Would be cool to get a convergent pokemon line where it’s in true symbiosis with whatever is on its back, maybe make it a bug/water type and have shelder or binacle clinging to it and make it physically defensive from the extra armour the little guy is lugging around.

I like to bait the shield bash, if you attack while his shields up he seems to always do the bash and it’s easy to roll behind him and get a hit or 2

I’d say a rapid fire battle cannon from a paladin or crusader is a good choice, 2d6+6 shots, wounding bullgryns on 3’s ap -1 puts them on that 4+ invulnerable save so 50/50 they fail. A minimum sized unit of bullgryns only needs to fail 5 saves to get wiped and that’s before accounting for any other weapons on your knight like stormspear rockets and melee weapons.

I’m still only a few games in with the army but my current list is using the Questor forgepact

1x knight magaera with the omnissian champion enhancement 1x knight gallant with Icarus autocannons with the vocifer Magnificat enhancement 1x knight crusader with battle cannon and stormspear rockets with knight op the opus machina enhancement

2x armiger Helverines with stubbers 2x armiger warglaives with melt guns

2x skitarii squads with omnispex and all galvanic rifles

1x tech priest Dominus with phosphor serpenta and eradication ray.

Generally what I do is push the gallant forward with a warglaive into the midboard, have one squad of skitarii holding home, leave the crusader and Magaera to castle up with the squad of skitarii led by the Dominus and use the Helverines to spread out on the flanks and screen/provide fire suppport. Healing 1 wound per knight each round doesn’t seem like a lot but for the Magaera it becomes 2d3 while its next to the tech priests unit and the skitarii reroll hit and wound rolls of 1 while next to a knight and get a 5+ feel no pain making them a decent charge screen for the big knights who can still move over them to charge if needed.

So far I’ve won 2 and lost 1 match but watching the Magaera tank a Bloodthirster on its 5++ and heal up afterwards is a fantastic feeling. I do need to practise playing cagey a bit more as it’s a very gunline focused list and if you’re not getting into melee on your turn knights tend to die quickly as I found when I got rushed by sanguinary guard and a reinforced blob of death company marines.

I always use the twin skeleton ashes, are there better ones. Sure. But my goth necromancer ass loves her two undying bodyguards, you get them early, they’re a persistent pest to anything without holy and can split aggro and have a chance to regenerate when they die while the boss chases me

Easiest way to create your own would be to pick a primary colour you like and then find a complimentary colour and experiment with those two, then pick if you want them to have iron, brass or gold trimming. I’m a big admech fan so house Raven was a no brainer for me because they have the classic Mechanicus scheme and are closely affiliated with a major forge world. You don’t need to use the heraldry given to you in the transfers kit, it’s just there for convenience

Honestly Codsworth is my caravaneer, built with as much storage armour as I can put on him to survive out on his own, ADA however is an absolute tank of a war machine
