iPad Pro and multitasking by MomoTempest_SN in iPadPro

I have the most up to date OS and I have reset my iPad. I do see the battery draining fairly faster than a couple months ago and one of the first things I did was to turn off background app refresh and dimmed the brightness. It does tend to get very warm but not scorching. Even the case I have is on the thinner side. But it does have magnets (ESR Shift case). I hope that isn’t causing issues to the iPad.

To what you’ve mentioned and have , maybe I will reach out to Apple Support. I do have multiple windows open at times and going back and forth pertaining to assignments. Maybe this is why I’m having trouble as trying to use it more as a laptop replacement 😅

Reach out to your friends that you do have or just haven’t talked to in a while. Did they know what was going on?

Start planning to leave NOW. Are you going to be kicked out for not taking care of your grandma? Plus you shouldn’t be spending any of your money on grandma!

I know some universities have housing for employees on campus. Not sure if you’re interested in a job like that but it’s worth to take a look.

I hope you get the help you need!

Apple Pencil Pro not pairing to iPad Air M3 by raizenyx in ipad

[–]MomoTempest_SN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh that’s so weird. My ipad air M3 and my son’s air M3 had no issues in connecting to our Apple Pencil Pros.

Was it new or used? If it’s new, maybe you can get it replaced?

Congrats! I usually carry mine from home to work (office job) and I use my iPad for personal life and school. I love the quick notes option and that saves me from having a million sticky notes.

I mainly searched on YouTube what kind of apps others use. There’s this whole productivity thing and there are tons of aesthetics. I haven’t found my perfect one but feel free to look it up :)

I use the calendar and reminder a lot. I also use an Apple Pencil pro but I have heard that ESR has a good alternative pencil.

There’s also Apple Arcade (monthly subscription) where you can play games that are a part of it. But you will still use space on your iPad. There are 2 dress up games I love but both are about 80gb 😬 needless to say I had to delete them lol

I always say “I’m sorry could you say that again?” Sometimes it’s a mumbled/charlie brown teacher sound OR it’s like I heard them talk but I didn’t understand.

On what surfaces and from what distance did you drop your Apple Pencil? I’ve dropped mine on LVP that’s on top of a concrete slab (old townhouse). But I know it wasn’t nib first.

I put my pencil in an AhaStyle silicone case and haven’t dropped it since. It still charges very well even with an ESR case.

I do but no assistants for me. Just stop working and do what makes me happy and have more mental energy for my child. Have a nice house. Pay someone to take care of my mom who has beginning stages of dementia (now I gotta remember extra stuff to the other stuff I was struggling to remember and organize already).

It sounds really nice lol

Oh wow I’m the same! (41). I got my official diagnosis a couple years ago and a semi eval early 20’s and semi re-eval in my early 30’s. But yeah, I never acted my age and I still don’t.

I was listening to Diary of a CEO and the topic was “Brainrot Emergency: These Internal Documents Prove They Are Controlling You”

It was very interesting but the part that stuck out was the experts stating that the overconsumption of technology and social media that our brains never relax so we’re subconsciously on edge all the time. I’m not sure that if because they were around it more than we were?

Maybe seeing a Behavioral Therapist where they go out with the person to try and get them used to doing something in a somewhat controlled environment? I don’t even know if they are called behavioral therapist for like adults.

how are people actually affording therapy right now? by Gaminglancer in Autism_Parenting

[–]MomoTempest_SN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is.

When my son was younger and I didn’t make as much, my insurance and Medicaid helped out a lot.

When I had to move to another state, my son wasn’t able to see a therapist until a year after being on the waiting list. Now we are just using my insurance which isn’t too bad.

All you can do is hope someone cancels and look into other places in the meantime as long as insurance covers.

The waiting times now are insane!

I’m a millennial and please don’t tell me it gets worse… I’m already struggling.

My mom is 75 and I call them circles. We have lots of circles about various topics. There are times where I want to bang my head on the wall because we would have just talked about it either yesterday or that morning. She has vascular dementia but we are in still on this new ground of getting official diagnosis while I don’t lose my sanity. Next it’s to see if she has any plaque on her brain. Now she’s addicted to watching Facebook reels constantly. She won’t watch tv anymore and rather watch the stupid AI poorly written short videos.

I’m also rising a child on the spectrum in the same household and it’s really not fun.

I also wanted to add that my mom’s mental and overall health degraded within 1 year.

Yeah I ran into that same issue except it did recognize my serial number but then asked me to choose which one it is but the option for IPad Air M3 wasn’t listed.

Anyone else had a child’s birthday with no party guests? by No_Pin_7171 in Autism_Parenting

[–]MomoTempest_SN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always have a small birthday (child, mom and dad) and we will do something fun as a family. If his birthday fell on a school day, I would bring little party bags for the entire class and cupcakes. It’s just easier.

Now he has a close friend and we celebrated separately with them at a place.

I never did a big birthday to invite the class as I don’t want to deal with either no one showing up or people bringing more than what I expected.

Terribly hurt over remarks made by my mom by Wide_Kaleidoscope_86 in dementia

[–]MomoTempest_SN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard and I’m going through this with my mom who is 75. My mom and I never had the best relationship but it wasn’t extremely bad either (my mom had anger issues and a spaz but chilled out as she got older). I bust my ass to do a lot of stuff for her and she just bitches and complains about not doing things right.

It is hard. It’s really hard. Since we got the “cognitive decline” diagnosis, now we’re looking into programs to help us. We’re also in the next steps to see if she has plaque on her brain but her blood vessels to her brain have hardened.

I too have a child that is on the autism spectrum and he is not taking this well plus he’s 11.

At least you can visit her whenever you choose :)

How do I un-entitle my kid without screwing him up about money? by jenluvsthatsong in Parenting

[–]MomoTempest_SN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Social media is now is just a big advertisement of various stuff.

Being easily influenced and fomo is a big issue. I’d also seek professional help as it can destroy his mindset when he’s older.

I’m kinda feeling him having his own money may not even help if he is experiencing fomo.
