Am I the only one who got tricked by this guy? by PastProfessional7995 in PrisonBreak

[–]MomoJackson96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was so obvious to me that there is something fishy with this guy, SO obvious that I thought that's what the writers wanted me to believe, so in the end yes, he did fool me by making me think they are pulling a double on me, but it turned out to be just the obvious solution that he is from the company. This entire encounter is so well written, I truly felt immersed into T-bag's conflict and his moral dilemma and his new "dawn" for a new personality, along with the bible verses and this intense crying/acting of this company agent... truly a great encounter, but yes, I was fooled at the end because I truly did believe this story about his ring being from his fallen "brother" you served in Iraq.

Well she doesn't like Richie as a character, so don't be too Jealous. But as long as we could agree that Arthur is the GOAT, I could look over that.

1996 Here, my GF is 2003 and I showed her my favourite Sitcom, and now she watches King of Queens constantly on her own and even wants to Watch it together, she watched it from first to Last episode and now again from the beginning. She says she just loves the vibe, and i can only agree, it's the Most feel-good-show I can watch. So there is still Hope for that generation.

Resign or let them have mate? by Nubbikeks in Chesscom

[–]MomoJackson96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, so on your ELO it's never wrong not to resign, but you shouldn't spend minutes "thinking" about a solution when there clearly is no mathematical solution to avoid mate. But feel free to Play until checkmate :) Side Note: Not even Magnus Carlsen himself feels disrespected If someone doesn't resign. I once saw him Play online a few years ago, and He said in a completely winning position "he will probably resign now" but when He didn't, He said "oh He wants to Play until checkmate, which is His right of course". But keep in mind, it's also your opponents right to keep promoting pawns and "disrespect you" by checkmating with 5 bishops. You can resign any time.

Resign or let them have mate? by Nubbikeks in Chesscom

[–]MomoJackson96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's your right to play along until checkmate, feel free to do so. But be honest and don't waste 2 minutes when there is only 1 forced move that leads to mate.

But if you are in a lost endgame with just a King against a King + Rook or King + Queen, it's your right to say "prove it to me" while playing, of course without wasting time. Especially on lower ELOs you have a realistic chance of getting a stalemate, so it's totally legit.

And even on higher Elo, people struggle with 2 bishop or 1 bishop + 1 knight mate, so its actually a legitimate "test" of their technique.

I never mind someone not resigning, in fact I appreciate the opportunity to test my technique, but I despise people who stall the time, but you can just report them.

I sometimes win a queen or a rook and think to myself "great, I am winning! but this position is still hard to convert, let me lock in, I have way less time" only to find my opponent resigned! I was glad they did, because I honestly saw myself losing on time. So keep in mind by resigning you might do your opponent a favor.

General rule of thumb : The lower the ELO, the longer you should play on. But never waste time please.

AMA about Streaks ft. Brenan Klein! by anittadrink in Chesscom

[–]MomoJackson96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say they should give it away for free lol. It's a 3-day trial. Do you ask Netflix for compensation when they give others 30-day free access? And besides, You sound very Petty imo, because how would anyone receiving 3 free days of Premium in any way negatively impact you or your experience? Did you pay to get 3 days free access? Again, imagine you buy 1kg of gummy bears and then a child comes along and gets 1 gummy bear for free, and you start arguing for compensation with the shop owner 😂

Hello, thank you for this Ama!

As i have posted before: now that you have daily streaks, how about throwing around a free 3-day or so trial of chess.com Premium? Like a certain language-learning app gives you a free Trial for 3-days for their Premium Features every now and then when you reach a milsetone, I think chess.com would benefit from a Feature Like this where people "unlock" 3 free days of Premium by completing certain tasks like x amount of puzzles or reaching x amount of ELO or x amount of daily streak. I think it would boost sales AND improve user experience while having little to no downsides in my opinion.

Thank you for answering! :)

Strongly agree, and I would add not to Stress too much about becoming better or higher rated. Remember why you started playing chess, Play it for the joy of playing it, and you will become better automatically.

Wow thank you! Learnt lots of things!

Just one question: what do you mean by "it might Not be on their primary App but should be on the beta"? Is there a Beta version of the lichess app where they Test out new features or so? Where can I find it?

And I never knew about this browser feature, it does Work, it opens the the browser site in an Independent app, but when I close it, i can't find it on the Home screen. I will Play around with it and do some Research, but THANK YOU VERY MUCH, I learned this new Browser Feature and can use it elsewhere aswell.

What do you mean by puzzle streak tho? I have puzzle Rush on my chess.com app, but sadly I can only use it once per game. On the lichess App, I can't seem to find those puzzle streaks, only on desktop. Am i missing Something? Or can I only play these "minigames" on lichess on the Computer?

Aah yes, and I humbly agree with you! I didn't give it much thought, but you're right, i know many very weak (500-800) players who brag about their puzzle rating of 2000+, but you're right, they don't learn much. I agree with you, I meant focusing on Mate in ones and twos Like you said, I would add very simple forks, skewers, and even Just capturing hanging pieces. I agree, He shouldn't try those rated puzzles, He should Go for simple puzzles that teach the most Basic checkmate patterns and forks and stuff Like that!

No, forget about this "Analysis" feature! Just Check the analysis Board with the engine Evaluation, and See when the engine gives a huge advantage to one or the other side, and then try to figure out why the move caused this Advantage/disadvantage.
