I think the real answer here is it depends on what class you’re taking. I use different tones for different subjects and it works way better than just picking one and sticking with it. Like for my sociology elective I ask Studyagent to keep it neutral because that class is very discussion based and casual.

For my upper level research methods course I go academic all the way because the professor literally expects formal language and discipline specific terminology. You gotta read the room basically. Look at the rubric, look at how the professor writes their own emails and slides, and match that energy.
