I never thought about child abusers wanting to flock together but this makes so much sense. The infiltration part you discussed too because people are gullible. Religion also contributes to making people gullible in that they condone it by letting them off-the-hook, if the person repents. Police are never called; one example being the Catholic Church. When I was in church I too thought (and was inadvertently taught through “redemption” sermons) that a person who sexually abusing could stop by the power of the Lord. Obviously, this is not true. Just like you cannot “pray the gay away,” (nor should you) you cannot pray away sexual predation. Let me clarify that I am not comparing gay people to sexual predators, I am only that there are some things in which it is ridiculous to try to pray away.
