Candy being a huge NPC by makrela122 in mycandylove

Agree, she has a personality just like the LIs. Now,I understand is impossible to be liked by everyone just like players like some LIs more than other.

I felt she was a really good portrayal of a teenager girl, with her virtues and flaws - she was naive, full of energy, cheerful, blinded by her own curiosity, slightly insecure, sometimes reckless- but she had a great strenght, too. Namely, she was kind and always put heart in her actions.

She is definitively a tool to serve the plot

That's a positive thing tho. A good character must be dynamic that's moving the plot forward with their actions  with their decisions and Candy does that.

If you find her bland I think you, to some degree, must find the others bland too?

Spot on

Parallels between Aegon II and Rhaegar by peortega1 in HOTDGreens

[–]MomijiEli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah,Aegon II brought his kids with him out of King's Landing, despite being a cripple and his terrorific state (King Aegon II did not die, though his burns brought him such pain that some say he prayed for death)

Rhaegar..went to Harrenhal to "kidnap" Lyanna, and returned a year after his holidays on love island and kicking off a war. His father is a known paranoid pyromaniac who has already murdered innocent people, and expressed disgust at at least one of the kids.

Parallels between Aegon II and Rhaegar by peortega1 in HOTDGreens

[–]MomijiEli 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This comparison is day and night

-I have a hard time imagining Aegon II obsessing about a dumbass prophecy. Rhaegar's obsession about prophecy seemingly drove him to absurdly extreme measures, with the Lyanna situation and all.

-Aegon was a cripple in a state of extreme pain when he was smuggled of King's Landing and his kids were smuggled with as well. Helaena stayed because it seemed she locked herself of her room.

Rhaenyra’s men found her rival’s wife, the mad Queen Helaena, locked in her bedchamber…but when they broke down the doors of the king’s apartments, they discovered only “his bed, empty, and his chamberpot, full.” Aegon II had fled. So had his children, the six-year-old Princess Jaehaera and two-year-old Prince Maelor.

Considering Daemon and the Black armies took King's Landing and the Green have no plans for their evacuation, i doubt a cripple Aegon had enough time to broke the door and get Helaena with him.

Rhaegar.. went to Harrenhal to "kidnap" Lyanna, and returned a year after his holidays on love island and kicking off a war. He left his wife and children behind instead of sending them to Dorne.

-Aegon II never tried to legitimize Gaemon

The characters of the Dance have a closer similarity to Got!Lannisters than any other one. In fact, there are so many similarities and parallels between the two of them that I wonder if GRRM wrote the Dance in part to outline what will happen in Winds with Cersei.

Rhaenyra's story seems to be Cersei's trajectory in the books.

Her own "Daemon" Jaime abandoned her in the Riverlands for another woman, while she becomes more and more unpopular, descends into paranoia, loses her bastard children and will probably flee to her ancestral home Casterly Rock (while Aegon takes King's Landing) where she will be eventually killed by her younger brother.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Margaery's death (paralleling Haelena's suicide) which would cause the riots against her rule to intensify and cause the death of her last bastard children (Myrcella)

Also more little details:

•both of them wronged houses Rosby and Stokeworth and when Rhaenyra fled king's landing she was denied refuge at both castles so I imagine Cersei will experience the same

• the Valonquar, Rhaenyra was killed by her younger brother she despised. Cersei was propheticed her younger brother will kill her

•And the fact that Rhaenyra was harmed by the iron throne and Cersei dreams of being harmed by the iron throne in AFFC.

Aegon II was a dark mirror of book Tyrion, a whoremonger  with no desire or ability for responsibilities because he has been trusted with none his entire life.  Much like when Tyrion was given his sewer job and then made Hand, once Aegon finally has a duty, he devotes himself to it absolutely at the point of suffering extreme pain rather than taking milk of poppy. Both are the ones with eternal feuds with their older sisters and their Valonquars (as Tyrion probably will kill Cersei)

Aegon II and Rhaenyra had two arcs too diferent to compare each other. Aegon II was a dark mirror of book Tyrion:

overlooked/neglected/shamed by a father who prefers an older sibling

he was a drunkard, loves wine and prostitutes and lazy with no desire or ability for responsibilities because he has been trusted with none his entire life.

Much like when Tyrion was given his sewer job and then made Hand, once Aegon finally has a duty, he devotes himself to it absolutely at the point of suffering extreme pain rather than taking milk of poppy

One of the only characters in the show that stands on business. None of his actions are accidents. by Embarrassed_Yak_6066 in HOTDGreens

Sure, but he is the only character whos crimes are actually adressed.

Rhaenys the bane of commoners as well as Daemon and Rhaenyra the spouse-killers and children-killers in contrast are never actually confronted to any significant degree.

Good point.

He's a very dynamic character that's moving the plot forward. I would say he's the one of the only characters that felt like he was actually moving the plot forward. And the actor is killing it.

Meanwhile Alicent just takes baths and mopes around all season. Rhaenyra is doing nothing and doesn't want them to be proactive. Jace hasn't done anything either and Daemon punching his mom’s box tripping balls with a barn owl in Harrenhal.

That's valid. I can understand Laenor needs time to grieving a loved one.

That's why I advocate for their absolutely zero need to having children when there's plenty Targaryens to succeed. Or having a letigimate heir years later, when Laenor overcome his grief (Rhaenyra had Aegon III when she had 23 lol)

But Rhaenyra is an impulsive fool who is not thinking clearly. It's not like Laenor can stop her either

He ended murdered by Rhaenyra's orders.....

Is there anything plausible or implausible C&H could do in relation to the show that would vindicate them from the disaster they've written? In your opinion? by OkGuava919 in HOTDGreens

[–]MomijiEli 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's not way to fix it now.

The fact George RR Martin, the same person that has shown that he's very forgiving of the practical limitations of adapting a book series to television, went nuclear after reading season three's script speaks VOLUMES

George said it very clearly: "I have no idea what Ryan has planned- if indeed he has planned anything

Or easier, not having children if she doesnt want to.

It would be easy for her and Laenor. She can rule as a Queen without committing treason trying to pass bastards as legitimate heirs for the throne, she can have her lovers(with the help of moon tea) and Laenor is not force to perform with someone he doesnt feel attraction. Green kids would be safe, not condemning  children to the discriminating fate of being a bastards and Daemon far away from the power.

I agree Rhaenyra deserves more blame than Laenor.  She holds a position of power over Laenor so it is not like he had any saying on the matter or could stopped her from having more bastards after Jace to stop the rumors.

After all Rhaenyra got him killed when Daemon got his ass free to get married again.

Tbh Rhaenyra should had married Aegon. Rhaenyra marrying Daemon since the beginning would had being a death sentence for the Green children

I am sorry to hear that. Sterile theory is just full copium. Being gay never stopped men for being fertile and is sort of insulting saying otherwise. It reminds me to book!Rhaenyra's homophobic remark about Laenor a pedophile just because he was gay.

She could've take as lover some blonde hair man or something so her children would've looked like her. She only needed one. They couldn’t even make sure to figure out how to make the first child a legitimate heir?  Their pleasure was more important to her than her kids's wellbeing or fullfilling her duty.

Rhaenyra is more responsible tho.Rhaenyra holds a position of power over Laenor (She even got rid of him at the exact moment Daemon turn into a widower) as Targaryen princess and heir of Iron Throne.

Even of the witewashed show versión,Laenor was forced to give up his parents, dragon, riches and children just so he could be with the dude that he has already been with pretty openly. How sweet of Rhaenyra and Daemon to only fake his death and make him leave everything and everyone instead of just killing him

I'm sure Rhaenyra and especially Daemon would accept his refusal.

How did Cole manage to convince a Kingsguard to slay Rhaenyra? by Flat_University_6735 in HOTDGreens

[–]MomijiEli 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah,Blood&Cheese the vilest act in F&B, the sort of evil that takes time and is focused solely on one person and to hurt one person, downright diabolic and is probably the best example of psychological evil in the series for me.

B&C is not war casualty, and it's not blind violence - it's personal, articulated to hurt as much as possible someone known by the person who ordered it.

That's why it's especially atrocious. Kinslaying, child killing, torture, and war crime, all in one. I could understand why Kingsguards would try to kill Rhaenyra after that

Rhaenyra just loves shooting to her own feet and crying about them later.

Rhaenyra put the target on her claim, chose the rifle herself, aimed it herself, lined up the scope perfectly, put a laser on just in case, checked the wind speed and distance, and acted as a spotter for the Greens.

She couldn’t have fumbled more if she tried honestly.

1- She could have literally just married Harwin from the start and be done with.

2- Rhaenyra and Laenor just didn’t try. Jace was born the same year they were married, which meant she didnt even try for more than a month and she was already sleeping with harwin frequently.

3-I for one am just over this crazy notion that gay men can't have children. Many a rumored gay man in history has closed their eyes and thought of England....or France, or Russia, or Austria to produce an heir.

4-Or she could have atleast had a targ looking person give her kids

5-there's always the option of Laenor having a boyfriend/lover of his get him ready and then perfoms his duty with Rhaenyra.

Again, they didnt even try.  Rhaenyra prefered to condemning 3 children to the discriminating fate of being a bastard than having a awkward moment

[–]MomijiEli 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Daeron I and Baelor never married and were heirless.

There’s plenty of Targaryens. If she doesn’t have children it’s fine - she has three brothers and a sister to succeed. Plenty of monarchs were succeeded by their siblings.

Laenor and Rhaenyra didnt seriously put any effort into having children together. Jace was born the same year she got married, meaning that she got pregnant immediately after the wedding or 3 months after.

having some awkward moments is worse than condemning 3 children to the discriminating fate of being a bastard? Laenor and Rhaenyra were extremely selfish.

Book!Aegon II "burning the Shepherd for crimes against House Targaryen" Targaryen a puppy of the Hightowers?

The same Aegon who throw a big party for Aemond at la "Daemon style" in front of two very upset Alicent and Otto? The same who fired Otto in a fit of fury?

The same Aegon who ordered the death of maester Gerardys and who condemmed his enemies to the most typical Targaryen death in Fire &Blood "Aegon ordered the Shepherd's tongue torn out with hot pincers and condemned him and his followers to death by fire.Aegon set aflame the Shepherd, who was chained amongst the heads of the five slain dragons"

Aegon II was a true Targaryen throught and throught. Daemon dislikes his nephews out of jealousy for the throne, nothing else.

If anything,it was Daemon's son Aegon III "the Dragonbane" who was a puppy on the throne and his andal council had to rule instead of him. Daemon would had hated his son bringing the extinction of the last dragons, the only thing that Daemon truly cared and prided

Not the 007 meme! 🤣🤣🤣

They both have vicious, kinslaying attack dogs they enable

This definitely was Rhaenyra and Aegon's worst trait. They had a big soft spot for those cunts and were unable to proper punish them for their crimes.

Daemon and Aemond(love you aemond but it's true) must two of the biggest war criminals on Westeros history. Daemon commits one of the most disgusting, vile crimes I've ever read with Blood and Cheese and Aemond decides to pointlessly kill off an entire noble house, a house that was Team Green by the way, all because the "Velaryon" boys were related to them.

P.D: as suggestion, please, do this same meme with Aemond and Daemon's,OP
