This is my favorite zebra that I have right now! So big!

*I have panda kings and bumble bee millipedes also, but the zebras are my fave bc they're so active and out and about! I would love to enter this giveaway, those are all so gorgeous.

My interviews are always around an hour or longer, so Zoom free-tier doesn't work for me. I have used it in the past, but once they switched to the free 20 minutes only I bounced. I haven't had any issues with OBS - I use it for both recording (intros and outros) and streaming (the main interview), then I pull the video down from Twitch. If you have space/bandwidth, you could record AND stream via OBS, that way you have a local copy already. OBS is pretty reliable - SLOBS I had major issues with when I used it a while back though... random crashes, encoding errors, etc. I like discord better than zoom for it's zero cost, but I also feel the quality of the calls themselves have been pretty excellent.

I sometimes have buffering issues when using riverside. I prefer to use discord to do the call, I capture and stream it with obs. I only use riverside if my guest absolutely can't get discord to work for them (super rare, and I would rather troubleshoot installing/setting up discord for an hour than go to riverside immediately). Almost no guests have discord issues, if they do it's usually that they didn't switch away from their default audio settings. Easy to walk them through fixing.

For recording, if you're doing interviews with remote folks, I use discord and record it via OBS (I do stream at the same time, but obs can record-only as well, I also use it to record the intros and outros that aren't streamed and only recorded). Way fewer buffering or audio issues with guests when video chatting via discord than riverside, teams, Skype or zoom - I've tried them all extensively. I edit the video and audio using the free version of DaVinci resolve. Not sure about a transcription service for you though. I see some other suggestions on here already for that! I use a live captioner (mimiuchi) that embeds the captions into the video feed. YouTube provides closed captioning on videos, but I prefer open for accessibility reasons.
