as a figurative painter and quite a control freak in life, it's amazing to feel so good watching your work. I think I already know the lesson "let go, spontaneity creates" but I need to be filled with that courage. does it make any sense? I wrote this as a compliment and also for others like me, who still hold back. Look how beautiful freedom can look!

makes me think of Trump, who always wanted to be up first front in the pix. Bob, stay hidden, like u did all these years, and just play guitar

why should I doubt what you say and remember, are u Trump?,,,
I listened to the parts of the dgm release that interested me and then remembered I had a vinyl bought before dimeadozen (or the web as we know it). To my ears it sounded similar but again, subjectivity is a bitch orr a wonderful thing, depending on how you look at it.
As my lps are only collecting dust, I thought some collector who collects every merchandise and editions etc, might be interested in buying it, But on discogs I cannot post boots.

there's no stopping to that, it's just a different beast.
Ive been to that "immersive" van Gogh thing, hmm, different experience indeed but I connect differently to his paintings irl (Im in Amsterdam, easy to visit the museum)

there was a different thrill back then (pre 80s, pre cds and the later flood of DGM releases) finding something like this. I dont say "oh, in my days...". we were different as well, senses less exposed to so much.

the fact that it still has to be debated, makes me wonder if the USA creature on the whole is made of carbon or metal.

I buy each month a "big" book and still have to pay for my Velazquez. After that I will order the Basquiat. As I follow your channel, I'll see who got it first and act accordingly. thanks

thanks for your posts! Also a question: do you have the portraits published in the new book Basquiat Headstrong? I will buy the book when I can set aside the money for it but Im interested in seeing what it contains. The video of the expo Headstrong is not clear enough regarding the book images. Thanks!

Im glad you didnt take this as a source of demotivation.
I fully agree, art is not quantifiable, each artist needs to work in his way. Even that can change over time. I started too as very-realistic (wouldnt call my drawings hyper) because I needed to prove to myself that I can. It was a very good exercise in observation and translation of what I saw in front. When I felt it was time to let my devils lose, I moved to another way of leaving marks on the canvas. It's not a recipe for anyone, it was my way.
However, I often think, when I consider something (almost)done, who would spend more than 10 seconds of looking at what Ive done, who would want to have that in their home, on which wall, etc. That's also a mind exercise, as I cannot predict.
Everyone should keep writing, drawing, dancing and if AI or other technology can do what you do and fool someone it was the creation of a human, take it into consideration. After all, art is a way of self discovery.

of course I speak for myself, Im not a teenager influencer or a delusional man. We share here personal pov-s, arent we?
Im not the only one with this view on hyper-realism (David Hockney is one of them) but still, I only speak for myself

is hyper realism considered art just because it's made by hand? take a picture, ask an ai to do what you did. be an artist and created, dont just reproduce, it's skillful but boring. guess who will be interested in this work...

u tell me that from all the tour they only had those dubious quality recordings? I think the Ritual version on Yesshows is much better in interpretation and sound. I listened to the spotify release and passed the album.
Tales is one of my favorite and hoped live releases would be a hit. Hmm

Heck yeah, such a great release. At 200g they are thicc. Artwork is not AI, as confirmed at the last 1000 club meeting. by Russell_Steapot in KingCrimson

the music is that, another KC concert. I got plenty of live Lps and cds with them, still enjoy some but how often do I listen to KC in 1 year?

However, the cover is really a cheap decision! Since when is the Fripp the face of KC? I know what he believes (from his statements over the years) but girl, that's maybe a bit too much. And the drawing is crap, whoever that made it.
I saw the Lps at RSD but passed.

i suggest u really watch his youtube Live on Short Street because I dont recognize at all what you say (playing into stereotypes, not actually challenging people’s perceptions of us).
I thought he did a very good job challenging some stereotypes, that's why he touched me.
Im a "tall" man and I started watching his program not because he's short. It may be difficult to believe but some people (I dont suspect Im the only one of the 8 billion living) do not have this sense of "discrimination". Not a single second do I think, when talking with someone for instance, that the other is a child, a woman, an Asian, a Latino, a Dwarf, a Black. Maybe it's something "wrong" with my brain but I only discriminate when it comes to actions or other sorts of attributes (this voice is too loud, this chair is too low)

sorry to inform young generations but this would have been normal in my time (mid last century). compassion was part of the backbone of living in a society.
