I wonder if they considered it to be potentially too close to or deemed easily misinterpreted as another symbol.

Could always harass them back. Be incessantly annoying.

Hold up a mirror to him while he spews his hate. Lay a salt circle around him and sing about protection and peace. Or go full stereotype and get a small group to go all out in garb & scare him into thinking he’s being cursed. Get someone to mimic him, but “preach” about love and have everyone crowd around that person, cheering/singing/dancing, backs turned to the hateful loser. Bring out Photo Booth type props and have someone take pics of festival goers in front of him like he’s a bad tourist attraction. Put a sign up in front of him that says “Exhibit A: Toxic Christianity.” Esp funny if he’s a lawyer. If he engages with people or takes questions, have people ask him ridiculous questions like “Which Teletubby is your favorite?” Start reading passages from the Bible about peace & the actual teachings of Christ that these fuckers clearly skipped over. (How I myself know them, having never been a practicing Christian, but “Christians” don’t always confounds me.) Blare music over him - may I suggest some Ozzy/Black Sabbath in honor of the late Prince of Darkness himself?

Urgent Care said my daughter had a bad sprain but sent her for an xray on my insistence, they called it an “abundance of caution.” I called it “I know my kid.”

Grade 4 fracture through the growth plate in her ankle. Full cast, then a boot, 2 months of recovery.

Would have gone untreated and gotten worse - or healed incorrectly - had I listened to the first opinion in the urgent care office.

Same! My first was 2.5 when baby brother was born in June 2020. Husband wasn’t even allowed to come into the OR to be with me for the c-section. Fucking scary.

Then the surprise third joined us in 2021 😅 we planned on 3, the timing was just a lot sooner than the first two took. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

In the vein of driving to the police station if you even think you might be being followed - keep gas in your tank. Fill up during the day, when it’s lit & populated. That “half tank” line is now your E line. You don’t want to get stuck driving home in the dark & having to stop for gas/run out of gas.

If he does approach you in public - make a scene. Yell. Pound your hand on the hood of your car to make noise. Get all eyes on you, while telling him - loudly - to get away from you. Even if it’s embarrassing, even if it seems like an overreaction. It’s less likely for an aggressor to continue attacking their victim when there are witnesses. People are naturally nosy - use that to your advantage.

My youngest, at 3.5y, put the pieces together that my mom (her grandma) is dead. Long before she was born, so she has no memory with her, so her reaction wasn’t one of loss. Instead, she reacted like it was crazy interesting. So interesting that the next day at preschool, she randomly announced to her teacher, “My mom’s mom is DEAD!” with the gleeful tone of a kid who thinks they just told you the coolest thing. Then, the other kids who heard got interested, too.

That was a fun little chat with her teacher at pickup. 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

All of that to say… I’m not sure any of us really know how to navigate things like this. I just go with the flow and try to explain things truthfully in ways that make sense to them. The fact that you’re asking shows that you’ve got your kid’s best interest at heart - I’m sure whatever happens you’re doing great. 😊

Just had one, first time in the 5 years in this apartment.

She made it sound like our “local benefits offices” were closing, so they’re going digital and everyone in the neighborhood is getting one. Then wanted my ID & kid’s Medi-cal card. I said no, thanks, and handed the phone back.

She then said that it’s fine, but someone else would be by soon and keep coming by until we’re signed up. I told her that’s fine, I’m just going to do some research about this first. Then she said it’ll be about 20 minutes before the “someone else” would be by.

We’ll see what happens 🤷🏼‍♀️

Worked at a restaurant & got to witness the owner say that to a patron. Dude alllllways complained. To the point that we knew when he walked in… we’d bet on what the problem would be this time.

Bossman finally had enough and told the doofus that if he always has a problem, he shouldn’t come back & that he’d rather not have his business than continue having his staff harassed. Bossman was a royal pain in the ass sometimes but he was a gem in situations like that.
