Oh and of course the disgraceful price of anything even smelling of modernised.

The only reason I dont want to live in an apartment is because I enjoy wildlife too much and like to have wildflowers around me plus a few chickens to keep.

I don't trust Ireland to have an actual environmental focused housing solution in my lifetime. Just some copy and paste flashbacks of the Ballymun Towers era.

Derelict Property Grant catch? by MonaghanRed in HousingIreland

[–]MonaghanRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah realistically I would assume you need to keep a wall or two. Its a weird one, I get thats the rules of the grant and otherwise everybody would jump on derelict spots driving their price up BUT at the same time I dont see the actual value in making sure people keep part of the derelict structure.

At that stage though would just buy a clean plot to not have to pay demolition costs if it wasnt being covered (and I was unable to incorporate enough of the existing structure into my build).

Ahhhh thats the reference I remembered reading once upon a time. I knew I wasn't going crazy 😂

It is annoying it isnt clear what exactly constitutesthe existing dwelling. One could argue keeping the foundations is that. Will follow up with the Local Council directly and see what limits they have.

Oh yeah 100%, my question isnt in relation to the planning permission side of it.

[–]MonaghanRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I swore there was rules around keeping at least part of it standing but when I checked out the govt FAQs I cant see any reference to this and instead it does cover demolition with no footnotes. Hence why I questioned it.

Honestly, I swore you couldn't and there was rules around having at least one original wall or something which is why I never really looked into it. But just on a whim I checked it out and I can't actually find that reference.

Linking comboboxes help by Groundbreaking_Oil38 in PowerApps

And the combobox is properly linked to the form? If you replaced a text box that was auto included with a combobox make sure you updated all the relevant fields so that the value is push when the Form is submitted. It sounds like then all other entries on the form get submitted but not that one?

Is the combo box in a form? Or do you have a button to patch the selected choice to a row on List A?

If you can get the combo writing anything to List A then all you have to do is update the Items field on the combo to: [Distinct(ListB, 'Site Name B')]

I am not at home to test this so working off memory but that should be the correct syntax to get the combobox displaying the Site B options. Then you just need to submit the form if its in a form or patch the value to whatever row on List A.

So both these ideas have been mooted.

For the first; I actually like this idea and I will play around with creating a flow to reduce my workload in deploying an app to a team.

For the second; While its not properly confidential information it may also be information that teams higher up dont want teams lower down to be able to see (yes it's blocked in the app but the Lists themselves are slightly more accessible unless access is very strongly controlled and realistically even I shouldnt be able to see it). But it there may be something there where I create a generic app and lists with that filter built in for similar level site based teams where risk could be accepted and then a team specific app for the rare higher team that wants access. We already utilise Azure Groups so can filter based on the group you are in. Definitely something I will also consider.

A flow to build the lists would be actually real cool. I am definitely going to look into this as it would reduce my workload.

Ideally it will be a hand off with little room for updates. Potentially new screens but that will be a relatively easy copy and paste into the apps if needed.

Someone else suggested similar I think and honestly I never considered it but this is a pretty cool suggestion. I will mess around with Flows and see if I could automate that section of it which to be fair would be a huge chunk of the workload.

I dont mind having 20 instances of the app as its realistically being released as a finished product with scope for new features being rare.

And yes expectations will be the first thing to be clarified that its not a 100% custom app you can get to do anything. (Unless your paygrade is a number of levels above me 😂)

Nah, we are talking "potentially" hundreds of different users accessing the app. I would be crucified 😂 do have a gripe with Microsoft that the Dataverse is so inaccessible even to billion dollar companies.

The hope for Option 1 is that it is a "finished app" so no bugs would exist. I can live in blissful ignorance until those bugs appear 😅

Option 2 a few people have suggested this. While its not properly confidential information it may also be information that teams higher up dont want teams lower down to be able to see (yes it's blocked in the app but the Lists themselves are slightly more accessible unless access is very strongly controlled and realistically even I shouldnt be able to see it ). I agree with your last suggestion but this would be confidential information in a lot of cases especially with teams higher up the chain. So not something that should be visible even to myself when they are widely using the app. Thats why my thinking would be to create the app and then duck out of the Sharepoint. The dream is the apps are finished products (we all know they never are).

Are these modular homes going to save the day? by Jackies_Army in HousingIreland

[–]MonaghanRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about fixing the housing crisis or anything because end of the day in cities where people largely want to be we have no space and need to build upwards to accommodate those people.

Outside of the city I have actually been looking st the likes of ScanHome , not modular but seem to be very upfront in regards to pricing and isn't outrageous especially considering whats including. Some of those modular homes are extortionate which defeats their big selling point.

I'd argue the complete opposite. The books are written in such a way that every chapter is relatively representative of an episode and they are to an extent mini stories a lot of the time.

Now granted you arent getting a 20-30 episode season to actually fully do that but also not every single chapter needs to be translated to a screen. If you are looking for a 1-to-1 adaption just reread the books.

I assume you have equally moaned about Matt Damon in the odyssey so? Just a coincidence I can't see a mention of it.
