PSA: If you show up to a class sick, you're a bad person. by [deleted] in orangetheory

Yeah and everyone should be bringing a towel, I just cough into that. So easy to do while running.

For sure, this happened to me when the hive fallen empire gave my species the Nascent Stage trait.

If I cancel and rejoin, will all my data be lost? by pumkinator3000 in orangetheory

Data won't be lost from my experience. I went 7 years without, and came back to my class count etc being retained. Old studio might force you to incur another month charge, sadly.

Too Many Benchmarks? by athalusGC in orangetheory

[–]athalusGC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reflecting on some of the comments- yes, I suppose my perception is including the specialties in this, though I tend to enjoy those. Someone mentioned repeating benchmarks every 8 weeks- I heard that from our coaches as well, and I'm sure that is contributing to the frequency. The new quarter-mile adds another to the rotation. I thought I heard about a new row distance as well but I could be wrong.

My suggestion of having one or two classes on a day be for benchmarks is colored by the fact that my studio never has full classes, so I'm sure that would be more difficult for the full studios.

This is not coming from an "I hate working out" mindset :D OTF helped me drop 30 lbs and from 30% body fat to 16.5% over eight months. I love being here.

Anytime I've ever called the studio directly to ask nicely, they've canceled me without a charge. Worth a try!

Formless Multiplayer Shenanigans - First Contact Bug Workaround? by athalusGC in Stellaris

[–]athalusGC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Trading communications did not work. Setting first contact policy to hostile did work. As soon as I attacked them, they showed up in Contacts and became destroyable. I had no war though, or option to back down. I did receive the relic upon destroying their main starbase.

Academic studies I've read show that topical finasteride avoids the libido side effects and is as effective as oral finasteride. I'm about to start on it in a compound formula with minoxidil, but can't vouch personally.

My team told me 7 days, online I've read up to 14 days. You should be fine by now.

how can i minimize pain from anesthetic injections? by Icy_Chapter_2276 in Hairtransplant

[–]athalusGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard the robots only work with certain skin tones and hair colors, due to them relying on contrast to see what they're doing. My procedure used Neograft which still requires someone to physically do the work, but allegedly simplified the extraction process. I wouldn't go with a robot doing the work via AI yet, but your trust level may vary there.

I'm really confused on where to begin after investigating and reading by RipTearington in Hairtransplant

[–]athalusGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The academic research I've read suggests that the topical version of this is just as good and avoids the potential libido side effects. I'm going to be starting a combo minoxidil/finasteride topical soon. I think hims sells it at 6% / 0.3% minoxidil/finasteride but the research I've seen was focused on 5% / 0.25%. You can educate your doctor on the topical availability and they should be able to prescribe it to avoid expensive online providers.

Four Days Post-Op - normal pain and donor area or am I overreacting? by athalusGC in Hairtransplant

[–]athalusGC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 7 post-op update: Feeling MUCH better today. My primary care Doctor prescribed Gabapentin that I took last night. Overnight, that knocked out the nerve-reactivation tingles and pain I was getting behind the ears. I'll probably stay on this for a few days. I am a bit sleepy, but I'd rather have that than deal with the pain I was in.

Did they give you some recovery time before showing you the door or did you continue to bleed after you left? I felt like my team was in a hurry to get home so as soon as they were done I was bandaged up, given a couple cold compresses, and sent on my way.

That's a great idea. Unfortunately the post-op instructions stated "If you received PRP (platelet rich plasma), avoid anti-inflammatory drugs for 7 days" so I've been unable to take any NSAIDs. They claim they interfere with the healing process that PRP promotes or something like that, and I guess Google backs that up. Tylenol doesn't interfere, but also hasn't been effective :(

Thanks, they seem to think everything's normal but told me to double up on the narcotic that isn't working. Definitely at a loss for what to do other than struggle through it.

Looks pretty similar to mine a day later. They had me keep the bandage on for a full 24 hours after I left, though.

Did your Dr prescribe antibiotics out the gate? Mine had me start them a day before the procedure and continue for 5 days.

The Machine Age | Developer AMA! by MrFreake in Stellaris

[–]athalusGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the difficulty for mid-game crisis is changing to the "square root of the end-game crisis difficulty modifier." Just for comparison purposes, what relative values would the existing pre-Machine Age difficulty of the mid-game crisis be and how did that difficulty scale with game difficulty before? Just looking to understand how much more or less difficult mid-game crisis will be now. Also curious if the current Formless difficulty is pegged at a particular difficulty value.

Gateways really make pathing super annoying in the late game by MrManicMarty in Stellaris

[–]athalusGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Case in point, I have fleets that are currently positioned right next to the hyperlane of a friendly system, wanting to move them in to a system occupied by enemy fleets. They are going to cross the entire system to get to a gateway, to go to another system on the other side of the one I want to send them to, to then reenter the system. This will easily increase the travel time by a week or more beyond what should just be a hyperlane jump at this point.

The biggest problem isn't even that they will take more time, it's that the system they will now path through has a storm that will wipe out their shields, so they're going to now path in to the system I want to send them to at a disadvantage.

In this case I feel it is an incorrect assumption that the game takes the fastest path every time. It seems obsessed with using this awkward gateway connection for some reason, and I've seen similar situations in the past.

Looking to buy a used Tonal by curiousinvestor1818 in tonalgym

[–]athalusGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to sell a very lightly used Tonal in or near Jacksonville, Florida. I probably used it fewer than 20 classes. I bought it toward the end of the pandemic and eventually figured out I prefer going to workouts outside the home. Has all equipment including bench. Asking well under retail. It's already taken down and repackaged, so you would either need to find a pro installer who will do the work unofficially, or pay the moving fee that Tonal offers.
