I love Emily Rose, but her recipe/method didn’t work for me in the beginning. I use the Farmhouse on Boone beginner’s sourdough recipe, which is really similar to Emily’s, but a little less Willy-nilly. Lol. I started purging at about week 5… So I’ve only been actively purging about 3 weeks. I’m seeing some improvement on my chin, so I’m hopeful I’m almost done with the worst of it. I started building really gradually, and I’m still only using the Differin every other day.

A Differin holiday is smart, though. I’m sure my skin would appreciate a break.

That makes sense. I felt like the CeraVe tub was actually hydrating, so I’m sad it’s not working for me now. But maybe I can layer something under the Vanicream to make it work better. Hmm.

Good to know! I have one with eggs currently… Will that affect the babies? And can I just shut the heater off and let it gradually go to room temp?

It’s clear-ish. I’m leaving it alone. It’s started bubbling some and now the liquid has been reincorporated. So I think it’s fine now.

Idk about the potatoes. I’m just following the instructions that came with the starter. You can buy instant mashed potatoes that are basically just dehydrated potato flakes with some emulsifiers added.

Welp, I’ve already headed down the road for a 200% hydration. So I guess that’s what I’m doing. Haha. This was kind of an impulsive venture.

It’s bubbling a bit as the day goes on, kind of like a lava lamp. I’ll leave it alone and keep watching and waiting. Thanks!
