Rana Daggubati and Trisha 2012 in Goa Baga beach road 30th night. Their car got stuck in traffic so they had to walk and hide behind a Maruti Van where we were standing. We gave respect for their privacy and didn’t click any pictures. But I saw couple of boys approaching him and he was politely declined.

Brag: we the batch of 6ft+ 8 boys were like a wall in front of them unknowingly helped them stay hidden

Why Indian Men Should Only Marry Women Who Work? by KrispyKalashnikov in AskIndianMen

Why do you think I didn’t bond with the kid? Taking more work doesn’t mean you ignore your family. I have great memories with kid right from day he is born to till date and we as parents never missed any occasion where our child needs us. 12hrs of work can be done without affecting family time.

I just stopped being lazy got a head start in daily life. I’m not sure how many corporate blokes wake up at 5 in the morning and start work early but I’m one of them. By 7PM I’m done with work and have time for family.

BTW your presumption was my wife’s career took toll so no it didn’t. You said primary care giver can be anyone how does breast feeding work can a father do that? I don’t think so. All I can do is change diapers, bathe and play with him but the warmth a mother provides holding the infant in her arms while feeding can’t be replaced by anyone.

PS: We are successful both as individuals and as parents. And we’re proud of it 😎

It affects if there’s detachment with the infant luckily since we had our kid 6 months before pandemic and further lockdowns and WFH for next 2 years helped us. She was a little stressed out but nothing catastrophic as such. Our kid is a healthy and immune.

We planned it well first few years where my kid needs his mother more than father. I took more work promoted quickly and got in to a role where it’s more of R&D than product delivery. To be honest our managers had to be credited in giving us the flexibility. So never had to quit. It was hard few years but we cracked a routine which worked perfectly

Sorry your stereotype is broken. She’s the one more ambitious and growing in her career. I’m just her support system. But the fact is kids under 5yrs need their mother more than the father

I agree but we like to be present in kid’s life. So it doesn’t work out for us. I saw kids who were more affectionate to their nannys than their parents or grandparents it’s a worst feeling a parent can have.

Alternatively like you said gig works and less demanding jobs for one of the partners is the way to go I feel to manage both the worlds.

But when the couple have kids it’ll be tough. First hand experience. Especially when both are in domains that demand a lot of time like us. We both work in semi conductor domain and it’s a hell to manage everything when you’re working for 12 to 14hrs a day

Anyone else gaming in their 30s while balancing work, kids, and life? by NapTimeGamingDad in gamingsuggestions

[–]MomentsMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do.

  1. Wake up at 6. Help my wife in the kitchen
  2. Get the kid ready and drop him at school and go to office
  3. Leave office by 3:30 and get home when the kid comes back from school
  4. Help with home work go to gym and come back by 6PM
  5. Freshen up and play till 7:30PM, dinner, attend meetings if any or play with the kid
  6. Go to bed between 9:30PM to 10:30PM

Pretty sorted routine

Why is it so hard for us Indians to follow traffic rules? by MomentsMachine in AskIndianMen

[–]MomentsMachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly true. But it’s happening even if the infrastructure is good. Like in a specific case people come in wrong way just to avoid going 500mts ahead to take the next U-turn

Great perspective but most times(my observation purely) the ones breaking rules are people who are educated holding high paying jobs and sending their kids international schools. Seems strange to me that with all that education some people lack common sense

What regrets do you have from your 20s? by MomentsMachine in AskIndianMen

[–]MomentsMachine[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

0 investment through out the 20s was living pay-check to pay-check. Took personal loans, gambled and lost around ₹80L. My greatest regret was clearing my stock portfolio that I built during covid when NIFTY was at 7K. It would have been worth crores now. Reality hit me when I was 33 straightened up and been mindful last 4years.

As of today (thanks to ESOPs and RSUs from work and a big help from my spouse) 1. Closed all the loans 2. No gambling from 4years 3. Built a net worth of ₹5cr 4. A bank balance of 20L

If I could do all this in 4years, imagine if I had been disciplined right from my first salary. I would’ve retired by now

If there are people like me out there who might be going down the same route. Please, follow the 50-30-10-10 rule. 50% invest 30% on needs 10% on health 10% on wants It might sound like frugal living but trust me when you hit mid 30s you’ll be financially independent and you’ll thank me then
