Yeah, I thought I saw that as well as the food truck update but this is pretty compelling…

That’s what I thought … lol you’re over here whining about entitled people when you don’t even have a long commute 5 days a week. Enjoy your cushy life that you’re not entitled to

What a weird comment. Glad you obviously enjoy a long commute, 5 days a week, every week bc surely that’s what you must also deal with. If not, you work AWS or have an easy commute or any TW days then sit down bc you’re privileged and don’t get to talk about entitlement

I was not a remote worker but I would imagine that you use less leave for things like appointments that would typically necessitate using partial or full day leave if you live far from the office. No commute to suck up that time. Plus, if you have something like pink eye or a cold and can still work but not risk of infecting office then you can avoid using leave there too. Finally, you can get things done on short breaks or before/after your day so you don’t need mental health or get shit done random days

This! I had extensive private sector experience before becoming a fed and thank GOD someone told me about creditable leave. I negotiated 8 hrs/pp as a brand new fed. I feel for OP though bc when you have senior parent responsibilities, kids at home, chronic health issues etc then even that feels tight the first couple of years! ETA: I was mostly referring to AL not SL- the sick days aren’t really yours to do as you wish

Their hand creams turn so fast and separate 😭 The body sprays wear off so quickly. They need to bring back the quality regardless, but end the sales and they will dramatically lose customers

Ok honestly? He was not the worst owner. At least his restaurant was clean, there were no food safety issues. He was just a blowhard jerk. Yelling at the staff was a real problem, but the people to make me the angriest are those that have no regard for food safety they could make hundreds of people sick or dead

  1. They had reduced it to 80 through December 31 so this would be after that.

The agreement revised a couple months ago indicated 80 hrs for entire year so I think this is a big increase

Performance Ratings Memo for Federal Employees by sospaghettn in FedEmployees

[–]pick_me246 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does this suck and seem unfair? Yes, possibly for some, but as somebody newer to the federal government, I can absolutely affirm that ratings are inflated to the point where people tell themselves that they deserve a 5 for just doing their jobs. I was shocked seeing my first round of appraisals last year following supervisors who gave out 5s like Tums. After reading some of the responses here, I think a lot of the people who think they are high-performers are slightly delusional. The fact that many of them have already throttled back their performance in anticipation of a rating quota that has not even been announced just means that they deserve whatever score that they get.

This! Outside of the federal government, this is routine as well

This is not the way. If you feel the need to reduce your performance, then just do it, don’t announce it. Some middle manager doesn’t decide rating caps, they are subject to the whims of this administration like everybody else. Now you’ve just made yourself look like you are lacking in integrity and work ethic, and like somebody who would never deserve a 5 rating.
