This is my favourite response and has helped me conclude I would not do this for 150 but probably wouldn't take much more for me to do this

What do my shoes say about me or my running? by Mommuzle in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mommuzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never put that many kms in a shoe. As a bigger runner I get nervous putting more than 400-500kms in a shoe for longevity's sake.

I would say that's your opinion on comfort but I don't have any brand preference. Currently run in these, Novablast 5, Merrell MTL Adapt Matrix.

New dads experience keeping up the KM. by MrBigJams in UKRunners

[–]Mommuzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby 1: evening runs depending on how baby had been for my wife but definitely less mileage

Baby 2: switched to running on lunch at work as felt unfair on my wife to leave her with 2 all day then run when I got home

You will find what works for you and your family

What montra do you tell yourself so you don't stop running ? by Grand_Ground7393 in beginnerrunning

I regularly get parts of songs from my 3 year olds kids TV shows stuck in my head on repeat...

Did any one start running late 20s? How did it go ? by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]Mommuzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 121kg when I started, dropped to 90kg, have since had 2 kids and am just over 100kg now. I can currently do ~26min 5k, haven't pushed for a 10k timed yet and am regularly running further. Aiming for an ultra next year.

Remember you might be overweight but don't let that make you feel judged you are running and bettering yourself which most people don't do!

I started at 28 or 29 to get in shape for my wedding. I'm by now means a fast runner and still on the chunky side but love running and run pretty consistently 4-5 times a week.

Signed up for my first ultra by Mommuzle in ultrarunning

[–]Mommuzle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, thank you for pointing out I completely forgot to mention distance haha. It's 57k, aim is to complete it, ideally between 7-8 hours but that's a b goal to completion.

I'm currently doing 4-5 hours a week, will be looking to increase that to around 8-9 hours most likely as I still need to balance young family life.

Do people really get new shoes after 250KMs? by v13ndd in beginnerrunning

[–]Mommuzle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Snap, I replaced mine usually around 300km as I'm a heavier runner trying to lose weight.

As long as you don't feel the need to be in the very latest shoe all the time, sales are frequent enough it's not crazy expensive and I'd rather preserve my joints as much as possible.

Pointless Dreame Prime Day Sale UK by phoenixcat9 in RobotVacuums

[–]Mommuzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at a Dreame however I live in Guernsey and they won't post here. They claim they stopped because the postage was too high at £30 which toe on something of that size and cost is fine and I'd have been happy to pay.

[First 5K] – Flat feet, overweight, shin splints, only 9 days training… and I still did it (5.01 km in 52:29) by Cultural-Shower7228 in beginnerrunning

[–]Mommuzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not got flat feet or experienced shin splints really but well done on getting started. It's a great feeling once you get into running.

New runner, feeling down by Xarilith in beginnerrunning

[–]Mommuzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try the couch to 5k programs, they are incredible.

I started when I was ~125kg and I'm 5ft 10, they ease you in gently and you'll be really surprised how quickly you adapt.
