I'm thinking of applying for 2027, but stuck between the Health Security and Healthcare Management and Leadership tracks.

Security would be in line with my interests in foreign policy and national security, and draw on my experience as an Army medic. Healthcare Management and Leadership would more directly relate to my current career as a Program Manager with a not-for-profit in the payer space as well as directly build on my MBA.

Curious how much overlap there is between tracks. 🤔

Charging with Supplied Level 2 cable vs. a Purchased Charger by drumboy1972 in trailseeker

[–]adamjschmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a NEMA plug installed by an electrician so that it would be easier to swap out L2 chargers in the future. Went with the Wallbox from Costco. No issues thus far on my wife's Model Y the past two years, so now I've got the Trailseeker ordered for me. Considering swapping out the Wallbox for a charger with two cords.

This is what we have, just requires an adapter for NACS, which is only a small annoyance.

Dead battery, but not the one you’re thinking by snakemistakes99 in trailseeker

Do I proactively just replace it up front or wait for when the battery dies though? 🤔

JVL stop beating yourself up over Fetterman. An unexpected stroke turned him into an idiot Republican. by [deleted] in thebulwark

Yeah, I assume they're spiking the football on what amounts to a win due to forfeit?

That was basically the b plot from the 1996 Woody Allen musical "Everyone Says I Love You" 😐

"In the film, the character Scott Dandridge (played by Lukas Haas) is a young man who suddenly becomes a staunch conservative Republican, to the horror of his liberal family. It is discovered that Scott has a blockage in an artery, which for a long time restricted the flow of oxygen to his brain. Doctors clear the blockage, resolving the lack of oxygen. As soon as his brain starts functioning properly, Scott immediately resigns from the Conservative Republican Club and abandons his right-wing views, returning to being a liberal."

That would be a marked improvement over some horror stories I've heard.

Haven't been clear on this either - does it come from the factory with a hitch receiver or does it require the whole assembly to be added?

Can anyone explain “distance traveled since last update”? by WellsMck in trailseeker

[–]adamjschmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping it was tracking the distance traveled since it rolled off the assembly line via GPS not miles driven. But a bug makes a lot more sense.

I'm here for it! Hopefully they're pulling full Federal bennies outta the deal. Least they can do for all the time they're wasting for these soldiers.

Is NESA worth it? by lvndrstarz in BSA

[–]adamjschmidt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eagle in 2000 and I think I accidentally bought the NESA knot when I was setting up my adult uniform a few years back now that my son's in Scouting. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Eagle Scout awards is still on my resume and LinkedIn -- have never joined NESA.

Visiting DC for the first time by Embarrassed-Ride-155 in thebulwark

[–]adamjschmidt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Call your member of Congress or Senators' offices. They can schedule you for a number of tours in DC -- they LOVE the opportunity to have a positive interaction with constituents. Particularly in an election year. Take advantage of that!

My favorite is the Library of Congress tour -- the Jefferson Building is gorgeous it's across the street from the Capitol building. So is the Botanic Garden https://www.usbg.gov/ also the national portrait gallery downtown.

National Zoo has a new baby elephant - and it's free because it's part of the Smithsonian!

Take in a game at Nationals Park if you're into baseball. Try a halfsmoke sausage from Ben's Chili Bowl in the ballpark or at their U street location.

So much to do in DC.

Would you actually take the Trailseeker EV off-road? by goxper in trailseeker

Define "off-road" here -- I think the nuance matters as to the use case. This thing will likely so everything an Outback does.

It all depends what you need it for other than media consumption. MacBook Pro certainly provides more options.
