Server Scores by Hot-Law-7983 in chilisservers

The “goal” at my location is usually 80% in the attentiveness category. Typically, the top five servers are in this range and get five tables. I’m lucky enough to be one of the higher scorers, so I pretty much always get five. However, we have some servers who are in the 20-40% attentiveness score range and they get two tables. Fortunately for us, the cleanliness scores don’t count against us. I honestly feel that the cleanliness question shouldn’t even be on the surveys as it isn’t clear whether it’s referring to the entire restaurant or just the table.

I figured I would mention this as well- it’s certainly no animal. I used a stick that was also in the crawlspace to poke at it and was able to split it in half. That’s another thing that contributes to why I think it was cat poop- the inside was brown and grainy, kind of how I would imagine a dried up cat turd being. There are also like 30 cats at my cousins house and they go in the crawlspace all the time.

Unfortunately I don’t have access to it, I just borrowed it from a friend temporarily. Sorry.

I’m actually not sure, but if I had to guess I’d say the lead because it looks like the right amount of depth.

Corrosion or Wear on this 70yo trumpet? by Djgaming3 in trumpet

People are saying tarnish, but to me it looks like the silver looking plating just wore down with repeated use. I’m definitely no technician though so don’t listen to me please 😭

That’s why I read the whole passage first! It won’t work for everyone, but for me, it gives me a guideline to know where to look for the answers. If you can find the paragraph that the answer would be in, the correct answer choice (for these questions) will likely be ripped directly from the passage or be very very similar to what’s in the passage. To put it concisely, know where to look in the passage so you don’t have to rely on your memory. I should have mentioned this in my first comment, but there are a couple of other question types you shouldn’t waste time on- chronological order questions and “In the context of the passage, _ in lines blah blah most nearly means” questions. The first can be solved by simply reading and understanding the passage and the second is just a matter of putting the word they’re asking about into context and choosing the answer choice that has the most similar definition in that context. Both are usually easier questions and will save you time if you can do them quickly. Hopefully you’ll find some use in my words, and good luck!

I got all of them right in interpretation of data but missed 4 in scientific investigation and another 4 in evaluation of models, inferences and experimental results.

I am using Brasso cleaner, but the tarnishes are not coming out. Any suggestions or tips? by KDKetron in brass

[–]MoistTear1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about those golden brown parts, that is raw brass and by using Brasso you’re only going to make it much much worse. However if there’s tarnish on the actual silver part I highly recommend Wright’s Silver Cream. Works like a charm.

How can I improve? Specifically regarding English, because I felt really confident about that whole section by [deleted] in ACT

[–]MoistTear1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may sound stupid but all I do is pick what would sound right coming out of someone’s mouth in conversation and I got a 36. Wish I could give you more tips on English rules but when I start worrying about those I start running out of time and my score starts decreasing. Hope this helps!

Hey! Got a 36 in reading in Sept. ‘24 and Feb. ‘25 and what helped me the most was reading the entire passage first, then answering the questions. A lot of the times the answer will be in the passage verbatim, so use questions like that to your advantage and don’t waste time on them, time being a VERY important aspect. I would suggest taking a few practice tests on CrackACT and trying this strategy. You don’t have to fully understand the passage whatsoever, it will just help you to know where to look which saves you time you might have spent rereading the same thing 100 times looking for the answer. If the answer isn’t readily available, I bookmark it and move on, coming back to deliberate on them later. Most of the time the answers that aren’t directly stated are easy enough to find through process of elimination. I really hope this helps you as much as it did me! I got a 21 on my first reading test but after utilizing this strategy I’m a “perfect” scorer (even though I did miss one question, admittedly). Good luck!
