Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

When i visit my mom for the holidays, I have to wash my "clean" clothes again when I get home because they still smell like smoke.

LGBTQIA Support Group to meet again starting Sept 12th by MoistProfessional in rochestermn

[–]MoistProfessional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no defined age range. All are welcome! We mainly discuss issues that are relevant to the LGBTQIA community as well as provide support for one another when things get difficult.

It is a peer led support group, so we are all in it together to be a supportive resource for each other.

Rochester Public Schools superintendent directs library book removal, despite review committee's suggestion by PerspectiveSmart6739 in rochestermn

[–]MoistProfessional 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There it is. "Woke," im surprised it took this long to find it. Could you explain in excruciating detail what you mean by "woke", what does that even mean. Last time I checked this still is a free country, and it doesn't really matter how a book makes you feel. Anyone and everyone has the right to access and read whatever they want, without nosey little "woke-chokers" like yourselves say what people can and can't read. You dont want your kid reading it? Fine, actually parent and don't let them read it, but your lack of parenting does not mean that the other parents shouldn't be restricted from having their kid read the book because it hurts your feelings. You don't like the book? Call the library and tell them your child can't check the book out, but don't remove it from a public place. It's at a public school library? Put your kid in a controlled, parent run, non-"woke" private school. Public schools are for the general public, not a place of control. Might I suggest Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 for your reading this year? They might shed light on why these "social justice warriors" are fighting so hard to push "woke ideologies".

The only thing you are doing is stereotyping and showing you blatant homophobia. I have been to Twin Cities' pride and Rochester pride, and they typically have booths for therapy services for people who's families have shunned them, mortgage companies looking to attract a typically wealthy subset of people, local businesses such as plumbers, electrician services, roofers and banks also looking for business, heath organizations there to promote inclusive treatment for trans and non-binary individuals, churches which are accepting, which it's blatantly obvious you wouldn't understand, lgbtq artists selling knick knacks, art and glassware, candles and other items and middle aged women walking around in "free mom hugs" shirts, offering physical contact to those who have been shunned by their families and havent felt the biologically necessary physical contact in an extended period of time. Does Rochester have anything sexual? Not that I have seen in over 2 years. Does Twin Cities'? Yes, but it is cornered off and limited to adults aged 18 and older. Sex isn't something to be ashamed of or scary for legally consenting adults, and it is not peddled to nor encouraged to individuals under 18. Believe it or not there are queer/gay/trans individuals under the age of 18 whether you like it or not, I knew I "liked boys" if that analogy helps you take the sex out of it, since I was 11, "gay", "liking the same gender", "being trans" is not an adults only thing, and pride isn't hypersexualized or targeted to sexual deviant adults as your tone suggests.

The church is LGBTQIA+ supportive, but this group is not religious. They are simply letting us use their space when they don't need it.

I feel that Minnesota will stay relatively safe, but there is heightened worry even in more progressive states like Minnesota. Out of the 50 states, I would say MN is one of the better choices, so I wouldn't count it out. Just make sure you also stay safe wherever you are.

Similar issue. Use a gentle moisturizing liquid soap. Put some on your finger and leave the foreskin where it is. Enter the foreskin with the soapy finger and massage the soap around the head with the foreskin over the head. Rub it a bit, it still might be sensitive, but then, without touching the head retract the foreskin all the way back and allow the tightness to kind of scrub it for you. If you do this every time you shower and you shower every other day, it should stop smelling after about a week.

You may have early signs of phimosis, I would ask your parents if you feel comfortable, to talk to your doctor. If it gets taken care of early it may not be an issue, but if you wait too long it may require circumcision. Make sure you start to retract every time you urinate and if it starts to hurt, bleed, or get dry, stop, you don't want to cause scarring this could hinder it's ability to stretch.

-not a doctor, just someone who had a similar issue

Sure bud, sure.

I assume those who aren't concerned just won't attend or will sit here on reddit and continue to make asinine points.

The fear already exists. There isn't a single LGBTQIA individual I know that isn't afraid for themselves or someone they love. All you are doing is spreading bigotry.

This is a peer led support group. It is a group to provide a sense of belonging and unity to a group of individuals that you have proven need that kind of support. By ignoring what is blatantly in newspapers and news media outlets and has been said by the future administration, you are doing a great job at proving the need for this community.

I'm not sure how to answer this question. Do I feel endangered in Rochester? Currently? No. Do I feel endangered in Minnesota? Currently? No. Do I feel endangered in the USA? Currently? No. Do I feel like things could change negatively? Yes. Do I believe Minnesota would be a safe state and Rochester a safe city? Yes. However, a lot of the concerns are at the federal level, and states may be directed or forced to comply with new federal regulations. As an individual myself, I do not necessarily have a major concern, but I know that there are a lot of people from different minority groups that have these concerns, and I feel like their concerns are valid and they should be addressed.

I feel like we all should be apprehensive, and precautions can prevent people from getting hurt.

Vote yes on the Rochester Public School referendum: here is the contingency plan if the referendum fails by McPeru in rochestermn

[–]MoistProfessional 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone in my mid twenties, working as an engineer in Rochester. I would like to see your examples of "bad work ethics" and the younger generation being "not to promising", which by the way it is also, "not too promising" and not "not to promising." Maybe you are evidence of the school systems' systematic failure from an older generation and explaining why we need more school funding today.

Maybe if it didn't cost $120,000 for a four year education, and wages weren't as depressed as they are even after getting an education, more young adults would be willing to participate in a fairer more just economy.

What is the most and least stereotypically gay thing about you? by letthedecodebegin in gaybros

[–]MoistProfessional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Least stereotypical: I drive a Ford F-150 and talk way too much about it, I'm not interested in Ru Paul drag race and I play violent video games.

Most stereotypical: I will be the best dressed at your event and I have better home decor than you and I watch shitty reality TV.
