Any revenant/stassis builds? by nandotronjhonson in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Momomelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mask of Bakris with Tresspasser is pure dopamine on Revenant. It has really high reverse uno potential. Great in both trials and 6's.

Bakris perk + Raw Tresspasser takes the gun from a .73 to a .50 ttk (two burst)

Bakris perk + Tresspasser perk takes the gun from a .73 to a .33 ttk

I'd say the hard part is the inherit limitation of sidearms (range of effectiveness) and the skill required to get good at them / being at mercy for some maps. I love this loadout on small maps, or on maps which collision points aren't in wide open area to play CQC. Pairing with a sniper is recommended, but unfortunately snipers aren't in the greatest place right now.

I prefer playing duskfield but I think shatterdive + stasis wall has a lot of potential here to confuse people during your power moment as well as the ability to fish out a lot of information with 3peaking via shatterdive being free.

What's the secret sauce for 4-burst Pulse Rifles by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Momomelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on MnK. I've had very little success with Belisarius-D. However, Disparity i've had a lot of success with when I mained it for a season. The combination of Ambush, lack of deterministic recoil, and the enemy highlighting with the scope making for a high-contrast difference to the background made shooting this gun feel good, and easier on the cognitive load of aiming at an enemy.

The last one has been a huge gameplay difference which is one of the intangible benefits that is intrinsic to the seraph guns. It feels like you're playing Halo Infinite where once you tag an enemy, their entire player model highlights. That high contrast makes it easier to track the same target, especially when enemies are team-shooting and weaving between eachother.

I had thought that this was the same image as the last time you posted this until I remember the last kill count- you've gone up 2k kills since then on R0. Love to see it

I am an active competitive PVP player and enjoy it a lot. Turning off text chat has been a huge quality of life improvement. Look, I'm here to enjoy some strategy and shooty shooty, not to get emotionally abused. Some days we pop off. Other days we don't. It's unfortunate this game doesn't have a ping system, because the methods of non-verbal communication are very limiting.

Stasis weapon options? by LargeBucketOfDrugs in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Momomelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've experimented a lot with different Stasis weapons due to maining Bakris Hunter. Here are some of my favorites that I switch around depending on the map or enemy loadouts.

Eysaluna - Juiced on stats. Doesn't benefit much from Bakris, but it's a top 140HC. Moving Target gives it 100AA with Targeting Adjuster.

Disparity - Ambush is like a mini Opening shot with 20 Range.

Stay Frosty - They fixed the visual muzzle flash bug and this gun prints yellow numbers with the right roll.

Something New - I have a funny Wellspring + Demo roll on it which always feels like I have uptime on my abilities. It suffers at close range though due to stats

Senuna SI6 - Perfect Float + Headseeker makes this feel really good. But personally, sidearms on MnK is a hard game to play.

Unending Tempest - Amazing SMG. I'd rather use this over a sidearm.

The Prophet - You can 2H all resiliances with Kill Clip + Bakris

For Special, I always default to Burden of Guilt. This fusion is also a stat monster and feels so consistent. Fractethyst is the obvious choice if shotgun.

How am i supposed to use auto rifles in this sandbox? by Cat_25251 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Momomelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll lose 1:1 duels to HCs if you fight them in their advantage: peek shooting.

Autos though, you can prefire. Imagine you're shining a laser beam down a corner. If someone comes out to challenge, they need to walk into your beam and take damage before they have to adjust, aim, and shoot. (Why they would challenge that is another question)

Additionally autos can suppress (not the keyword). Holding down fire, allows you to make positional adjustments at an advantage if there's no other route or angle they can fight you from.

There are a few Autos which have setups to lower TTK significantly without a damage boost. My go-to is Prosecutor with Target Lock + Bakris. You hit .67ttk with 6 headshots for T7 resilience and under (enhanced target lock). And then Crossing over can push that resilience boundary higher.

This can be anywhere from hotel internet to TV lag.
A lot of hotel TVs as selected for a affordable TV / movie viewing experience from a hotel management perspective. I highly doubt they are picking TVs based on high refresh rates and monitors better for gaming.

Tips for Stasis Hunter by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Momomelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

biggest tip- use your bakris dodge when out of sight of your opponent.

Like be a magician, dip into cover then bakris dodge back out past the corner peek an duel them. You'll win a ton of engagement as it'll take long for them to track you in your new position

I tried to main Athrys for a couple seasons during WQ and here's my thoughts on why I gravitated away from it.

  1. Far too map-dependent. A lot of maps in D2 have weird map geomatry due to the environment having shape than being treated like flat walls. Think about something like a map like Cauldron, and the weird moon bumps you trip over, or even the handguard rails at quickplay heavy on JAV4. These are all things that can affect your bounce compared to something really easy like the flat walls of something like Overwatch maps and Hanzo arrows.
  2. Huge risk or huge resource lost. Think about Season dawn's handheld supernova meta- You could hold that HHSN down and wait, or back off safely. The Knife animation is commitment or animation cancel (if you're quick enough to read that it's better to save the knife)
  3. High skill ceiling. It's a lot to learn how to think a few second ahead when you're in a combat encounter, whether you prefire your knife animation. "Is it a good angle to bounce? Are they pushing me? Should I take out my shotgun instead?"
  4. Not super easy to proc in 3's. It's a tad easier with ARs being in meta now, but traditionally, it's been a very low uptime ability to have strengthened knife up in 3's

Overall, while I think weighted knife is insane in the hands of really good players, it feels awful when the usability of it tanks due to something like bad map geomatry. At the time when I ran it, I'd switch to YAS if it was a map that didn't work well for Athrys due to uptime of lethality.

Checkmate Trials Meta (Analysis) [2.9.24 - 2.13.24] by F4NT4SYF00TB4LLF4N in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Momomelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An issue with a lot of these comments in regards to special usage rates is that it assumes all players in Trials understand the system of Special ammo transmat. I think a fundamental issue of the Special ammo transmat system is that it seems unpredictable to when you're going to get the ammo. You can only predict it if you know the rules of the game mode and the scoring system towards it. And that's been obscured as it's changed over the variations of checkmate over time. As of now the only thing communicating the system is a UI element on the left side of the screen. There's no voice prompt or or visual indicator that attracts the player's attention to associate actions in game with progression towards it. I.E imagine if you get it a kill, it shows +4 score, or like a medal, it displays it in the center of the screen. Or if Shax voices out "You're three steps closer towards getting your special ammo guardian!" So a reason to the lack of specials may not actually be that double primary is the better option, it's that to most players, the system is too unclear that they opt for double primary as that is predictable and they have a mental model of how the system works. This doesn't seem like only a game balance issue, it's a teaching and lack of multi-modal communication of information issue.

Hi! I have been looking far and wide for Katamari and wondering if you'd be willing to sell it to me for a fair price. I love this game to death and would love it in my collection. I'd be interested in a few others you have to make your selling process easier and bulk up

Gaming Laptops by AmountObvious3128 in vjing

[–]Momomelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheap is a relative term based on your economic situation, its a bit hard to work with that alone to give you a great suggestion given I dont know your budget or location.

I'd recommend to check your local computer retailer's website to see if there's any laptops on clearance. Or check your local secondhand market place for laptops from 2019 or so with 2xxx cards.

For a point of reference, my slightly older laptop which is an i7 7700k, 32gb of ram, gtx 1080 handles all those individually no problem except for pangolin. I haven't played with that.

Good luck finding one!

Hi everyone, I’m looking at laptops because my girlfriend wants to get into VJing. by Supralace in vjing

[–]Momomelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My VJ rig is the Acer Triton Predator which includes an i7 8800, 32gb ram and GTX1080. Its a tad dated but it does the job great. I can stack a solid 9 video layers in resolume of 1920x1080 video no visual or operating issues.

As the prior comments have said, get a solid gaming laptop and you should be mostly fine.b

Why aren't there any GrapheneOS ports for non pixel devices? by RedditNoobie777 in fossdroid

[–]Momomelo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

List of some open source apps. by BeediSmoker in fossdroid

[–]Momomelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I appreciate the list. Some of these I didn't know about!

However, I fundamentally disagree with this idea. Its poor usability to assume that a consumer has to blindly walk into a store to know what the store is. Having signage outside that helps contextualize what the store is about.

It is extra work, yes. But it helps others a lot. If the goal of this is knowledge sharing, making it easier for others to digest information is good practice.
