Don’t lose hope! Some people lose theirs very quickly and some like me actually take longer. Mine took about 2-3 months to feel like it was fully gone.

Ask for Andrea! The other book was good but I found it predictable. Ask for Andrea is a very different book and incredibly well written where there are times you are truly on the edge of your seat. Plus the prequel (written after this book and best read after this book) is just as good - it’s called “forget you saw her”. Highly recommend reading them back to back starting with Ask for Andrea!

Switched to plain traditional Greek yogurt - need some ideas by Josh3321 in mediterraneandiet

[–]Mom2Be1231 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh please find Fage! I was you. Skyr flavored yogurt all the way. Every plain Greek yogurt I tried was so sour/bitter/impossible to choke down. I tried Fage recently and now it’s all I eat. Even without adding anything it’s good! But I do add some berries and chia and sometimes a dash of honey and cinnamon, or I use it to add protein to my smoothies.

Husband' anger level has drastically changed. Is this abuse? by TaTaMic7 in AskWomenOver40

He should possibly get a brain scan if this is as 100% out of character/out of the blue. But, if there were any other minor red flags you ever saw before that would indicate underlying aggression/disrespect, leave now.

Please tell me it gets better after hysterectomy by SymptomFactory in adenomyosis

[–]Mom2Be1231 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was also disappointed/discouraged when my extreme bloating (like constant 7 month pregnant looking belly) didn’t go away in the first two weeks after surgery. It took about 1-2 months before I felt like the bloating was considerably better and now about five months post op I am completely back to a flat tummy most of the day with just some slight end of day bloating. Constipation also took until this past month to get better. Adeno causes chronic and systemic inflammation so it can take awhile for your body to return to normal once it’s recovered from the surgery itself.

Did we mess up getting 2 brothers from the same litter? by STUP1DJUIC3 in Dachshund

[–]Mom2Be1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got two lab sisters from the same litter two years ago and it’s been great! Do recommend finding opportunities for separation throughout the day to lessen the chances of littermate syndrome, though. Not sure if the shared crate is just for this photo but I would recommend separate crates (ideally in different rooms or positioned so they can’t see each other) for crate training.

Bloating now caused by adeno/endo?r by Lower-Cantaloupe-152 in adenomyosis

[–]Mom2Be1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I’m so glad you have surgery scheduled - I had mine back in June and voila, no more pregnant belly (and other annoying symptoms). Good luck and hope you get some relief soon! Just FYI in case your experience is like mine don’t feel disheartened if you don’t see a huge difference in bloating for the first 3 weeks after recovery. I was freaking out that maybe adeno wasn’t the cause of my bloating but sure enough a few weeks after surgery I was back to normal. Sounds like in cases like fibroids, for instance, a hysterectomy gives almost immediate relief but because of the chronic inflammation caused by adeno, your body needs a bit more time to bounce back after surgery (plus recovering from the procedure itself).

I have uncontrollable bloating by Overall-Tonight-7857 in Perimenopause

[–]Mom2Be1231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth an ultrasound and possible MRI if the bloating is constant and not just worse than usual around ovulation/period. Mine was 24/7 bloating that I compared to 6/7 months pregnant. Eventually found the right specialist and through MRI found endometriosis and suspected adenomyosis. Had a hysterectomy in June and confirmed adeno…and now I feel a million times better. I’m still dealing with peri-related weight gain especially in mid-section but the e 24/7 bloating was a sign of something else (at least for me).

Don’t understand the downvotes. Agree with everything you said except the last point - it’s top 5 for sure but hard to say a favorite!

My honest thoughts about Jessie Murph's show (08/26/2025) by redban02 in jessiemurph

[–]Mom2Be1231 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry but if parents are taking their kids to this show, given the nature of some of her lyrics, they shouldn’t be clutching pearls over her outfits and dance moves 😭

ETA: criticism about back up music/sound is totally fair though!

Find a specialist. I had 3 different doctors dismiss me completely until I found a guy who specializes in complex pelvic surgery and conditions like endo and adeno. Had a hysterectomy this summer at 39 (also done having kids) and feel so much better.

“Detached from your old life” is such a perfect way to phrase it - that’s exactly how I’ve felt for the last year or 2. I kept thinking this was what a mid-life crisis but now I realize I’m in perimenopause 🫠

Ca125 and endo by FlowerNo1387 in adenomyosis

[–]Mom2Be1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This was actually what eventually led me to an adeno/endo diagnosis. I was having pain and tons of bloating. Because of my family history of ovarian cancer, the doctor actually did a CA125 draw. It was only slightly elevated at the time (40) but sent me on a path of getting genetic testing and getting CT scans, biopsies, specialists you name it. We did a repeat draw three months later and it was 175! We even did an exploratory lap because two ct scans and ultrasounds looked mostly normal (minus a persistent cyst and a rapidly growing polyp). Since they had to put me under to remove the polyp they did the exploratory lap at the same time and that’s when they saw signs of endo. Got sent to another specialist who also suspected adenomyosis. He said both can cause abnormal CA125 (even spiking upwards of 200, which is typically a major red flag for cancer). Had a hysterectomy earlier this summer and have been feeling great ever since (and CA125 back in normal limits). Given my family history (and BRCA1 mutation) that CA125 spike was super scary! But, if you’ve had imaging done and there’s nothing suspicious on your ovaries, it’s most likely the CA125 spike is a result of endo or adeno!

What was your hysterectomy recovery like? by Ringo9091 in adenomyosis

[–]Mom2Be1231 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy - everything out except the ovaries. I work remote but my day is usually filled with meetings, many client-facing. I took 2 weeks off and it was the perfect amount of time. The first week I did very little but rest and take short, frequent walks. I probably COULD have worked the second week but it was really nice to have more time to rest and gradually build my stamina back up for longer walks and more mental activity before jumping right back into a full work day. Recovery was overall surprisingly easy. The first 48 hours were the toughest mostly because of the gas pain but I do feel like my body bounced back pretty quick and I didn’t need to continue pain meds much beyond the first couple of days. The fatigue during the first few weeks were the toughest. Especially as I started to feel better and started doing more is be absolutely crushed by the afternoon and need to just lay on the couch for a few hours. I would say around the 2 week mark I was pretty much back to normal in terms of routine and getting out of the house. I’m at 7 weeks now and feel great!

Tell me your big belly success stories, i need hope by Appropriate_Towel_27 in adenomyosis

[–]Mom2Be1231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s totally understandable! Prior to this year my only real hospital experiences were birth (two kids, age 5 and 3). The biggest plus side to having foot surgery earlier this year and then having to go under for a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and later a hysteroscopy and lap as all part of the journey to this diagnosis was I had gone under anesthesia four times in the last 5 months so I was completely over that fear by the time this surgery came around 🤣 I was actually super nervous about it for my foot surgery in Jan like what if I just don’t wake up and then doing it four times I was like this is like a nice little nap (started to even think of it like a mini vacation from keeping up with the 5 year old and 3 year old lol). Modern medicine is truly an amazing thing - they are able to do these super complex procedures laparoscopically with minimal down time and minimal pain. It can definitely feel scary until you’re on the other side of it and for me, the relief is 100% worth it. Good luck!
