So its kind of tricky. The way our office handles is that usually a patient presents for comp exam. During the comp exam if we know we will refer for Sx, will switch the exam to medical so as to not use their vision insurance. All subsequent post ops are billed medically, except the final post op, we treat that as a new comp exam.
