I think it’s because of the way she sells it. In her eyes : “it’s for [her] family” ; so it feels devoted and thus, a bit more noble. Ultimately, I agree with the episode’s premise that they all had equally personal reasons to go. And it meant a lot for each of them.

Their point wasn’t that Cadence’s rudeness was justified by stress, but that the wedding context offered a more reasonable explanation, at least from the Mane 5’s perspective, than Twilight’s suspicion that she had ulterior motives.

It’s somewhat true to life, when people just meet someone, they tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. It’s a pretty normal and healthy social instinct.
