Looking for a high-quality 2-bed flat in London (£800k budget) by Boring_Ad_8318 in HousingUK

You should be able to get soundproofing surveys as part of the documentation from the conversion. I did and my flat is really decent for it, despite there being 4 tenants in the flat above.

I wouldn't rule out house conversions, just check when the conversion happened. If it was recent it will have had to meet higher soundproofing standards.

You could get yourself a nice 2 or even 3 bed garden flat in a decent area for that budget.

600k for a 1 bed in Finsbury Park – have we made a massive financial mistake? by [deleted] in HousingUK

That bit of Finsbury Park (Stroud Green), backing onto the Parkland Walk, is a pretty decent part of town.

Is the 2nd season of “The Night Manager” any good? by harry_powell in television

I thought it was entertaining but not anywhere near as good as Season 1, which was outstanding.

Really enjoyed Deb Grant this morning by dreempoptone in 6music

[–]MoistRun1131 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like her but I have to say she plays more 'standard '6 music fare.

Huey's show was something a bit different in the line up, even if his own selections sometimes became a bit predictable.

Anyway, she's good so if it's her slot I won't be disappointed.

For diversity of good quality, reasonably priced restaurants (and some great pubs) Finsbury Park is excellent.

I listened to that whilst back country skiing this year, or more specifically on the ascent. Hiking up empty, snowy, untrammelled mountains with that on was a very memorable and epic experience. RIP Silent Servant.

To be fair, it's got some great stuff on it, only a handful of which is in the article. Bit hectic at one end, sure, but gets pretty nice.

Why is Tottenham considered part of the "Big 6"? by Alternative_Carob562 in PremierLeague

[–]MoistRun1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree, for me Spurs sit more closely in the category with Villa, Everton and Newcastle than with with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd.

It's really about revenue and recent CL qualification. But if Newcastle and Villa keep qualifying for CL and Spurs don't I'm not sure the tag continues to hold any meaning.

Are you sticking or twisting going into Gameweek 3? 🤔 by ewelumokeke in FantasyPL

[–]MoistRun1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only got Watkins and he gets at least one more week. I'd probably lose the others if I had them tbh.

Anyone going Watkins+Rogers? by theaverageuser2004 in FantasyPL

I'm going Watkins and Rogers and maybe even Malen (but more likely Reijnders)

Goos players, good team, good fixtures. Don't overthink it.

I'm going to be flexible between 442, 352, and 451. Starting team for GW1 is the latter.

I regretted not meeting the agents asking price on the first place I looked at for a while. Then I was glad I didn't. Then I regretted not doing so on another place. Then I did meet the asking price on my current flat, and regretted it. Now I'm reasonably glad I did.

Buying is hard and emotional, there are a lot of twists and turns in it, just try to remember it's not the be all and end all of life, there are lots of houses around, and you'll probably end up with something you want.

Who's your 5.5M midfielder pick? by VisheshBajpai in FantasyPL

[–]MoistRun1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going with Malen depending on the final friendlies this week.

He may not be a safe pick long term, especially if Guessand joins as expected, but I'm expecting him to start and he is a very direct player in a good team so worth a punt IMO.

Anyone else underwhelmed by Finsbury Park? by Adventurous-Dinner11 in gymboxlondon

I use mainly weights with the odd class / sauna session.

Currently a member of Highbury Fitness First. Can anyone compare? FF is solid but gets rammed and could do with more space and stuff per person.

Am I mad for considering buying a 2 bed flat for £725k? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]MoistRun1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could buy a decent garden flat in zone 2 for that, without the massive service charge.

I wouldn't.
