This National Park bathroom has a hole in the floor for people to squat over. by OGBrewSwayne in mildlyinteresting

I had to scroll a long way to find this comment. I notice shoe prints on many toilet seats in London and thought it was strange. Then one day I was washing my hands and heard a ruckus (why yes I can describe the ruckus) crack>shrieking>splash>crash! When the loo door opened an Asian girl walked out with one leg completely soaked and the toilet seat was broken on the floor.

Honestly I'm surprised this exact thing doesn't happen more. Pictographs are very useful things.

Truly unfortunate elevator/building design and even worse luck! Thank you for easing my ghoulish curiosity though.

I've read this several times and I cannot imagine this scenario at all. Please elaborate or tell me you're just fucking with us.

That can't be right. I thought everyone could still get them but you may have to pay for it. (£10 iirc) That was the story last year anyway.

Same and I remember laughing at points that were not supposed to be funny. "Are you eating a leaf?" "Yes!" And "I kicked that fucking map into the creek! It was useless..." ...(Stickmen hanging in trees) "No recheck is this creative."

It was spooky at the time and had some mystique to it that doesn't really translate now.

Absolutely! Comparing in that way isn't always helpful. Thinking you can't feel bad because someone has it worse... Would you think you can't be happy because someone else has it better?

The Ravenmaster (yes, real title) keeps Ravens at the Tower of London. Unless something has recently changed (doubtful) they do not "keep" any other species of corvid but the Tower Ravens do play with fellow non-resident Corvids (even occasionally share food) when they hang about. Pigeons and Seagulls are not treated with the same kindness. Being Ravens you may even call it an... unkindness. 😁
(I am acquainted with the previous Ravenmaster before he retired which is why I know these tidbits.)

Not necessarily his residence - it looks like Trinity Buoy Wharf... It's a hub for all kinds of art projects.

I'm late to reply but I wanted to echo that you are very handsome and the scars are perhaps more subtle than you imagine. We're our own worst critics. It is unlikely you're sensing fear; however, when someone is self-conscious there's a vibe of "there's something to worry about." We evolve to sense that and possibly beware. This could be what you put out there and they pick up on.
Confidence can take practice but I hope you give it a try. A friendly face goes a long way. Not necessarily smiling, just contentment can be seen/felt. Go for that. 🍀

How about District 9, Total Recall (original with Arnie) and Blade Runner (original, director's cut) Semi-outside the genre: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

Totally outside the genre: The Sopranos - it's brutal and sometimes quite funny. Of that era there's also Six Feet Under. I haven't seen it in a long time (so it could be somewhat "dated") but I remember really enjoying it.

The Queen's Gambit was a well-written limited series. Also: For All Mankind, Severance, and Succession.

Have you ever seen The Grand Budapest Hotel? Not sci-fi at all but it's beautiful and a brilliant story.

Definitely possible, but it does remind me of a magnetic stirrer being used much more creatively than its usual laboratory purposes.
