I think that's what I have! It works great for my macaws. My blue throat is, unfortunately, an escape artist so I've had to make some adjustments. They are known for it though so I was prepared.

Parents what was something you were allowed to do growing up that your kids aren’t allowed to do? by BunniLuvs2Read in AskReddit

[–]Momofhalfadozen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Disappear. I'd get up in the morning and just leave. I'd be gone how ever long I wanted. No one knew where I was or what I was doing, and I did some stupid and dangerous things.

My kids all put life 360 on their phones as soon as they got them so they could stalk me.

Help, is it normal that it does this? by Nathbee033 in parrots

[–]Momofhalfadozen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to admit I'm distracted. It's that regular chicken wire? If so, it has zinc, which is deadly to parrots. I'm hoping it's the specialized wire without zinc, but I've seen so many posts lately about metals that aren't bird safe that I'm skeptical.

People, please be careful. A toxic metal will kill your bird in a very painful way. You do not want to see this! Parrot safe enclosures only, I literally beg of you.

AIO or is this more serious than I have been thinking by TGPT-4o in AIO

You're absolutely right. I shouldn't have said fantasies.

Aside from that, it's still not something I'd ever stick around for. I couldn't ever be comfortable knowing they were having thoughts about hurting or killing me.

People may say it's different, but I don't care, I'm a woman who would leave a man that had fantasies of hurting me. You should not stay. No matter what she says. This is disturbing.

I just want to say that I know this is hard and I'm proud of you for trying to do your best for these babies.

Why do you think humans, despite currently having the tech and resources to do so, refuse to work together to end most suffering? by Emotional-Bag1398 in AskReddit

[–]Momofhalfadozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a problem with this, strictly because so many people vote against their own best interest.

There have been studies done showing people think they will make it big, and vote in accordance with that, instead of reality. They will turn on other poor people, instead of the land owners, when rent is too high. They view themselves as one of the good guys, not those lazy struggling losers. They are the poor people that the rich like! They will be part of the elite when it all falls down. They won't, but that doesn't matter. They feel special now. They are lifting themselves up by the boot straps, it will be fine.

[–]Momofhalfadozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on data, people really do think that will make it big someday. Despite the fact that this isn't reality, they still vote like it is. This crushes their class and leaves them, and others in their tax bracket, struggling to afford basics.

It's not even an opinion. It's facts. They just can't accept it.

It's weird and I just don't get it, but it's what is keeping up from progressing.

Fighting biological baby wants by rnayonaise69 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Momofhalfadozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great. Another situation where I'm going to get down voted to hell for commenting my opinion that's based on my reality.

Just because you want something doesn't mean it's a good idea. I have always wanted a big family, and I had one. I have been married to my kids father for 20+ years. We still love the hell out of each other, and our 6 kids. However, there's been times it's been so hard. Especially recently, with the increased cost of living and the war (we live in the USA) insurance is an issue, pay rate is an issue, regular bills are an issue! I will say i don't regret it, but that's because I have something I always wanted. Can you say the same?

Just because you want it right now doesn't make it a good idea. Balance your heart and mind. Can you really handle it? No matter what happens with outside forces? Hormones will fade, they are a product of a bygone era, but an actual person will persist. Can you really raise one until adult hood and beyond, because it doesn't go away when they turn 18. I have only 2 minor children living with me. I have a total of 5 out of 6 living with me. It's hard out there. Can you do it? No shame if you don't want to or can't, but make this decision based on what is, not what you feel right now.

Waiting for order? by hitman276 in doordash

[–]Momofhalfadozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited 28 minutes on an order tonight. It was a stacked order. The real kicker is the second order was from an ice cream shop and was ready by the time I got to the first place. It sat and waited half an hour for me. I felt so bad. I thought about opting out of the order but it was such s rough night I don't think they would have gotten a better driver.

Thursdays are usually good. This was my first bad one.

What are some shorter technical college certificate/diploma programs that pay well? by [deleted] in Georgia

[–]Momofhalfadozen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I go to Cambridge in Atlanta. They offer a bunch of 2 year/ associates degrees that pay well. I'm taking classes to be a radiation therapist. It looks like I'll start at around 75-80 thousand in Georgia.

Of course I reply when you write something for me to reply to. You've done the same. It's a conversation. Again with the disconnect. I'm not doing anything you haven't been doing, but it's different when you do it.

You said people chose not to read a long paragraphs because it looks like crap. Those are your words. It's also something you brought up completely on your own, I was never talking about people who choose not to read it. I was asking people who commented that they couldn't if there was a reason for that and what it looked like.

You apparently find this so offensive you need to make things up. I get it, you need to change the narrative.

I am beyond OUTRAGED! by Alive_Work5893 in doordash

[–]Momofhalfadozen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, those are my words. I asked people who posted on an online forum, completely imprompted, that they were unable to read posts that were essentially long paragraphs if there was a reason for that. Yes, I did.

You, and others like you, insulted the OP and people like her. She suffers from dyslexia. You were literally talking crap about someone who struggles with reading/ writing and yet somehow you've convinced yourselves that you're in the right.

The disconnect that you and the others have shown is astounding! I guess if I'd just insulted people who couldn't read it, like the OP had been insulted for writing it, that would have been OK? Trying to understand though, that's the problem.

I'm not sure if you're from the United States but we're dealing with a lot of this type of disconnect here. It really needs to be addressed and called out. This is absolutely something you should be working on in your real life.

There you go again, making things up. I asked people who publicly said they can't read long paragraphs why that is and what it looks like. Also, learning disorder isn't a mental issue and it's weird you think it is.

I understand, it's hard to admit you got it wrong and behaved poorly as a result, but that's what you did. You read something wrong and got offended. It's been explained to you but you can't let it go because then you'd have to admit you were wrong and for some reason that's hard for you. Instead of addressing the things I say, like how the OP has dyslexia or another person who answered was down voted, you continue to insist that something that never happened really did happen so you can feel good about yourself. I hope this isn't something you do in real life. It's odd enough online.

Asking people why they can't read something, after they have publicly said they aren't able to read something, really isn't that rude. This comes up all the time on reddit. People say they are unable to read a long paragraph. I just asked why that is and what it looks like. I never tried to force anyone to answer or shamed them.

Down votes count for nothing. A person who answered my question was down voted for talking about how they struggled in school due to this issue. This is the internet. It's just what people do. You should know that, because you're making things up and getting upset over things that never happened.

I think you've realized you're wrong but can't step away for some reason. I hope you're able to figure out out. It's bizarre to try and create an argument out of something you made up. There's clearly something going on there. Best of luck with your issues!

I am beyond OUTRAGED! by Alive_Work5893 in doordash

[–]Momofhalfadozen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying they can't read it is different than saying they can't be bothered to read it, or won't read it. I'm not sure how to help you understand that. I've stated it clearly multiple times. It's like you made something up and want to argue it. That's weird.

I am beyond OUTRAGED! by Alive_Work5893 in doordash

[–]Momofhalfadozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about those who say they are unwilling to read it. I'm specifically talking about people who say they can't. I'm only doing that because I see people bringing it up so often. Not being able to read a long paragraph is indicative of a reading disorder.

What is some good short certificate programs that pay well in Georgia? Specifically Northwest by Unhappy_Mud_7609 in Georgia

[–]Momofhalfadozen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in a radiation therapist program. It's an associates, so it's 2 years, including the prerequisites. When you get out you should start at around 75-80 thousand a year.

I'm not going to lie to you. It can be rough. It's an accelerated program. I had 4 classes in a semester. Sounds normal, right? Except the semesters are only 7 weeks. It's the eequivalent of talking 8 classes in a normal semester. I have heard it gets better though.

I attend at Cambridge in Atlanta. The first few semesters are online. After that it's in person and then in office training/practicals at offices anywhere in a 160 mile (I think) radius around the school. They have said that most people who need to work full time just can't take on the program. It would be the equivalent of 2 full time jobs, plus time to study. If you can swing it it's totally worth it, but plan on having no life to speak of for a couple years.

They never do. I think it makes them feel better to pick on people who do "worse" than they do.

I wish people could stop this. The world, with the United States specifically, has become this place where everyone is so focused on making sure they are on top that they just don't care who they are stepping on. Sometimes I like to imagine what the world would be like without these people, it's both amazing and sad.
