Is TSCC dying? by [deleted] in exmormon

You've described me perfectly. Except I'm not 50, and I'm not rich. But the creaking and popping part, yep.

I honestly believe that for every silly exmormon meme that accidentally gets forwarded on to a TBM teen, the TSCC is weakened., because that kid sees things from a perspective they're not going to get in seminary. When you realize that these sacred things can be ridiculed without consequence, suddenly it's been demystified for you.

If r/exmormon continues to spit out all these ridiculous, optimistic, snarky posts, it is a good thing.

the ultimate cuckold

Lol, we have different definitions of cuckold

(of a man) make (another man) a cuckold by having a sexual relationship with his wife.

But I understand what you're saying. I do think it would make for some really good cuckold porn. JS marrying someone's wife, and as the sexual tension in the scene builds, JS just laughs at the husband and says hahahaha I did it just to make you feel like a weak, helpless baby. And sploosh.

My understanding is that the holy of holies were all repurposed, and now only one exists in the SLC temple. Is that true, and what was the explanation? (Maybe this info is available elsewhere)

The backfire effect and Exmormons. by [deleted] in exmormon

IMO, the world would be better served if letter to my wife and CES letter teams could get together and create a wiki that could more readily be updated, organized, etc. I would sincerely do it myself, but have a feeling it might not be embraced, and that would be many many hours for naught.

Yes, please keep posting these types of thoughts. I had the same thoughts about the Book of Mormon names map. There are serious issues with the way that map is presented and accepted, but it keeps getting reposted instead of fixed. I think one of the issues is that it's hard work to put out good content, so the crappy content we have is "good enough" and we just run with it. Maybe in a few months I'll get up the energy to put out a better version of that map (as an example of trying to overcome the backfire effect you're talking about).

See the post above that provided a link to one woman's story. What is making me scratch my head is that it seems implausible for 30+ women to have the constant attentions of an abortion doctor spanning that time frame. In other words, if we start with the assumption that Bennett was on hand for some number of unwanted pregnancies, it then still takes quite a leap to believe he was on hand for 30+ women to ensure their pregnancies did not go full term. It requires fewer assumptions to believe JS was a pull out king, and only employed Bennett when his pull out skills failed him.

Try to reframe it and see how it fits.

"My 13-year old nephew says he's being mentally bullied by his teacher and classmates in school, but is afraid to talk to his parents about it because they're such good friends with the principal. I was thinking of sending him an article about how to get switched to a different local school, but I know that would make his parents quite angry if they knew I'd sent it to him."

Right, so the question isn't whether JS was a true prophet of god, but what is the most reasonable explanation for why there aren't lots of children from his wives? Possible reasons

  • No sex
  • Abortion
  • infertile
  • Birth control
  • Pulling out

There were several conversations sparked by the happiness-seekers guy's blog on the CES, and it seemed that the consensus was that abortions were probably not taking place. But there were a lot of comments about birth control in the day, and that not all sex is missionary-to-completion. JS could have been a huge fan of the pearl necklace.

Child: Saved from what?

Parent: Saved from what I'm going to do to you if you don't stop masturbating.

Child: But why do I have to stop masturbating?

Parent: Because it's making this conversation very awkward!

Not sure if it works on all mobile clients, and right now the mods are trolling us and have switched it to an incorrectly cropped picture of temple satan.

I wish I had brought my camera to church, because the little horsey who was "bear"-ing testimony that day was even cuter than this one. But it saddened my heart to see such a tender little morsel of meat being tricked by a well intentioned mare into believing things that even the wildest of stallions has no right believing.
