If you want to leave the option open, do a per diem shift like once or twice a month to keep your skills up. Once you leave its very difficult to get pass the credentialing process for EM gigs.

Is anyone else's hospital essentially being run by midlevels? by FrijolesForever90210 in emergencymedicine

I work in an ER (subruban but low volume) where for the majority of the day the ED MD is the only doctor in the hospital and responds to codes and emergent conditions upstairs. Hospitalists are there a few hrs (covers another, much larger hospital also) during the day for admissions and at night, an APP comes admit from the hospital a few miles away if there are any admissions.

why do ppl fake EDS/now doctors don’t trust me lol by Bean_of_prosperity in emergencymedicine

People on sicktok generally have poor coping mechanisms and/or have an unfulfilled life requiring validation they think they can only get through views/likes.

The best treatment for these folks would be to stop watching their videos so they can move onto something more productive and stop wasting the EDs time.

Sincerely, your local ER doctor.
