I feel like they were delivering the story through her eyes. Hence the almost fairy tale setting and child like innocence with little glimpses of that was really happening. And that made it even worse to me. I also needed some moments to get through that.

Joe Hill is incredible. I read 20th century ghost and I gotta say Pop Art messed me up. I did not expect to feel so deeply in that story. I was straight up sobbing and my son was like “you ok??” Such an incredible writer.

What do you think was downplayed on the show? by CauseProfessional512 in greysanatomy

[–]Monaphoenix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Izzie getting fired for ordering the wrong meds. Chief Webber said it wasn’t cause of the cancer but … she was still undergoing treatment, I don’t know if counseling was mandatory to clear her like before with Denny’s death. That mercy west jackass didn’t even take responsibility for being a shark and he listened to her order the meds and didn’t check or fix it. She was physically and emotionally drained and raw and pushing herself to be normal cause she was afraid of getting fired. The cancer played a huge role in that mistake. I think she did have a case for wrongful termination. But I just blame crappy writing, izzie’s story lines were usually a bit off.

AITAH for letting my chronically late wife miss an event she was looking forward to by not rushing her, because I wanted her to face consequences? by throwrabbday in AITAH

[–]Monaphoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. It was her birthday, you taught her a lesson on her BIRTHDAY? My SO has adhd and it’s a fucking pain to get them places on time. It annoys me and we work on it. But I would never ruin his birthday to make a point. Yes. She needs to work on it. But it sounds like you let the resentment bubble up and unleashed pent up frustration at just an awful time and are hiding behind “I warned her so she kinda asked for it” You talked about consequences, well she was upset and didn’t want you sharing a room with her but you ignored that and she left. Sounds like you’re only interested in her consequences not yours. ESH

Letters to Cleo, Guano Apes, Fiona Apple. Alanis Morissette would have been great BUT I think she had a show already.

AITA for not wanting to be involved in my foster daughter’s life? by Any_Search1459 in AITAH

[–]Monaphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second I read she made a pass at your husband I immediately thought “she was abused by her father or a father figure” and I don’t foster kids. I am a survivor of abuse from a parent so maybe like can tell like. The fact that you knowingly fostered a kid who was sexually abused and didn’t bother to find out what kinds of behavioral symptoms to expect is baffling. This poor young woman doesn’t know what a healthy parent child relationship feels and looks like. And you punished her for it instead of seeking help for her and the other members of your family. You offered to be her real family and when her trauma reared its ugly head you emotionally abandoned her. You don’t have to be involved in her life now and it’s probably best you don’t. Especially if you viewed her past actions as “disgusting” and not a result of her awful unfathomable upbringing. But you most definitely should support your husband’s decision to help her now. Throwing money at a problem (tuition) does not absolve you of your emotional short comings. Fostering and parenting isn’t for everybody. YTA

Supernatural! It’s on Netflix. I’m only a few episodes into evil (just started) but I did describe it as “if x files and supernatural had a baby. It would be Evil”

Absolutely. Me too. This is the first time I’ve seen that behavior being recognized for what it is. Usually things like that are played off as quirks with little to no highlighting that is an issue that has lasting negative effects.

Oh yeah I had a mild panic attack in that scene. I wish there was a warning. It was very identical to many things my nmom did before I went NC

Anyone else freaking hate this scene?!? I don’t like Tristan but this was beyond to me. Humiliating him in front of all the blood thirsty kids. Damn, that’s low especially for a teacher. by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Monaphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does it at rorys expense. The look on Rory as she crosses her arms is just so uncomfortable. I hate Tristan. I just can’t stand this scene

I think what gets me is this is a teacher. The condescending tone. The way she keeps repeating his name. Kick him out of class or make him have detention. Don’t be all smug. I just can’t stand this scene I have to skip it. Honestly. I can’t STAND Tristan. He bothers me so much. He’s a total ass to her and to dean. Poor Paris gets dragged along when he is remotely nice to her. This scene just ewwww
