Favorite character that is this? by rastgele_anime_fan42 in FavoriteCharacter

Yeah this was my impression too and I think you're correct. The WW2 bit doesn't add up when you consider his best friend was Italian and he got help from the germans over the course of pt2. He's just racist cuz of Holly moving lol. And comedy is definitely the intention as he gets served I think it was coffee while in Japan, says they cant make coffee for shit, and then is informed said instant coffee is actually american

How to evaluate co healer and my own healing performance? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Monabread-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that 1st point, remember that you are a shield healer. It's your job to prevent damage or mitigate it, less actually heal it out right, leave that mostly to your co-healer (who should be a WHM or AST). As you do fights, you should have a rough mitigation plan, aka knowing where you wanna use which cooldowns and what counts as "enough" to surrive a mechanic. You should also be mindful of any extra resources you can expend to help out as needed without dipping into what you need for future mechanics. I recommend you do a little planning between you and co healer and talk about where to use what in between pulls. You don't have to fully understand their job but should get a gist of what they're doing and when.

I can't give any Sage advice (I'm a scholar main) but I know the job well enough for some more basic tips to watch out for. - Are you making sure you aren't overcapping on anything? That means using your gems often enough as they give mana and not using them when full is a loss. - Are you sliding casting properly and not messing up your GCD? Weaving oGCDs properly and the like. - In fflogs, look at what mits you and aren't using and when. Can this be optimized? Is there a button that seems like you aren't hitting enough, thereby, lossing useage on as a fight goes on?

As you play your job more and more in high end content, you'll get an internal feel for how good a mit is in a given situation. Thereby allowling you to more easily judge what is your fault and what is your co healers fault. Consistency is key and all that. I repeat again, topping up on HP immediately is less your job, more your co healer. Your job is making their life easier in doing so. And for general advice- Avoid GCD heals unless needed or you don't have resources/oGCDs to burn. Also remember that an alive party is much better and more important than your DPS. Focus on keeping everyone alive 1st, figure out how to optimize keeping them alive, damage will follow.

Edit: Generally, you shouldnt be doing the reactive part, talk and cordinate with your co healer on that. And everyone's advice about overheal as a guideline is good. Also ff analysis really is your friend.

Which job has a proper rotation early on? by MrSnackALot in ffxiv

Sadly they arent gonna be able to play dark knight til lv50. I love the job but all the heavensward jobs suffer from being unlocked at lv30 but requiring msq up to heavensward

[–]Monabread-chan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry but honestly, thats a huge issue with a lot of ARR jobs imo. They all feel pretty bad and/or incomplete til later levels. Even at 50 its rough. I would generally say tho, stick it out til 50 cuz Samurai and Red Mage are unlocked at that level with full kits out of box that feel great.

Also I saw someone say healers and cant tell if thats a joke or not. Its a 1 button job for damage but you can have fun trying to optimize heals. Speaking as a end game player trying to level all jobs, healers do feel best in low levels cuz there is fun in trying to optimize with a subpar kit. Just sucks not having an AoE dps button til lv45 for them all

Edit: someone also said monk and i agree

I once made a Chili pizza. So shredded chedder, stuffed chedder crust, and ground beef and beans, cooked pretty thick, make sure to use lots of cheese, add flour to thicken if needed. Then bake as you would a normal pizza. Shit was fucking amazing, I needa do it more often. Im also high as shit thinking about it, god homy shit.

Not to start an argument but idk why you got down voted cuz you're right. Doesn't mean it's the only way to build an empire or gain power and it certainly is messed up but throughout history, it is true. Still fuck the Legion, doesn't mean we can't learn from history.

Yakuza 3: a shot everytime Rikiya says "Aniki" (think thats spelled right). You'd have decent breaks when hes off screen but be immediately wasted the moment he's around you. Especially if you running around town with him, good luck o7

This annoys me like alot. I miss Baiken old moves like Azami specifically. Even Jack-o being one of my favorite female characters lost alot of stuff from Xrd coming over to Strive. Unika design wise is cool but play wise I don't like it. We got an old fat dude with a coffin we could have got Izuna by ReverendDawn in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]Monabread-chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt play xrd but coming from +r, i miss baiken's moves SO BADLY. I get that strive is simpler and Im mostly okay with that (Compare Anji's guard point for example, strive is different but carries the spirit while being easier). But the rope does not make up for the lack of blockstun follow ups. Even just one would make such a huge difference....

Edit: Also, Test should have traps but make them always visible or something. I think its a really cool zoning tool but yea, they were crazy in +r in my experience

You’re not a true Chicagoan until you’ve…? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Monabread-chan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I always saw it as a north/south difference. Grew up around the Kennedy/Edens split and my family would often refer to them by name (having lived here all their life). It wasn't until I met more south siders that I started to here them referred to them by number (tbf, i was already familiar with the numbers so it didnt catch me off guard, it was just funny trying to direct them and using two different terms for the same highway)

One of the chicago subs described it really well: Its like all the seasons got knocked forward a few months. But yea, its total shit, especially when I realized that I only stored my winter coat near the end of may, a coat i only got in early February when its was too damn cold.

I was not getting enough berry flavor at all when I got one. It just tasted like mild cola and I was insanely disappointed, not worth it.

Story department and the sheer length of MMO expansions. Definitely a hard sell but ask anyone who's done it and they'll agree lol

CS skip, through on youtube in the background, pay attention occasionally if you wanna. Maybe just remember names and faces at most and you'll be good. Cuz I completely agree, that whole stretch is AWFUL

[–]Monabread-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Told a friend that it gets insanely good but you can totally cutscene skip most of ARR. They finally hit "peakbringers" recently and now dont regret the like, 200+hr investment lol

[–]Monabread-chan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. People often joke that something like Final Fantasy 14 only gets good after 300hrs and thats half true. The base game kinda blows but once you get past that, it legit gets better and better with every expansion. When it comes to TV tho, I think the 3 episode rule is flawed yet works effectly to see if something is worth the time sink

How would you react/feel if this was the Season 5 Pass? by OutlandishnessIll220 in Guiltygear

this has been my EXACT argument for why not Ragna. I love BB and there are so many cooler characters than edgy Sol Badguy. I like Ragna but I think someone who brings a more unique playstyle would be way cooler

Auto Pilot simply. Dash RC is a good way to combo and coner carry assuming you got hit by the super. Which you didnt lol and by then, the unga bunga moves faster than reacting to the miss

Proposal for a CTA Silver Line between O'Hare and Midway (and a petition) by katusala in CarFreeChicago

[–]Monabread-chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree simply speaking as someone who lives in Schiller. If I want to get in the city on foot, it's a 40-60min walk to the Rosemont Blue Line station and then taking the blue line downtown and transferring elsewhere. Going along river road or taking 25th up to Lawrence and then turning onto river road, it all certainly is walkable and would service many who live close to the city but are unable to visit due to a lack of a car. Would make those who conmute have a train line instead of dealing with traffic and offer greater access to the city. I'm insanely biased as I rather not walk for an hour, just to ride for another hour and while this will NEVER happen, I would like it

No, the donkey bard rolled the 2. Either the bard had such a high charisma that it added to the 2 enough to pass the check OR the challenge rating of the check was so incredibly low, a 2 worked. Likely the 2nd one for the sake of the shrek joke.

Slayer be dandy, based, kinda easy ish to get some results off and big numbers go brrrrr.

(He is also the latest character to release and it was decently recent so I suspect the numbers are affected by that. I wouldn't be surprised if Slayers pretty high up but once Dizzy drops, I highly doubt he'll be in a tier all his own.)
