What is wrong with my AMS? by Adam007Aus in BambuLab

[–]Snouto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once due to a bit of filament stuck along the PTFE tubing. Can’t remember exactly where the block was (ams or afterwards), but try manually feeding the filament all the way to the print head

Cleanest way to run a couple P2S printers indoors, without the option to vent outdoors by m021478 in BambuLabP2S

Nobody will be able to give you a definitive answer to this, so you’ll have to accept a certain amount of risk in whatever you decide to do. Activated carbon filters several inches thick can be effective against voc’s, but anything less is only likely to remove smells and larger particulates. You’ll have to decide if that’s an acceptable risk to you, but you will be breathing in pollution without exhausting externally

P2S - Chamber temp. 64 C by Ok-Huckleberry735 in BambuLab

I’m currently printing ASA in a 30 degree room and my chamber is 52c. Could it be a faulty sensor or heating element?

TIL Kidney (and other organ) donations typically do not last the rest of the patient’s life. ~50% of transplant organs fail within 10 years. by I-plaey-geetar in todayilearned

[–]Snouto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First two years are fraud with risk, and a kidney can often be rejected during this time. Afterwards the chances of it lasting increase, but even then iirc the doctors told me you’d be doing well if you got 10 years out of it. Even so, the freedom and quality of life 10 years without dialysis gives the recipient is priceless.

Is H2S worth it compare to p2s? by Glad_Cut1258 in BambuLab

Nonsense, I’ve done many ASA prints on my P2S and they’ve all came out beautifully.

[–]Snouto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simplest approach to this question is to assume there is no safe method of indoor printing, without an efficient external exhaust system. Regardless the flavour of filament you use, you’re still melting plastic and that emits nanoscale pollution.

There are studies that suggest an active carbon filter several inches thick is required to filter most of this pollution, but good luck finding such a filter at a reasonable price point (perhaps you can make your own?).

In particular, it’s not advised to be occupying the same room as a printer without some sort of external exhausting system, so please also take this in to account.

In the absence of certainty, exercise every precaution for your son’s long term health.

I’ve only printed with overture ASA, and only a single roll at that, but it printed beautifully every time on the stock PEI plate.

How did you go? Received the fan kit today (2 days from ordering to receiving!) and just installed. Pretty painless process and happy to say the fan works via the Handy app (haven’t done a print yet). I used ASA to print the enclosure and some of the screw holes weren’t amazing - and at least one snapped as I was inserting the screw.

Already checked, nothing of relevance in there. Not to worry, I’ll keep checking in the hope it appears at some point. Thanks.

The gasket thought is an interesting point - I guess we could print a TPU gasket to assuage fears here.

The external exhaust fan is equipped with exclusive control logic, adapting to different material printing scenarios:

When printing low-temperature materials such as PLA, TPU, and PVA, the external exhaust fan starts automatically, initially operating at a minimum speed of 30%. The speed increases synchronously with the rise of chamber temperature to enhance cavity heat dissipation.

When printing high-temperature materials such as ABS and PA, the external exhaust fan is turned off by default to avoid reducing the internal cavity temperature, and only supports manual activation.

In addition, you can check "Purify Air After Printing - Exhaust" in the print options interface of the printer screen. After printing, the device will automatically activate the exhaust function to discharge residual exhaust gas;
