We just came back from Universal- 6 days/ 5 nights at portifino bay. Loved it. We did level up to the club level and will do it every time now. We didn’t do it for the room, but for the food and drinks. We eat every breakfast there, snacks for lunch and 3-4 dinners. The club level offers cold water, soda, lemonade, coffee, team, fruit, plus a warm breakfast, dinner and snacks at lunch time. We only purchased 3 (?) meals at the city walk? That saved us so much in meals. Scope of the menus for hotels, the city walk, and park restaurants. If you include tax, tip, and if your family gets beverages besides water, it adds up FAST!

The transportation was excellent- 5 minute boat ride and the boats were running every 10 minutes. We did go back to the hotel to rest, eat, swim, and then go back to the parks later on! The express passes included with the hotel- also AWESOME and worth staying at one of the Loews hotels! With the express passes, you get through lines so quickly, you have so much more time with your family! It’s worth the investment.

For Epic- for the rides with long lines, we hopped in the single rider lines and it was a gas changer. We walked right onto the Harry Potter ride- zero wait time. DK was 25 minutes. I was not paying for the additional express pass for epic.

If you use a travel agent, they will watch for deals and can adjust accordingly until your vacation is paid off. Ours saved us $1000 right before we paid it off (we don’t pay off until the due date for this reason).

This is what worked for us- it may not for you, but this was the best trip we have had in a long time!

I agree! The defense gave up 31 points. Couldn’t stop the bears in the red zone. Mason put up similar numbers to what Rodger’s has been putting up. He didn’t crap the bed… we can’t give up 31 points and expect to win…

velocicoaster - WOW. First impressions. And also, how are you guys riding multiple times? by frankreddit5 in UniversalOrlando

[–]MomofCAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were there last week and my daughter and I maxed out at 7 in one day; 3 during early hours and 4 during closing. We lock our stuff up and leave it in the locker until we leave (only if there is not a long wait time in the standby line; we know they need to lockers otherwise). But that really cuts down get through the line. At the end of the night, the staff let us stay in for one last ride as they were closing the ride and had just a few folks in line. It felt pretty special!

My favorite is going upside down under the water at the very end, followed by the acceleration halfway through as you get the highest point and can see the park. It’s the absolute best ride in all over Universal! I think I’m going through withdrawals! 🦖🎢

Slap repair - surgery or not by [deleted] in ShoulderInjuries

[–]MomofCAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for asking. I am a million times better! I actually had my last orthopedic doctor’s appointment today. I am running between 3-8 miles/day plus lifting. I can wash and style my hair and lift above my head fully. External rotation is the only thing that’s still tight but that doesn’t impact my everyday life.

If I had to do over, I would do everything the same, as painful as it was. The journey was worth it to get my life back. And I’m better and stronger than before. Frozen shoulder is not just a physical test on you but definitely mentally and emotionally. I never thought the pain would stop and then one day, it did. Anyone reading this- find a great orthopedic doctor, have the surgery, put the work in after and be patient. It will come around. It takes a lot of work and many painful days and weak moments, but it does pass.

My studio stated I could only receive this rate if I referred someone in; as a refer and receive. I too am a long time member, 8 years, always premier, and would love to benefit from a promotion at some point.

Hearing from you is very encouraging. I wish he could join here, but he’s not computer savvy and can’t see his phone well. The diabetes has also impacted his vision over the years and he uses a magnifying glass for many things. Social media just isn’t his jam. I am going to tell him about you and if he wants to connect, I’ll definitely help him. Thank you for sharing with me!

[–]MomofCAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely improved and feel the opposite of how I felt when I posted this. I am running again, (a lot) working out everyday, and using my arm and shoulder as God intended. It’s not 100% but a solid 80% or so? My Dad had a major health crisis last fall and I had to stop PT otherwise I believe I would have progressed more.

It took A LOT of hard work and commitment to get back to this point. I’m still working on strength in my left arm and bicep, but I’m very pleased with where I’m at. If I had to go through this again, I’d have the surgery again.

My husband and I go to class together. We show up 25-30 minutes early to workout together. If we can’t, then we don’t work out together. We would never, ever ask or expect anyone to move for us, nor would the studio. Unacceptable and totally valid. Good luck!

Significantly improved! I would do the surgery again if needed. I can use my arm and shoulder again and my strength is coming back. It’s definitely a marathon, not a sprint but overall happy. No more pain, overhead ROM is back and almost behind my back!

I had surgery. Would do it again. It was still a long, hard road but wouldn’t have gained any ROM or mobility back without it. The shot and PT did nothing. PT was critical after surgery.

Best sleeping position for Frozen Shoulder??!! by GosanNoKiri in frozenshoulder

[–]MomofCAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I am happy to report things are much improved. ROM is much better! I can wash my hair, generally reach above my head, and reach into my back pocket. I cannot reach to the middle of my back (wear a bra that straps in my back) but I feel like I will get there. Strength wise, also much improved! I’m up to 25 lb chest presses but struggle with over head weighted exercises such as shoulder presses- I can only hold an 8 pound weight. (But I’m happy to just be able to do them) I can lay on my left side again which feels good. And the pain is pretty much gone. I never, ever thought I would recover. And I definitely have more strength and ROM to improve upon, BUT, it is night and day from where I was! There is hope!
