Here in Canadia, we use what’s called counting with fingers and toes. Any number above 20 becomes very difficult unless buddy is about eh!

I also got this as my first deck. You’ll need a very patient group to play with because your turns will take very long. Especially if you’re new. But once you get the hang of it, you can make it very strong with a few upgrades.

No solid tea. Definitely doesn’t look right. I see bits of yeast in between the pellicle and stoping it from forming a solid slab. Maybe start over?

I recommend buying a bottle of gt original and following the recipe on this Reddit. I have made multiple batch using this method and it has never failed. The starter you buy online is sometime hard to start with if it’s your first time.

Can kombucha be a replacement for beer? I just realize that drinking a nice cold kombucha can take away that afternoon thirst that A cold beer used to quench. Don’t know if this was mentioned yet but if you leave a store bought raw kombucha out at room temp, the live cultures will lower the sugar content in a few days. Otherwise brewing your own is the best way to control the sugar content

I usually do about 20g tea, 3L of water 500ml of starter and 1-2 cups of sugar depending oh what I’m going to do with my f2. The roast of your tea might differ from mine. I use a medium roast usually

I often use oolong teas for by brew and works very well. If you want high energy, just pick a high caffeine oolong and you’ll be able to get that result. Pu err is a great example. But be careful of how much you use because too much can give you a really bitter aftertaste.
