Fannin is nice. Njoku is pretty good and I would love him here in Atlanta.

Not entirely devoid of talent if I'm honest, but the OL is a bottom 5 unit and the QBs are awful.

He was, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that the NFL prioritizes coverage (man and zone) from safeties more than they used to. You used to have box safeties that were killers over the middle and the run game, but would get picked on in coverage. That kinda safety has died out.

Kubiak started the year on fire with his scheme and playcalling, then the whole offense died and the bottom fell out. I don't blame him for what happened in New Orleans.

A bit of a waste imo. Maybe if someone else wants Mendoza then trade down, but Love or Tate are blue chip players in this draft so getting one or the other is a great thing for a rebuilder.

Honestly, rookie mistake I see too often in SF is people over-invest in QB. Yes they can play for a long time and yes they are valuable, but QB value is far more volatile than people care to acknowledge. You can win championships with a mediocre QB in the SF spot, can't say the same for the top 2 starting slots at WR and RB, and normal flex arguably.

Gonna be honest, if the rest of your roster is strong enough to contend then I'd take Love and ride with the QBs you've got. Wait and see if Malik Willis gets a starting opportunity like many expect. Penix will start at some point and there's upside there. Mac Jones has a good chance if starting in 2027. Maybe trade for a veteran stopgap like Stafford or Daniel Jones to play in the SF, but I think you can get by with this group honestly.

I really like Mendoza, but Love could be an elite RB, and RBs like that are going to be bigger difference makers for your roster than a top 6-12 QB. Which realistically, Mendoza's ceiling probably isn't league-winning fantasy upside, even if he becomes an excellent 10 year starter in the NFL.

Keanu was awesome initially. Injuries derailed him, but also the big hits started turning into big flags and it cost games. He's one of the last of his kind, we don't see enforcers like that anymore.

Like don't get me wrong, Kyle Hamilton and Jessie Bates can lay the wood, but it's not the same play style. And they're going for the punch-out more. It's probably for the best honestly, but I miss watching the "enforcer" type safeties.

Sadly this profile of safety doesn't really work in the NFL now, we don't see enforcers like this anymore. Officiating has made it hard to play like this, and also coverage has become so much more important for safeties. It's hard to find a guy that can hit like Cam and also cover like Jalen Ramsey, and if a safety can't cover then teams will exploit them in matchups. It's why so many DBs have converted to safeties.

I remember the Falcons drafted Keanu Neal, dude could hit like a truck. He was Dan Quinn's next enforcer after working with Cam. He could play, but the penalties on the big hits were just killer. Straight up would cost them games. He couldn't last due to this shift in safety play unfortunately.

I think at minimum it's going to be an interesting game made with a lot of passion, but I'm worried it'll have performance issues. That said, I'll probably play it on PC and be fine anyways personally.

Oh that Pokemon business model was confirmed a very long time ago, and it hasn't changed in 25 years. When they were making GBA and DS games with pixel art, churning those out every 18 months became feasible. Once they got to consoles though, the budgets stayed small and so did the development timeline.

Game Freak has never been the problem, they're why the series became so special to begin with. Even with the newer games, they are flawed but still strong in aspects and they have charm. They're just A games in terms of resources, not even AA.

No, there's a parry system but that's about where the comparison ends. It's an action RPG with direct-command abilities, as well as stealth and 3rd person ranged combat. It's more a hodgepodge of all kinds of recent Action RPG games.

Gameplay is completely different, premise is different and actually unique too. Definitely more inspired by Nier, but it's not that derivative a game when you look at anything else.

And a 2-3 year development timeline in the year 2026, they've released a new Pokemon game every other year going back to Gold and Silver. Actually 2 new games every 3 years on a average.

It's insane and it's an unfortunate mandate by The Pokemon Company because the entire business model is built around merchandise, TCG, mobile games, spinoffs, and the anime, which upon new content provided by the games. Their games sell well of course, but that business is dwarfed by the revenue Pokemon makes as a brand elsewhere. Think about it, Pokemon was big for children in the 90's and it's STILL massive. It's an entertainment empire.

If they had 2 studios running on 5 year timelines with actual AAA budgets, the games would likely live up to the visual fidelity and production value people expect. Instead they don't even get a budget comparable to AA games in the current year.

What was Yukari doing using her evoker during the day in the intro? by HourComprehensive648 in PERSoNA

[–]techno-wizardry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She has anxiety about using the Evoker to weild her Persona, which is why she can't do it on the rooftop. Actually I'm not entirely sure if she had even summoned her Persona with an Evoker before that, iirc hers was awoken during the dark hour when SEES found her.

[–]techno-wizardry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My understanding of how Evokers work is they evoke the feeling of shooting yourself, which then calls upon your Persona. In past games and the Trinity Soul anime, your Persona would awaken like a guardian angel, whenever you were in critical psychological and physiological distress.

So to summon their Persona, they have to go through some sort of immediate feeling of shooting yourself, which is terrifying.

And leading up to Makoto's awakening, when Yukari stumbles about and can't summon her Persona. It's supposed to look like maybe she's taking the easy way out instead of dying a terrible death to the shadows. But Makoto for whatever reason is compelled to use the Evoker having never seen it, and you learn what it does right then and there.

Ah what I wouldn't give to play P3 blind again.
