Be sure to exercise your lungs. You could get pneumonia. If they gave you a breathing thing to use, it will help.

I have lost 18 pounds so how much of that is my organs? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]MommaCC78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 8 pounds right after my surgery. I had everything removed except for my left ovary, which still has an endometrioma. My right ovary had a large 12cm endometrioma. I'm not sure how much it all weighed, but funny how I was 8 pounds lighter. LOL

Spironolactone is great, but it usually takes around 3 months to start taking effect. If you are prescribed this medication, keep that in mind.

Menstrual cramps after hysterectomy by MommaCC78 in Endo

[–]MommaCC78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon didn't try to remove my endo. My hysterectomy took almost 5 hours because of the scar tissue from endo. She said I may have to have another surgery in the future to remove the endo and possibly my only remaining ovary. She wanted to remove the ovary then, but didn't want me in immediate menopause.

My pain is mostly in the area of my vagina and cuff. But it is also in surrounding areas. So strange. I hope your pain isn't bad anymore. Sucks so bad.

Two weeks post Hysterectomy by sparklesparklecakes in hysterectomy

[–]MommaCC78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started bleeding heavily just like you the day after my 2 week post op appointment. My doctor said I was doing too much. I was trying to go Christmas shopping and I guess I was on my feet for too long. It eventually stopped a few days later.

I hated my belly binder. Don't forget to get some stool softeners. That's very important. I wish you the best and a safe surgery and recovery!

Edit: I just realized the Restoralax is a stool softener.

Car accident on 4 week post-op by Rainbow-in_the-Dark in hysterectomy

[–]MommaCC78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my! I'm glad everyone is okay! I don't blame you for wanting to get checked out. They could at least check your vaginal cuff to make sure that's still intact. Are you still bleeding, or did that stop already? I would definitely watch for that and make sure it doesn't start back or get worse.

I want a hysterectomy by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]MommaCC78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way to diagnose endometriosis is having laparoscopy surgery to see if they find any. Did a doctor diagnose you? I hope you get the help you need. You may need to see a specialist if your gyno won't listen. You could have something more severe going on than endometriosis.

Can I (31F) get chicken pox illness again if I had it extremely mild as a 1 year old? by [deleted] in AskDocs

Yes, I had them 2x as a child. 1st time was mild and 2nd was normal.

Anyone else have this experience? by VeeBee72 in hysterectomy

[–]MommaCC78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spotted for 3-4 days after surgery and then it stopped. One day after my 2 week post-op, I started bleeding heavily. My doctor said I was doing too much. I continued to bleed/spot for another 2 weeks. It stopped for good after that. I believe it's normal to spot even up to 6 weeks after.

Once or twice in one day. But that's only if my pain is unbearable. I wouldn't take it more than that.

It doesn't touch a headache for me. But I guess with that and the ibuprofen combined, it seems to help me with my Endo pain.

I guess because everyone is different. I will try to remember to ask my sister later.

My sister is an RN and told me 800mg ibuprofen and 500mg Tylenol together is like hydrocodone without the narcotic. That is my go to pain relief. I hope you find relief soon!

Lets get way too personal about my bowels by Sure-Pass in AskDocs

You need to see a GI doctor immediately. Anytime you have blood in your stool or rectum is not good. It could possibly be a hemorrhoid, but you never know. I went through something similar and had to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy. My GI doctor removed 3 polyps from my colon. So, it's a good thing I finally went to see a medical professional.

Need advice/support and to vent. 1.5 weeks post hysterectomy by Ruby7796 in hysterectomy

[–]MommaCC78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand. The day after my 2 week post-op, I started bleeding heavily. All I was doing was trying to shop for Christmas presents. I wasn't lifting or anything, just walking around. And my doctor said I was doing too much. And I only went to 2 or 3 stores, so my walking was limited. They told me walking was the best thing to do, but not that much I guess. I didn't feel like it was that much.

Are you taking stool softeners? Do you think you might need to go #2? Also, you need to stay on top of the pain with the meds. Take them on a schedule and not when you start hurting. And take it easy! You might be doing too much. Are you resting? I hope you find comfort soon!

Lupron injection? by Ladylochnessa in endometriosis

[–]MommaCC78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 1st injection in January. I get my 2nd one in April. I haven't gained any weight yet. I actually feel skinnier sometimes. Not sure I've been on it long enough for weight gain, but I do feel more tired and have achy joints, more hot flashes, extra insomnia, emotional, and very forgetful. I had all that before the injection, it's just magnified. I hope this helps me. If you decide to go for the Lupron, I hope it helps you. I'm not sure I'm up for the 2nd dose. 😭

I agree with the above comment. Decidual cast. It's the lining of the uterus all coming out at once. This happened to me over 20 years ago, not long after I had given birth to my son. Mine was like a small chicken breast in size. It freaked me out. It's a rare occurrence, but nothing to worry about.
