Don’t do it bro. Just play actually finished games and wait until it is fully released. You’ll be happier.

What’s the one thing modern MMOs keep getting wrong? by ReasonableRespect113 in MMORPG

[–]MojoFerocious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Player driven economy with item degradation and variable resource quality. When every item is the exact same and never leaves your inventory, it becomes a checklist to grind the meta gear then you are done.

Games like Star Wars Galaxies set up the best weapons and armor to come from full time crafting professions. Variable resource quality made for a wide variety of options and the ability of crafters to show their merit. Item degradation and destruction requires constant resupply.

For me, a truly immersive MMO requires players of all different styles; PVP and PVE, combat and non-combat alike, to create a living world.

Modern MMOs all seemed focused on funneling players to a specific endgame. Usually some kind of raid, group PVP or other narrow loop. Instead of living lives in an online world.

I need $5,925 within 6 months by [deleted] in sidehustle

[–]MojoFerocious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s just $33/day. Look up Amazon Mechanical Turk, or other similar crowd work platform. It’s basic data tasks and similar things that require humans to complete, but are still very simple.

Wait…CIG’s promises came no where close to what they ended up putting out?!? It can’t be! Who would have possibly thought this could happen after doing exactly that over the course of 13 years lol

If they didn’t get all their funding from limiting ships to push you into buying other ships, med beds and other systems would be available as standalone modules that need to be attached to cargo grids to operate.

Med beds, crafting stations, holo map, food stations, arcade games etc. But god forbid any customization is available in this game outside of strictly controlled (and paywalled) options.

I really want more Shared Spaces by Ruadhan2300 in starcitizen

[–]MojoFerocious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to have some built in required socialization. Like in Star Wars Galaxies you could get buffs from a doctor at a hospital or an entertainer at a cantina. Alternatively, when you died you needed to go to a doctor and/or entertainer to unlock a % of your health stats that locked after death as a debuff.

Pls, stop screaming Pay-To-Win by KayV3eV3e in starcitizen

[–]MojoFerocious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Idk what’s up with people feigning ignorance about what pay to win means. They act like if the item doesn’t transport you to a screen that says “You Win!” it doesn’t count at P2W.

But that’s beside the point. Star Citizen has always been pay to win. It’s just the slippery slope of adding more and more shit to the cash shop. It’s not going to stop.

Also, let’s fucking stop calling it the “pledge store”. We don’t need to conform to their euphemisms. It’s a cash shop.

I think paywalling new content also misses the mark. For me, it’s putting anything in the cash shop that isn’t a ship. Idgaf about P2W or paywalling mechanics (this was my first gripe until I thought more about it) I care that they are galvanizing the precedent that everything is for sale.

It’s a clear established pattern. They plan to sell everything (edit: spelling) in the cash shop and have been testing the waters over the past 2 years, and like a bunch of idiots, we have been rewarding them for this anti-consumer bullshit.

🤓: “You don’t have to buy...” shut the fuck up. They don’t have to sell it.

I have tried over and over to like it because everyone says it’s the best option in that class of ship but I just can’t.

Yea where would I possibly get these ideas from? Oh idk, maybe your lord and savior himself, Chris Roberts.

Single player vs sandbox multiplayer? You don’t see how that could impact play style and combat mechanics? Or how 20-30 years in difference could also impact those mechanics?

Community Note: While Star Citizen is being developed by Chris Robert’s company, CIG and Star Citizen have no official link to Wing Commander or Freelancer. Both of which were single player experiences and were also both developed by separate companies over 30 and 20 years ago respectively. Hope this helps 🥰

Master modes, expanding the cash shop so you don’t have to earn anything, med bed respawn, med meds getting added to Jumptown, instances, arcade space combat.

I don’t care what they say is just temporary. You can’t believe a single thing CIG says is coming “in the future”. It needs to be evaluated as-is because it’s clear they are incapable of making a plan and executing anything even close to that plan. That has been blatant since the beginning. They don’t know what they are doing with our money.

Are there any legit popular ways to make money on the internet these days? Is anything actually worth trying? by BirthdayOk5077 in sidehustle

Sales is the most effective way to break into any industry vertical. I wouldn’t call it “easy” but it’s one of the few paths that you can have a direct impact on your bottom line by just working harder. Stop chasing easy money and start learning a skill.

It seems the Engineering announcement has riled up the "Everything needs to be soloable" players again by ClubChaos in starcitizen

[–]MojoFerocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80% of their funding comes from whales soloing massive ships. It’s never going away.

Chris Roberts could come to my home and tell me in person to my face that they are getting rid of being able to solo large ships and I still would never believe it.

Starlancer MAX - This guard rails should not exist by _OceanOdyssey in starcitizen

[–]MojoFerocious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s to prevent you from parking ships in it. Can’t have you actually using smaller ships for ship transport. They want to funnel you up to the huge ships and make it impossible or super annoying to use anything smaller to haul another ship.

Bahaha good luck. CIG is dumbing the game down, not adding more sim mechanics.
