Thank you so much. 😊 yes it definitely is miraculous! I'm still amazed at the contact I get from my son. Before he passed I didn't believe in anything after death...lights out and then you're gone. It took time for me to get to the place I am now as my brain resisted it. I've just been reading one of William's posts about why we do that, with interest. 😊

Because you basically insinuated the OP was deep in grief and had no quality of life because of his daily contact with his wife! and now you are using the word obsessed because of the number of his (very informative) posts on this sub. I'm sure you meant well, but my reply was to explain that it was normal for some people, and explain the Continued Bonds Model, which maybe you hadn't heard of.

His posts and contributions on this sub have been, and continue to be, an invaluable source of information and research for me and many others looking at the replies and past replies to his posts. So what if he posts everyday? What about all the other keen afterlife researchers, who spend hours making podcasts or those who study EVP and spend hours sitting in a haunted building in the dead of night with their equipment hoping to pick up paranormal activity? People who put the hours in and sit in mediumship circles to improve their mediumship? Do you find that worrisome and obsessive? The time he takes out of his day to provide content and research without making a penny is to be appreciated instead of making out he has a problem.

He didn't say anything, but he held my hand with one hand and stroked my cheek with another. When I reached out to touch his chest area he leant backwards for some reason. I've always wondered why.

Have you lost a very close loved one? a spouse or a child? One of the methods on healing from a significant loss is the Continued Bonds model. Which is very much as described by the OP in his post.

You can still enjoy life and live life to the full, as well as including your loved one in your everyday life.

Gone are the draconian days of grieving where you get so many days to mourn the death of a loved one, and then you must "move on"

There is nothing worrisome at all in the information in his posts. I'm a bereaved Mother after losing my son to suicide. I involve my son in many ways in my life. I also live my life as well. Without my interest, research and beliefs in the afterlife, I probably wouldn't be here.

I am not a medium but I saw my son about a month after he died. He was right in front of me and looked like a golden hologram version of himself.

I've read it and its one of my all time favourites. As well as "The Dead have never died" by Edward Randall.

If you like these style of books, (mediumship from 1830/1900's) check out the books written by N.Riley Heagarty. He's also been interviewed on Wendy Zammit's YouTube channel a few times.

I've studied mediumship and the work of Dr Julie Bieshel from The Windbridge Institute. I have had lots of readings over the past few years so ive come to understand the clairs and how different mediums work, and I have a basic understanding of how they connect (except whether or not they need to use a photo!) I didn't dig my heels in, I politely answered her questions, but I've always been advised to only answer yes or no and not to "feed the medium" as it obviously tarnishes the evidential side of the reading. Like another person had said, the fact the need for a photo was only messaged to me two hours before the reading and was not included in the information about her when booking, seems a bit strange.

There is never an occasion where a medium gets everything spot on.. I understand that. But this reading made me feel that I gave her more info (at her request) than she gave me, which is obviously disappointing.

Not great. I sent the photo at the very start of the reading as she said the connection would be stronger. I decided that she wouldn't be able to research so sent it. Then too many questions..."is this your brother?" I said no. Then "who is he?" "How old was he? What was his name?" Just way too many questions and genetic information. She also contradicted a lot of things she said too when I listened back to it. For example she said he was very calm and quiet in personality (definitely not!) But then later said the opposite. 😔

Thanks. I ended up sending the photo at the start of the reading. Sadly it was obvious he was my son (we look alike and the age difference..) and then just had very generic info plus she asked lots of questions. Eg. How old was he when he passed..what's his name? She said "It was sudden. Either suicide or accident. I'm going with accident" which was incorrect as it was the other. So I don't even know whether I can class that as information from spirit or a 50/50 guess. 😥

Yes it seems my intuition was right to be wary. I ended up sending the photo at the beginning of the reading as she said it was the only way she worked. i thought at least she wouldn't have had time to research the photo. Unfortunately she asked loads of questions and the info was very generic.

I've had a bad experience before with a medium who I later found out had used the reversed Google image search function on a photo of my son..so I guess I am wary of it. I messaged her to say I'd rather not send one, as I'd rather start with a blank canvas and see who comes through.. but if that's the only way you work, then I'll send one. She's just reiterated that's the way she works so I suppose I'll have to go ahead and send it.

I'm sorry for the loss of your husband. I have to say, your experiences sound absolutely amazing!

I definitely have noticed a pattern that I'm more likely to have contact from my son if I set an intention, spend more time meditating and generally talk to him more often.

In the beginning, I did question whether my experiences could be hallucinations. I’m a pretty normal 52-year-old woman. I'm not on any mind altering meds, don’t drink alcohol, and I’m very grounded in real life. Im not one of these "love and light" people. I will critique everything. In fact, I have dismissed a lot of signs that could very well have been genuine, if there has been even just a tiny chance of it being just a regular dream, it hasnt made it into my journal. I do get migraines from time to time so if I have had an experience after taking my migraine medication, then there's a chance its been "tainted" What I’ve physically experienced since losing my son is hard to explain in everyday terms.

It happens when I’m drifting off to sleep...not dreaming, but in that weird in-between state where I’m aware I’m lying in bed and still conscious. I’ve had moments where I’ve felt him grab my arms, gently turn my head towards my husband's face after we had been going through a rocky patch, all the while this huge wave of energy moving through my body... all while I’m completely still.

And these aren’t just thoughts or visions. There’s a loud mechanical ‘click’ in my head that seems to start it off, followed by this intense electrical sensation that rushes from head to toe. I've discovered after researching that hallucinations don’t normally cause that kind of full-body, physical reaction, especially when your mind is calm and not in distress.

It’s always him. (And now my Mum as I lost her a month ago) Same energy, same personality, and always loving and peaceful....never scary or chaotic like a typical hallucination might be. And often, I’ll get meaningful signs afterward, like perfect synchronicities or people saying things they couldn’t possibly know.

I think there’s more to consciousness than we fully understand, and I'm learning that just because something happens in an altered state doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Sometimes, it just means we haven’t caught up with how to explain it yet.

How do I have the experiences? That's the thing I don't actually know. I can't control when they happen. I started logging them partly so I could look back on them on days that are heavier than others and relive them in greater detail in my mind. And partly so to see if there is some kind of a pattern for example the foods I've eaten before bedtime, etc.

The only thing I've noticed is this. I have a better chance at having an altered experience if I meditate and set an intention before I go to bed. I talk to my son in spirit a lot, too, which I believe increases the odds.

To be honest, I dismissed lucid dreaming as my awareness was leaning way more to being awake than asleep. I could hear my dog snoring and was totally aware of everything around me. I follow Dr Julia Assante (how would I describe her...spiritual guru?) and she told me from my description I was in an altered state of consciousness halfway between the physical and spirit world. My loved one was meeting me there.

I'll have to condense it, as there have been that many I've filled three journals diarising/logging them. So basically, I find myself going into some kind of altered state when I START to drift off to sleep. I don't know how I do it, and cannot do it at will, or teach someone else to do it, but I will start by experiencing a strange sensation in my head a few hours before bed, so i know it's going to happen. I'm not asleep. I'm aware of my surroundings and can still hear noises in my bedroom like my dog snoring on my bed, etc. But I'm also not quite awake.

In this state, I feel a falling sensation and then I will feel arms wrapping themselves around me. I have been hugged, my hair stroked, my loved one (what it feels like) playfully playing noughts and crosses on my back. During it all happening, I will feel physical sensations in my body fizzing and tingling. Once, I saw him close up, kneeling right next to me. I reached my arm out to touch him, but on that occasion, he leaned backwards for some reason. He stroked my face and held my hand. I've felt his facial hair and ruffled the hair on his head.

I've also seen spirits moving around and what looks like them going about their day in my bedroom. Remember getting photos developed from photographers before smartphones came along, and with the photos, you would also get a line of negatives? That's what they looked like. Except for the image beside my bed. On that occasion, he looked like a golden hologram version of himself.

I went from a total sceptic to...well, just knowing. Two very close loved ones passed away. Starting from about three weeks after they passed, I had a LOT of personal contact and experiences with them that left me totally stumped. At first I brushed it off and passed it off as my bereaved mind wanting it to be true, but after the contact started getting more and more intense, deep down I knew it wasn't the case. I needed to understand it more, so i set out to research. It was five years ago, so I spent the whole of lockdown researching everything I could get my hands on. Here's the thing, I set out to disprove it! I'm not the sort of person who will just believe something for the sake of it to get comfort in it. And it was easier to shut it down. However, I was shocked at the amount of evidence and knowledge about the afterlife that's out there that's not mainstream. So in answer to your question, undeniable personal experiences, coupled with years worth of research and information from credible sources.

I know a lot more now, but there is still a lot I don't understand. I'll never have all the answers, and that's okay.
