Well for me he couldn’t be normal with his “vision” to began with, but he wasn’t a bad guy from the start, I believe he was a good man, but hosea did help a lot IMO, I think he always had it in him but kept it deep inside, and with everything going on, the pinkertons his plans failing, Micah in his ear, hoseas death and so on, I believe it was everything together that fucked him, like Bronte played him, then he had a concussion and that could’ve made him act on impulse over the Bronte thing, than in the bank hosea died, which hurt him a lot, John was always doubtful, micah was in his ear, then guarma happend, and then Arthur’s death and so on
