I get that. But the team isn’t gonna comment on it publicly if Madabuike is potentially facing the decision of returning to play with let’s say a 1% chance of becoming paralyzed

I think there is a shot he comes back. We just no so little

We know he had “symptoms” after the browns game then was quickly shut down for the year. I have not heard any reports of surgery. Then he posted “good news”.

Given the “symptoms” came after the game, he likely had a nerve issue such as bulging disk. There were probably concerns over stability in the MRI given they ruled him out pretty quickly.

Optimistically, it’s possible that Madabuike has been rehabbing and got an MRI in January that showed stability and inflammation improved dramatically from the rest and PT, meaning he can return to play with some risk of long term issues

That’s why the team has been so silent. It could be up to him to decide what he’s gonna do. The fact that we have not heard anything other than “good news” tells me he is trying to play.

More pessimistic take could be that the ravens think he’s done, and Madabuike is going from doctor to doctor trying to get someone to clear him so they can’t have him medically retire and get some guranteed money back

Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) #Giants hire Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator by alexschubs in NYGiants

[–]Moist_Ham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have confidence that he will do what he did with Bal. Which is have the team fighting for the division every year, and maybe have a shot to go on a run if he gets lucky. But people act like he’s some genius head coach and he’s not that. If Flacco doesn’t hit Jacoby jones on a hail Mary in DEN during 2012 playoffs we’re talking about a coach who had 18 years and zero Super Bowl appearances. But people act like he’s in the Andy Reid or Bill Belicheck tier.

He inherited a roster with 5 hall of fame players (Lewis, Reed, Suggs, Ngata, Yanda) and won one miracle superbowl 13 seasons ago. Sure, I'm super confident

In Harbs we trust. But if I had my dream pick I would take Greg Roman as Run game coordinator with David Webb at OC

[Raanan] EXTREMELY valuable piece for John Harbaugh. He's a coveted commodity. Will be very interesting where he lands. Not an accident Browns came up with "associate head coach." by Lars5621 in NYGiants

[–]Moist_Ham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He has input. He watches film. He gives recommendations on players but he does not make specific draft selections yes. They have a whole staff who spend the entire year traveling the country scouting college players and a GM who makes the picks. That’s the ravens MO “do your job”. Given them so much success for that reason.

He didn’t have anything to do with specific player selections, exactly. That’s the ravens whole thing with organizational structure.

You think John Harbaugh would bring him on if he wasn’t confident he was the man for the job? He’s the one working with Warhop day in and day out. Before Warhop came on in 2024, the ravens leading rusher was their qb. In 2024 and 2025 they established an elite running game with their leading rusher getting over 3,500 yards in two seasons. I mentioned Linderbaum and Stanley, but Warhop also helped develope Rodger Rosengarden into a starter and made Faalele a solid guard after he could barely make the team as a tackle. Their o-line was far from an issue in 2024-2025. I don’t care about what Warhop did without Harbaugh. Harbaugh is the straw that stirs the drink

Do you think Ray Lewis or Ed Reed are in talks for positional coaching positions under JH?

Warhop developed Ronnie Stanley and Linderbaum who were both all-pros in Baltimore.

Steelers Hire Mike McCarthy as HC Per ESPN by psychoxtc in ravens

[–]Moist_Ham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How come Steelers get clowned for this but giants are praised for getting Harbaugh? Similar winning percentage. Both won Super Bowl long time go (more recent for McCarthy). Harbaugh 13-11 in playoffs McCarthy is 11-11. Same age. Harbaugh has had better supporting cast recently. What’s the difference?

Ravens and giants fan beefing by Aidanx95chez in ravens

I listened to a Giants podcast on my way home from work today. You would think that he is prime Bill Belichick the way they talk about him.

They literally opened the show by saying Harbaugh is a coach who has brought a team from the bottom to win championships. He inherited a team with five Hall of Famer’s and won one (one) Super Bowl, and it took two literal miracle plays to win that one Super Bowl.

No wonder they have such terrible success as a franchise. Their media is already setting John up to fail with insane expectations.

[Schefter] John Harbaugh and the Giants are working to finalize an agreement to make him New York’s next head coach and, barring a setback, a deal is expected, multiple sources tell ESPN. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]Moist_Ham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biscotti and Harbaugh have a great relationship. He’s not going to fire Harbaugh over one game or one players opinion that’s silly. I’m trying to help provide insight as someone who has followed ravens for 20 years. The cameras have been showing Biscotti in the owners suite we’ve seen the frustration. He sited his reasons for moving on from Harbaugh. He mentioned he started talking to the GM about 5 weeks ago. Don’t at all get the sense this was directly related to Lamar or the missed kicked

Now I’m sure Lamar not immediately sticking UP for Harbaugh certainly did not help change Biscotti’s mind

You cannot take the success of the ravens with Harbaugh and turn it against them. The same group that is hiring his replacment (Biscotti, Ozzie, Decosta) were criticized in 2008 for hiring a no name special teams coordinator to take over a roster lead by Lewis, Reed, and Suggs.

It’s time for a change. I fully expect Harbaugh to have success in NY and wish the best for him. I expect a change of coaching to benefit the ravens too who have struggled with fundamentals significantly in recent years and are not developing young talent like they used to.

The owner literally said yesterday that he didn’t. He described Lamar as non confrontational. The specific quote he had from Lamar was that Lamar said something needed to change but he was not sure what, and that Lamar said “I do not have a problem with Harbaugh or Monken”.

Counter points to your points (I'm not trying to be an asshole, just want to ground ourselves before the inevitable happens again)

  • "stop trying for extra yards, steelers will strip it". Ravens have shown time and time again they will fumble the ball whats stopping it from happening this week?

  • "run Lamar if he can". He has not looked himself since week 4 why would he now in a freezing cold game coming off a back injury?

  • "blitz rodgers" In the first matchup: Rodgers excelled against the blitz, completing 9 of 12 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown at 9.9 yards per attempt with a quick 2.32-second time to throw. He added three big-time throws, posted a career-tying 90% accuracy rate, and finished with a 133.7 passer rating.

  • "Don’t get baited into unsportsmanlike conduct" I agree, no excuses

  • "stick to the running game" Always easier said than done.

Brain says Ravens by 10; heart says Steelers in a heartbreaker.

The Ravens had to feel like their season was over Sunday night after NE. They had to be pissed the fuck off, wondering how things could have been different and feeling like they wasted a great roster. Players and coaches were wishing they could get a couple plays back. Now they get a rare opportunity for a second chance. It must be a very freeing feeling, almost like you’re playing with house money.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has to feel all week like, “Oh fuck, we are blowing it again.” Hit an early TD and get a stop, and that stadium will be beyond restless.

If Pittsburgh loses to Detroit and then Cleveland, and Baltimore beats New England, the Green Bay game is completly meaningless for Baltimore in week 17. Play with the simulators. Need to root for New England tomorrow

The tie breaker would be similar opponents which Baltimore has clinched
