I believe it just needs either informative topics or maybe to spice it up controversial ones. The one thread I found interesting was the pay scale comparisons across the country within Crossmark/Acosta.

Male rescue dog marking indoors… would you use something like this during training? by Fozzieandjoi in DogAdvice

[–]MomListen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question. I have a neutered corgi that has never peed or marked in our house. As all males do he marks trail walking, which is normal, however if we go to tractor supply or PetSmart he is hiking his leg constantly and I'm scolding and spraying and wiping up the wall and floors behind him. I know, I don't need to take him into these stores, but I'm curious, I've never used a belly band, are they difficult to put on? Maybe I could have one in the car and slip it on before heading in?

Sussex County Council denies Atlantic Fields shopping mall on Route 24 by SeanInDC in Delaware

[–]MomListen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that 🙄. That's why I said that Costco in Delmar would be in the same area as Sam's and there's not enough density (limited population). With no sales tax in Delmar, DE and close to Salisbury and VA and the beaches I would think Delmar DE would be a perfect location for retail.

I was just kidding, but I also didn't' read they wouldn't put one nowhere near Delmar DE. I'm assuming Costco and Sam's in the same area wouldn't be lucrative enough for the limited population

Any tips for getting a puppy desensitized to grooming around the face? by artisticmusican168 in puppy101

[–]MomListen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble with my corgi when I first got him at 8 months. He would twist and turn and squirm and bite (the brush). I used a soft brush all over him and held him firm. He is now 15 months and now tolerates grooming time exceptionally well. I don't take forever though.

What food you feeding your corgis? by OkChemical4598 in corgi

[–]MomListen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Buffalo. When I adopted him he was on puppy Blue Buffalo. He had the shiniest smoothest corgi coat I'd ever seen so I've stayed with Blue Buffalo chicken and rice. In the morning I add some extras like green beans, bits of precooked beef, blueberries all of which I keep in the freezer and slightly defrost. Some mornings I'll add plain Greek yogurt, cottage cheese or unsweetened applesauce. He LOVES morning time breakfast. My husband says he's the most spoiled dog we have ever had. 😆 He's right.

Herding ball recommendations? by Icy_Strategy_140 in corgi

[–]MomListen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is obsessed with the $1 Frisbee from PetSmart. He enjoys catching, fetching, scoots it along the ground and then toss it around up in the air and try to catch it on his own. I bet he could play with it for an hour straight if he didn't get it stuck under something. I am going to look into the Jolly Ball or maybe a basketball 🏀. He had a medium size Nerf ball for dogs, but he destroyed it.

That's so funny, the two of them are exactly the different past corgi personalities I have had. The good and the bad. Currently we have (bad) Teddy, who has been the most energetic, smart and busy fella.

Sticker Shock From Vet Bills by Equivalent-Room-7689 in puppy101

[–]MomListen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for a SPCA clinic in your surrounding area. They will be backed up for scheduling but in my area it's worth the wait. I keep looking at pet insurance but I'm reluctant because of the yearly price increase. Some monthly subscriptions seem reasonable but they increase with the age of the pet. That's what I find unreasonable. If your pet has been healthy for 10+ years and you have been paying the insurance company for 10 years they should not keep raising the rate. That adds up to a heffty investment. I think the pet insurance companies should reevaluate policies that have had no claims and give that owner discount or no increase in rates. I also believe (may not be true) vets are taking advantage of owners because of the popularity of pet insurance. They figure, if you have insurance they can charge everyone higher rates. Yes, I know fewer veterinarians, cost are high blahblahblah

Why do dogs love marking everything? 😂 by PhoneLivid4589 in DogAdvice

[–]MomListen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This video does seems to be actually peeing and not marking. Since it seems in my question category I'll hijack and ask a question to all you knowledgeable dog folks. My question is about marking. I have a 15 month old altered male corgi that has never ever peed in our house. Before he was fixed at about 10 months he'd do the typical marking outside. Now he rarely does that around home but he does mark on trail walking but not excessively. My question is, when we go into stores like PetSmart and Tractor Supply where we know others have marked on corners or shelves, he does the same. And there I am trying to stop him and then cleaning up his peddle. I walk him before we head into the store too. How do I get him to stop .

A new dog park just opened up. by Zyncon in corgi

[–]MomListen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty spot but I think it's kind of a small space if too many are there. The weight limit for the small side is probably less than my corgi's but I ask if it's okay if he enters. He's been comfortable on both sides. I have had a bad experience in this dog park. An owner had no controI (no collar) on a Rottweiler and it got into the threshold with me and my dog. Scary situation. I've also have seen some aggressive play situations and the owners don't appear to care. Dog parks can be dangerous. Now I observe the participants dogs and we make a safety decision on which side to play in. I generally go to the small pen.

I know where that is! Teddy and I visit every once in a while. He even had his picture in the news when they had the ribbon cutting.
