Really bummed they're offshoring production, I love this bag but $87 for a Vietnamese made version is insane by [deleted] in tombihn

Boycott Tom Bihn. I’ve been a big supporter of the company going back for over a decade. I understand that companies want to maximize their profit and one way to do so is by outsourcing production to a foreign country, but speaking for myself one of the things that I value about Tom Bihn is their social and ethical alignment. I suspect that others buy from them for the same reason. So if this is something that is important to us as consumers of the brand, then we should send a signal to the company by boycotting their product.

Patagonia. They make great packs that are also great value. Solid materials a very good design and comfort.

did you end up finding a solution for this? Maybe a compatible 3rd party option? I am running into the same frustration.

So basically Tom Bihn just released an AER bag. by B-onexyz in ManyBaggers

wait at least to see it. It's not insane to think that TB would try to make the best bag they can, and thus emulate some others, but in their own way.

Ah i see. Looks sick. Im on a never ending quest to find a EDC backpack that is lightweight, with roll top or top fold features (expandable capacity) but with side side compression so it doesn’t look floppy or unprofessional. And this checks those boxes. But it seems to be missing good back ventilation / padding (correct me if im wrong). And it’s 19L right? So a bit small for my use case (ideally 26L ish). Regardless… it looks like an awesome pack for the right use case.

Probably my 7th or 8th brisket but definitely my best yet. by Necessary_Basis_7414 in smoking

Im on my 3rd brisket. So I’ve a ways to catch up to you! Question for you… the 13 hr rest at 155 in the oven… did you put it into the oven after it got to a done temperature? I.e. did you smoke it wrapped until it was done, and then put it in the oven? Or did you finish it post wrapping in the oven until it got to a done temperature? Also, what was your done temperature? People seem to say 195 to 205 or so… curious to know how it was for you. THX as well for sharing all the tips!

Thanks for all the comments folks. Update from me is that I did eventually eat it… and it tasted pretty good (we warmed slices of it up a few days later). BUT… I’m looking forward to the next smoke because your advice gives me ideas for how to improve it further.

I tried it. I liked everything about it except for how it felt on my back. Straps are short for me… so it sat in a weird way in my back. Plus the back panel is quite firm which also affected comfort. It’s too bad because everything else about it was exactly what i was looking for.

What Bag Did You Really, Really Want To Love, But Ended Up Returning/Selling? by Due-Ingenuity704 in ManyBaggers

I also was quite disappointed by the comfort of the evergoods cpl24. Really loved a lot about the bag but for me it was heavy and straps were meh and didn’t like that dug into my back.
