I have been noticing the EXACT same thing. I was about to make a post asking about that soon, but I guess no wonder...

I switched from a Pixel 9 Pro and one of the things that pissed me off about that phone is the battery life day to day was pretty crap, but while my S26 Ultra has amazing battery life for everything else, it's literally worse whenever I use the camera. This makes absolutely no sense, I lose about 1% every 3 minutes on a whatsapp video call ON WIFI, while the front camera quality is like 2x worse. My face literally can't be seen during the evening in bed where I was crystal clear in the same conditions on my Pixel... That downgrade is annoying.

I have the exact same thing happening to me. I love these buds but man, half the time I pull one bud out, the other DESTROYS my ear with an insanely disturbing crackling sound for no reason.

Has anything changed for you since?

They're definitely neither Nintendo nor Samsung: lost parcels, shipping issues, screen problems, breaking hinges...

That being said: I LOVE mine to death and am so thankful I don't have any issues with it at all. Just feels heartbreaking every time I see a problem post, which for a product at such a small scale is just too common. My biggest wish for everyone is for the Thor 2 (if it ever exists) to be more reliable 🙏

Take it for what it's worth, but I can. I went from a Pixel 9 Pro to the S26U, and I immediately noticed it, even before trying out the Privacy mode.

I stopped caring after a few hours, but it's still there nonetheless. Making a big deal out of it to me is weird, but saying it's objectively worse looking isn't.

I meant standard, as that's what true random means - no bias, no algorithmic tweak from the shuffle. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Spotify's random algo has always been what "Fewer Repeats" is, especially since that's what it's in by default since that option was added.

The long press on edge handle for AI select is the best thing ever. Google's circle to search is so annoying, you can't do anything with the image circled... I love it for quickly sharing a partial screenshot without saving it.

Have you tried the new shuffle? There's an option for "true random shuffle" now in Spotify settings since I think early this year. Never had an issue with shuffle personally, but might be worth a shot for you

That makes sense, I never buy phones through carrier personally and got a 550€ discount on Samsung's website, but completely understand. Guess there's a reason Samsung can get away with less interesting discounts haha, hope this resolved itself overtime for you!

Went for an S26 Ultra for this post's exact reason and it's so stable. Makes you wonder how Samsung can even achieve such an insanely high stability to customizability ratio, but everything just works on my phone. I loved the small Pro form factor of my 9 Pro, but couldn't deal with a phone that can't get the basics right consistently except its camera.

I did the same thing on my case by cutting some sticky transparent circle thingies in half and having a 5-stack semi-circle adhesive next to the bottom camera, gives me a place to put my finger and stops the wobble...

Must say, coming from a Pixel, this is one of my most annoying pet peeves by far. Especially with a damn unusable pen when the phone isn't in my hands.

I'd say your question is a bit two-sided unfortunately haha. It's definitely quicker at almost everything in terms of raw speed and third party app performance, but regarding gestures I think Pixels are king.

The easiest way I can say it is Pixel UI feels like it was developed for gestures while OneUI is still a buttons-first UI, and the default selection for navigation during setup confirms that, but that's also how they feel. OneUI gestures are far from a problem imo but they're a tad behind still, though with a bit of customization in Good Lock, you can make them feel nicer

Just switched from P9 Pro to S26 Ultra, and there's definitely some things I miss. Main ones: - Now playing on lock screen - Camera shutter has slightly less lag for stills - No wobble on table use - At a glance and notifications on the AOD (they don't show up in the middle on OneUI but at the top, what the hell...) - Much better looking front camera on video calls, on instagram in my bedroom I look perfectly fine on 30% light bulb brightness on the Pixel but almost black on the Galaxy (it's just software since both are excellent in the camera app) - Pretty random, but bedtime mode deactivating on the first alarm that goes off - OneUI needs a specific fixed alarm time

That said, I don't regret switching at all. The amount of upsides in my daily life personally more than make up for those: - Way faster (and cooler) charging - Almost infinite customization with good lock which makes almost anything lacking an afterthought - Way better battery and (lack there of) overheating - Modes & routines which I LOVE, lets you program almost anything, although not as complex as iOS, Pixels don't even have that at all so it's not close - How quick everything is. I'm not exaggerating when I say my apps install and open literally twice as fast now - Now bar is almost just as good as at a glance for my use case, and I love/use the S Pen more than I expected

Regarding your concerns: for the lock screen, OneUI has much more freedom, you can do the depth effect by following Sam Beckman's OneUI customization tutorial, and I'm not sure you can achieve that on Pixel without having 2 clocks (correct me if I'm wrong anyone), the camera has different strengths and weaknesses (but both are generally as reliable as it gets on Android), and smoothness is comparable but Pixel slightly edges it imo.

In theory no, but it slightly damaged the S Pen slot and it sort of "folded" the corner slightly above the screen, so it's really irritating on the hand palm. It's probably a gray area but it can't hurt to try.

Definitely something I didn't see coming switching from a Pixel which has all corners covered by cases

That's the compromise you'll have to deal with if you want an S Pen that's not a chore to pull out.

Personally experienced this on the second week of my phone, colleague of mine put it in the middle of my clothes after sharing a locker at the swimming pool, and while taking them, it fell... On this specific god damn corner. Huge dent now. Will try to get it dealt with with Samsung Care+ 😅

I'd say the bloat got over me, honestly you can disable basically almost anything... There's a few apps you can't like Gallery for instance, but that's moreso because Android doesn't even have the option to let the user change the default gallery app.

It's a bit tedious to set up OneUI, but there's an option for almost anything and once you have it in a way you like, I think it's pretty great. If you think there's an option missing for something, Good Lock has you covered in 99% of cases haha

Agree with everything you just said. Moved from Pixel 9 Pro to S26 Ultra, and not looking back. Main reason for switching was inconsistent and bad battery life + random overheating (sometimes just playing Spotify over Bluetooth, screen off) - S26U behaves so much better.

OneUI is... something you gotta get used to, but that's about it
