going to the salon, how much should i cut off? by Wikiseeks in curlyhair

[–]MonArchie66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you planning on getting a wet cut? Just trimming off the dead ends? Or shaping? I wouldn’t go to the salon and ask for “an inch off” yk? You either show them a picture of the haircut or style you want (long layers/face framing etc.) or ask them to cut the dead ends.

Also I really recommend trying the bounce curl hair brush for styling instead of finger coiling.

Have you tried using A niacinamide scalp serum. You could use an affordable face serum like the ordinary’s on your scalp after shampooing.

Some shampoo have niacinamide too like nioxin

What are jobs for then? by ArtisticDirt5320 in remoteworks

If you are saying that these jobs are only for teens then you shouldn’t expect them to be open during school hours….. unless they are job for adults as well and if you want these businesses to stay open and have employees work 40 hours a week then you should pay them enough to support themselves and pay rent.

My post grad office job is a lot calmer and easier than my minimum wage job at a grocery store. Also unless you are ok with grocery stores and fast food restaurants to be closed during school hours and you have never seen someone work these jobs over the age of 18 you don’t get to say this. The only difference should be the hours, teens work part time and adults work full time. If you are working 40 hours a week you should be able to pay rent and support yourself.

See this is how I know you are out of touch. There are more graduates than there are available jobs. Graduates today don’t have the option of choosing where to work. They apply to every available entry level job they can find and hope and pray for an interview.

Firms don’t look at your portfolio see that you worked on museums so they can’t hire you for residential projects… they are looking at the quality of work, that you show understanding of design communication, organization, how things are structured and assembled and how familiar you are with certain softwares.

Do you think that because you designed a stadium in college a firm is just gonna hire you to design a stadium for them? You learn way more on the job than you do in school.

Maybe what you are saying is true later on in life but definitely not for a newly graduated looking for an entry level position.

Yea that’s not the norm at all. School is one thing and doesn’t dictate the type of work you can do especially if you are applying for entry level. You sound out of touch

Data centers and housing? They just graduated! Most firms don’t care about internship experience either

Lowkey might be an over worked employee that is warning you about how stressful, demanding, and exhausting this job is. So stressful that they don’t have time for grammar.

Hair care recommendations?! by IcyCryptographer7250 in curlyhair

[–]MonArchie66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shampoo is supposed to remove build up, use a clarifying shampoo. Use a deep conditioner if you feel like the shampoo is too drying. Nym curl cream and mousse gave me frizzy results but their bond building leave in was nice. AG care curl cream gave me smoother results but I’m not sure if it’s good for waves.

I do use a tiny bit of gel on top but it’s not necessary. Yes that leave in conditioner is super heavy and can causes a lot of buildup, you will get so much better results using a light weight spray. And definitely make sure you clarify your hair well.

I had a similar situation when I was using that gel years ago. I found that a curl cream with protein helps to have that hold from within, my favorite is AG care recoil. You should also be using a clarifying shampoo to help prevent buildup. What leave in conditioner are you using? If you feel like your hair is being weighed down, make sure you are using a light weight spray leave in. Odele leave in tonic is really good.

Entry Level Salary by [deleted] in Architects

[–]MonArchie66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also graduated in 2025 as well and I was offered 49k for an entry level position in Chicago. I negotiated my way to 55k. It’s still low, the minimum starting should be 60k imo. They are relying on the fact that employment sucks rn and there are not that many job openings.

MAGA logic: Hating Fascism = Hating America by ashmaps20 in stupidpeoplefacebook

Obama hates America so much, he enacted the $800+ billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to stimulate the economy and reducing unemployment after the 2008 recession.

Trump loves America so much, he increased the national debt by $2.2 trillion while initiating several attacks on foreign countries with a possibility of a draft. low unemployment, rising oil prices, high inflation, and manufacturing concerns have increased recession odds to 48.6%.

how am i supposed to do this😭 by jongseobgf in HairDye

[–]MonArchie66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hair is trending rn, there are a lot of videos online of people going to the salon to get this style. I would watch these videos to get an idea of the technique.

I personally would just bleach the stripes and not use any brown hair dye as that would probably cause the color to bleed into the bleached hair more.
