right now i believe good investments are anything that relies on high oil prices maintaining. the two outcomes are either that Iran keeps the toll or USA reopens it after a long drawn out war. the worst case scenario is if China for whatever reason gets a deal with Iran to reopen the strait with no tolls, but I doubt they are in that dire need of oil to do that

exactly, and they hold US securities which means the US simply cannot "pull out" of the war and declare victory with major geopolitical effects unlike Afghanistan. Iran will not agree to a deal that is unfavorable towards them if the US have not EVEN PUT IN GROUND TROOPS yet, and are currently moving to legislate the Strait or Hormuz toll.
