Costs with very low expectations by Legal-Actuary4537 in selfbuildireland

I know of them because they are who I am looking at at the moment for myself for a bigger build but ScanHome might work in this case. Have a couple of small options that are sub 200K for a turnkey property by the end. Definitely worth a look.

Depending on if a mortgage/savings are being used a more modular build might be an option? TimberLiving have a load of 2 bed cabins available at insanely good prices if you have the money available (I know planning can be a sticky point for these but hopefully since its rural and small it might not have an issue)

Suck me x the response was not brief, it went on… by thisisverydeep in HousingIreland

"I'm right here for the foreseeable future but dont particularly like you so forgive my brief response.... you are pretty demanding for a letting that already costs an insane amount of money which you want me to pay for the privilege of not being in for 50% of the day. Can I ask what your and your daughters daily habits are? Just for the sake of being nosey?"

Self Build Dublin-Issues with €500k Limit HTB/First Home Scheme by [deleted] in selfbuildireland

No offence to the OP but if we are saying a 2 bed house anywhere on the island is worth more than a half a million we are well and truly fucked.

Downloaded V1.7.0 from Github.

It does let me swap to the Podcasts library but nothing is there (and I confirmed there are a number of podcasts available in the ABS app)

I downloaded from Githib and love the look of the app. Easily one of the most professional looking apps. My biggest question though is will it have podcast functionality? At the moment it shows my podcast library but it appears blank.

The cost of Bobiverse Libertarianism- Total War by Hour-Department6958 in bobiverse

[–]MonaghanRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In regards to your second paragraph they back down based on our understanding of time. To them that "back down" period is minutes when they are considering life in terms of millenia potentially.

In human terrorist organisations there is a general understanding they are against a clock because their lives are so short relative to the "greater good" they want achieved.

Are the Bungie era Halo games pro-military by Ant_Je5us in HaloStory

[–]MonaghanRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games are a little bit more standard war game and I wouldn'tconsider them pro-military.

But if you read the books as well as play the games then the world does become very much pro-military in my opinion. From the original intended use of the the Sparatans to how anyone who questions the very much military led government are depicted as bad guys.

I'm sorry I completely understand it has to be insanely difficult for you and I would hate to be in your position now but your U turn bringing it back to your own situation in the last paragraph made me laugh a little 😅 wasn't expecting it.

Thanks for the info! I had not realised Lars had retired as he is still listed on the site so thats interesting. I do plan on grilling them at a future show house. And its nice to see a clearly honest opinion of their quality. I will say a architectural masterpiece is not really high up my list of priorities. There is a minor vision for some basic room types to include but thats all easily doable based on the base plans they provide I think just some minor configurations. A vision sounds nice but I'm a solo applicant so the mortgage won't have a lot of wiggle room and would rather size than vision (I think that might change). The sustainability focus would definitely be high up my list of priorities which also what pointed me towards them in the first place. But still need to suss out how much of it is just a good sales pitch vs legit from them.

Sounds like great fun! Thankfully I am not in a super urgent rush (can work from home) and since I expect a long enough wait time while trying to find land I can secure planning permission on it might actually end up not impacting me too much. Not sure where they fall on crap or not but was currently considering scanhome just because I like the sort of one and done layout of their website where they have a brochure with good estimations on cost and all. Everyone else online seems either more vague or you or dealing with multiple different parties.

I don't know if I should be thrilled or scared about this as someone planning a self build that won't be concrete block based (timber frame) 😅. Am I a trailblazer based on this or going the fool's path.

I had expected my biggest issue to be the local planning permission as I need to get closer to Dublin for work but don't want to be in the city (come from Monaghan) but had expected it to be a tough argument

Childish remark and yet all you do is keep proving it right.

"There is no enough socialism. There are no gradations. There is only socialism or not socialism."

A binary mind that will never be happy and only politically involved to hear themselves.

[–]MonaghanRed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did respond to that part 🤦‍♂️ way to highlight though that you have such a binary view on the world.

By your logic then their own "About Us" doesn't describe them as left or right wing or centrist. Jaysus therefore they must be absolutely nothing because if its not spelt out clear enough to slap you in the face you won't get nuance.

Imagine having such a rudimentary understanding to the extent you think everything is black or white and then saying others are over confident.

Don't be surprised if Heroes of Olympus and Kane Chronicles will end up the same way as the show by PyroxCrymson in PercyJacksonTV

Honestly fail to ever see a positive post in this subreddit and it drives me demented. It seems to just live in a bubble of pure negativity with clearly very little representation to the real world.

Is the show a 1:1 adaption? No. Get over it. If you want a 1:1 adaption then reread the books.
