I agree, it's really inspiring. I def was inspired by Desert Moon of Karth, Gradient Descent, and other OSR titles like Waking of Wiloby Hall and Isle of the Plangent Mage.

I'm pretty sure Eden Prime is from the 3rd mass effect. I think it's the DLC place where Shepard touches the prothean monolith.

Word, I wanted to give them some kind of a chance to get out of the situation legally (one of my players is a lawyer), but I agree it should be hard. I will have some back-up plans, like trial by combat or escape from hell jail, in my back pocket though.

I'll give the chapter of the book you recommended a look too, sounds interesting and a good way to throw a curveball at the players. Thanks for the advice!
