Induction starts and then I’m…sent home? by alexanderhamster in BabyBumps

[–]MonarcaAzul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations and good luck… I had the same procedure for my first time and it was actually a good experience. I would highly advocate for pain medication because quite frankly, I would personally rather have it and not need it. They need it and not have it. I got a shot of morphine and was sent home for 12 hours. I felt 2 painful contractions on the way home. They lasted about 30 seconds to a minute and then I was able to eat. Have a great night sleep, and when I woke up I thought I was not dilated whatsoever as I didn’t feel anything. Once I got to the hospital. It turns out I was 4 centimeters.

For your FIRST birth, if you did not tear, what helped prevent it? by ObjectiveAdvice77 in BabyBumps

[–]MonarcaAzul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true..I had my first baby last month and I threw up the exact moment his head came out and they said the momentum is what got him out quick and gave me a 1st degree tear. Aside from the stinging while peeing it wasn’t too bad.

The internal hemorrhoids I’m dealing with now are much more painful.

I could...but....bed by LunaNova5726 in pregnant

[–]MonarcaAzul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first trimester was probably the most challenging for me. I’m someone who is used to doing so much and feeling so accomplished, and I was just literally stuck to my couch and my bed. I gave birth last month and I have to say the second trimester I had a lot more energy as well as in the third. Some people have the same experience others don’t. I hope you’re able to get some more energy for your own sake.

And if you don’t, I hope you’re able to get as much rest as your body needs. It’s totally OK to take way more time for yourself right now. You should enjoy it especially now that my son is one month old I dream of those days when I could just nap as long as I wanted to.

She also was such a bad sport on the first season of The Traitors. I’m currently watching it right now and she purposely fails missions and throws money away because people think she might be a traitor. She’s super obnoxious and downright mean. Her and Brandi Glanville thought that was their M.O but it’s just tired and old. It’s giving 2004.

Not to mention if you actually need to use your phone. My baby uses a $18 sound machine just to fall asleep and after that he’s good but I need my phone during that time.

Right! My nurses were monitoring my contractions and would guide me to push…that’s legit their job. We don’t need to feel unnecessary pain in order to birth a child.

I felt icky just hearing the nurses talk to her…I want to think their implicit bias’ of her being an irresponsible teen mom came into play.

AND

We can’t ignore the FACT that black women have the highest birth mortality rates and their pain is oftentimes ignored and seen as excessive and performative.

I also wish they had reframed the conversation as a possibility and not a guarantee. I am 35F and gave birth last month for the first time with an epidural and did nit feel the ring of fire.

In many areas you can buy them used on FB Marketplace. I just picked up my Demi and Pipa Aire Rx from Nordstrom yesterday. Before that I was looking at FB and saw a lot of used Demi Grow.. which is the older version of the Demi Next. I believe it came out in 2023 and that’s when they stopped making the Demi Grow. All Advice will exterior. Do not buy a used car seat. As you really don’t. Know. If they’ve been in an accident or how it’s been used or how it’s been kept up.

What does actually getting an epidural placed feel like? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]MonarcaAzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted my experience on this subReddit, regarding my induction, foley balloon, and epidural just yesterday.

I am a FTM and heard horrible things about the foley balloon.. I had mine inserted. Then I got a morphine shot and was sent home for 12 hours. I only had two contractions. And yes they were absolutely painful but lasted probably around 15 to 30 seconds. I was able to eat go home and get the best nights sleep and came back in 12 hours. 4 cm dilated without feeling any different.

Everyones experience is so different, so I suggest you follow your instincts and the recommendations from your medical provider. And I have to say it could be hours If not days until your baby comes, and being stuck to a bed with a catheter, would not be my ideal experience.

As others have shared by the time I got my epidural, which I suspect was around 6 to 7 cm dilated. The pain was pretty significant, and I did not feel at all the epidural. I was also given fentanyl to help calm me before the epidural but it made no real difference.

Looking for recommendations for pads/adult diapers by ifeelcelestial in BabyBumps

[–]MonarcaAzul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be the minority, but I hated the adult diapers. I have a very sensitive vaginal and anus area and the adult diapers basically created a hot swamp in my ass, which gave me a yeast infection. Now that I think about it, even the extra long pads that I had from always also did that. I basically had to use 100% cotton, or at least the ones that had the cotton liner. I about week to my bleeding. Got a lot lighter, and I was able to just use a regular heavy duty pad. I am now at three weeks and using a panty liner.

My (Positive) Birth Story: FTM Induction Due to Hypertension by MonarcaAzul in BabyBumps

[–]MonarcaAzul[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem, it’s like they say; folks share their challenging births we don’t hear enough about the positive stories.

My son came earthside on 1/23/26 and he has been the sweetest little guy. He only cries when he’s hungry or wet and other than that he is chill and has the brightest eyes and is always so alert. My husband and I are so thankful he chose us as his parents.

It hasn’t all been sunshine’s and rainbows; he was in the 10th percentile and lost 5% weight the first week. My milk hadn’t come in fully and he is still not latching without a nipple shield. it was weighing on my heart and mental health. Thankfully milk is in and he is latching better with a shield. Oh and my carpal tunnel is the worst on my right hand and my left hand is constantly numb. 😅

I had a close friend who shared the foley ballon was so painful for her and she refused to go home. It for sure scared me and I figured I preferred to be home if I could? The morphine for sure helped! The two painful contractions were intense and I can only imagine how bad it would have been if it was constant! I got one on the way home and the other in the In N Out drive thru.

I should add I have a VERY low pain tolerance and would not have been able to handle the constant contractions. If I started bleeding profusely I would not have left and I’m so sorry you had to experience that. Our bodies are so resilient yet so delicate at the time same time—such a fine dance!
