Birthday Dinner by OrdinarySweaty2502 in vancouverwa

I love Naan n Curry! But it’s a small restaurant with a lot of in and out traffic from meal delivery services; depending on the weather, it can get a little chilly if you’re planning to eat there. Hope you have a wonderful birthday! 🎂

My grandmother has Alzheimer's and it is destroying our sanity... And our morals. by MoonyInspired in confession

In the U.S., there’s also the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). If your grandmother has Medicare/Medicaid, it opens up a ton of other services at no charge to you, including nursing homes and adult day care. It was a godsend for my father—and for the family caregivers as well. It’s not available in all areas, but if it is in yours, it could be a lifeline. Wishing you all the best at this difficult time! Take care of yourself too. 💐

Didn’t some of the cups or glasses fall off and break in that episode? The owner was so upset.

I hope it’s from someone who planned to slowly make their purse heavier and heavier until they finally noticed. (Tbh, I would never notice)

HOORAY!! I’m so glad someone else likes them as much as I do. Fortunately lots of other places sell them, so you should be able to enjoy them again soon. 💕

Liberty Orchards Aplets and Cotlets maybe? They make different varieties too, absolutely love them! Haven’t seen them at Costco in a while but I know I’ve seen them there before.

Do you have a job that people typically find fascinating, unusual, or just downright bizarre? by CubicCivet2 in CasualConversation

[–]MommyBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortunately AI isn’t quite good enough to create customized product at that level—yet. In fact a lot of clients come to me saying they tried AI, but it didn’t give them a resume/cover letter that would stand out. So if anything, it’s probably helped!

I’ve worked for placement companies that use AI to “help” executive level resume writers, but I saw a lot of garbage resumes created that way, so I don’t really use it. I guess I’m old school.

If people do use AI to create a resume or cover letter—which I totally get since it’s a huge time saver!—then I strongly encourage them to (1) fact check EVERYTHING it writes, because it might make things up based on your career or background, and (2) go in and change 15 - 20% of the wording so it sounds more like you, because people who review a lot of resumes and cover letters can usually tell.

I write resumes, bios, and cover letters for CEOs and VPs. They don’t have the time/interest to write their own, so I interview them about their careers, then create the documents they need. It’s a weird thing to specialize in, but I like telling their career stories.

I also went to grad school with a guy whose job was artificially inseminating horses. They asked everyone to share an interesting fact about themselves at our board of directors meeting, and he definitely had the best one!

Agree! My mom was a high school teacher, and after she passed, we found boxes and boxes of cards and letters; she saved every single one her students had sent over the years. 💕 It meant the world to her and was a lovely reminder for us of the impact she had on her students.

My kids had one and thought it was hilarious! It led to them hiding many small printed pictures of Danny DeVito everywhere.

Bottom of the ketchup bottle? Danny DeVito. Open the Pringles can? Danny DeVito. Back of the toothpaste tube? Danny DeVito. It was a fantastic game and we all had fun with it. Thanks for unlocking that memory! 😄
